I do not know if this is worth posting, but in the interest of disclosure I received an email from Deb:
"I wanted to let you know how the sentencing went. The judge wants to give him the 3.75 and so she had to move sentencing to next Tuesday. He was arguing that the most he can get is the 2.5 years and so the Judge wants to investigate that further so she can give him the aggravated sentencing amount w/o appeal possibly. I think it went well and I was told that we may have a chance to have the new federal charges brought against him. Thank you so much for sending in your letter and thank the other websleuthers as well for us. I got a chance to speak to the Judge and I feel that she is a very smart woman with great insight. She knows what the real story is and I believe she would like to see him in jail for a long time. I think we will get our chance to do that.
As you probably know, the only ones in my family who wrote a letter was my Aunt, Patricia Jacobsen and my little sister Tammy. My aunt is a very special lady who lost a child herself. I appreciate that she took the time to think about us. Very self telling about my family and what they are like but I am sure you already know that from your conversations with them. I am grateful that I have my husband’s family. I received over 50 cards from his family with wonderful letters in them and they have been a great support to us.
Thank you again."
Two things worth noting-one was the thanks to all of you! The other was the last line...I have the list of letters submitted and there was not a single one from anyone other than Deb, Mike, Websleuthers, Jacobsens or friends of Tawni's. I found her complaint a little odd not to mention untrue. Even her mother wrote one, God Bless Her. JMO.
