I never "met" Tybee. she was gone before or right when I joined WS. But I remember Tybee Island. I used to live in Savannah when I was in the army and afterwards. Loved going to the beach at Tybee Island. I do remember seeing dolphins often. Got into a pretty bad car accident there. Hit head on by a drunk driver lady at 60 MPH. she had two children in the car who were hurt pretty badly! Myself and the other two people that were in the car I was riding in were admitted to the hospital for two months. I have a painting from a local artist that was painted on Tybee Island. Its beautiful. I loved it there.

I must have missed something. Why would Deb have a memorial for Tawni at Tybee? Was it a special place for Tawni or was it just because of the dolphins and convenient for Deb?

Well, things that make you go hmmm, isn't it...

Mike started his time-he is out in the tents, 4 to a tent, 40 degree weather. He said most of the people in the tents are multiple DUI. He is miserable. The good news is that he has 4 days under his belt....

I do not know if this is worth posting, but in the interest of disclosure I received an email from Deb:

"I wanted to let you know how the sentencing went. The judge wants to give him the 3.75 and so she had to move sentencing to next Tuesday. He was arguing that the most he can get is the 2.5 years and so the Judge wants to investigate that further so she can give him the aggravated sentencing amount w/o appeal possibly. I think it went well and I was told that we may have a chance to have the new federal charges brought against him. Thank you so much for sending in your letter and thank the other websleuthers as well for us. I got a chance to speak to the Judge and I feel that she is a very smart woman with great insight. She knows what the real story is and I believe she would like to see him in jail for a long time. I think we will get our chance to do that.

As you probably know, the only ones in my family who wrote a letter was my Aunt, Patricia Jacobsen and my little sister Tammy. My aunt is a very special lady who lost a child herself. I appreciate that she took the time to think about us. Very self telling about my family and what they are like but I am sure you already know that from your conversations with them. I am grateful that I have my husband’s family. I received over 50 cards from his family with wonderful letters in them and they have been a great support to us.

Thank you again."

Two things worth noting-one was the thanks to all of you! The other was the last line...I have the list of letters submitted and there was not a single one from anyone other than Deb, Mike, Websleuthers, Jacobsens or friends of Tawni's. I found her complaint a little odd not to mention untrue. Even her mother wrote one, God Bless Her. JMO.

Thanks for the update.

I thought my family was dysfunctional. I had no idea.

I double checked with the attorneys and there were no additional submissions for consideration, so perhaps Deb kept those support letters to herself. A headshaker....

It's becoming clear how the family believed that Tawni just took off and started a new life...:furious:

I have been working hard to say neutral, but she does remind me somewhat of Cindy Anthony in her belief that if she asserts something it makes it instantly true.

That's the impression I got. If she actually received 50 letters they were addressed as support directly to her and her DH, or the family incorrectly believed Deb would pass them along to the court herself.

A definite headshaker. I'm not sure why she has the need to continously express her thoughts on her family, when as a family friendly supportive website we support ALL family members.

It is too late for them to be submitted now, so.....

So, do we know which letters got submitted? Or did I miss it somewhere?..

The judge has read them all, but the defense motion to strike them will occur today....

Good to hear - does this mean he's out now or will be getting ut soon?

He is "ut" now, lol...they kicked him out last Monday so he went and bought a house.

I am not sure the two are related but you never know-he says he closes January 15 and moves in February. The name of the town...Maricopa of course.

He was in jail, Sunshine, for his DUI. He was supposed to serve 45 days but they let him out early.

LOL, Gigi! Great news, believe! I'm so happy for him. I hope he will be happy and find whatever it is he is looking for in life. He certainly didn't deserve to be in prison, I too am happy that he is ut! LOL! Go, Mike!
