They didn't tell their family that they were giving up their flat and planning to disappear.
I think, they didn't tell their family about job canceling as well? An important detail to avoid in conversation, IF they did.

If Eliza ever worked at the boat club, maybe she knew how to get in, and tinkered with their cameras.
Nothing to indicate she was ever a cleaner there. Also there are more than one camera AT the river, differently owned boat houses down the river, with also public CCTV cameras covering the bridges on both sides.

I feel like there might have been a lot they didn't tell them, so I wouldn't be surprised if they kept illness secret too.

I highly doubt that.
Yes they would by now. As well as dental records and DNA if they have. The details will be shared to UK Missing Persons Unit to enable other forces to check up on sightings or if a body turns up. It is deleted if the missing person(s) are found safe.

DNA and dental records for identification when/if they need it yes, but not private details about illness? The police don't have an automatic right to know their medical history.

You have an appartment with your twin sister, you both have a job - why should you be so very desperate to give up?
So sad.
To have each other, may have been a little too little over the years.

One thought that comes to my mind is how things like depression, anxiety, irrational thinking are known to be "contagious" sometimes. Especially among people who live together or see each other every day. They were seemingly best friends and possibly very emotionally connected, so if one sister started suffering, maybe the other did too.

I thought it was just two weeks leave, not actually resignation?

I think, police would have access to data, if they needed it for investigation of a missing case. Would be helpful at least.

I’m best friends with identical twins, both female. They may not do EVERYTHING together, but their living circumstances are certainly the same. If one of them won the lottery, they’d split it. If one was dirt poor, the other would be, too. Mental health is the same in their experience, from what I’ve seen. If one of them is feeling low, it seems the other will, too. They rely on each other to make themselves feel better, and when they can’t they will simply have a bad day. It’s a connection that nobody could ever come close to. I’ve seen them go through bouts of depression as well as in the best period of their life. They are so mentally dependent on one another which I find really sweet. I can’t say that Henrietta and Eliza are the same, but it’s certainly recurring in twins from what Ive seen. Especially twins of the same gender.

They do. Usually after 72 hours, they can directly without permission depending on the circumstances ie may be a theory for disappearance and or can ask the permission of next of kin if it doesn’t meet the test. Either way, they will have. They will have likely taken DNA swabs from the apartment too, if they don’t already have them.

moo, moo.
I do think this is the case with the two women. A co-dependance in life. If, the loss of weight was an illness with poor outcome, I believe they WOULD find a way to terminate life together.

Obviously we do not know any of this to be true--about weight loss or illness... But the co-dependance of each other, with apparently minimal connection to anyone in Scotland, and even scant communication with relatives back home.....

The hard part for me, IF this was a planned co-suicide.... why would they not, at least, provide some solace for family.

But we are forgetting something, they are not twins. Effectively they are in Scotland, I get that point.

They are, though.

They are two of a set of triplets, but within that set of triplets, they are identical twins. Their other sister is not identical with them, she is fraternal.

It seems they might actually, with permission.

BBM - "We might also ask for details of the missing person’s dentist or doctor, so we can ask for dental and other medical records. We might ask your permission if you are their next of kin"

Thanks for these details!
I didn't know if it would have really been necessary/justifiable in this case for them to try to access medical records (apart from DNA/dental) seeing as they knew from the start the sisters didn't leave that area and thought they'd entered the water.

With the new information coming I can only assume Eliza was battling some sort of illness (mental/physical)?
Possibly anorexia, but of course there are other possibilities.

Yes, she looks very similar facially, like a sibling can, but not identical. She also has a very different style and presentation of dress and hair.

This article has a picture: Missing Aberdeen sisters: Full timeline as search for pair enters third week

It has been stated in articles that Edit is fraternal, not identical, with her missing sisters.

The twins were of an age when many might hope to find a long-term partner and/ or become pregnant, but for some, that idea is nauseating, imo, speculation...
