I actually do have a drawing I did, on my other computer, its so slow, I had planned to upload it here...…..ill try it againCould have towels in the garage to wipe down a car? Or, towels nearby in case children went swimming off dock? Did they ever do that?
We don't have a diagram of the body, blood and drag marks but it would be nice. Maybe his legs were just spread out and they moved them through the blood to be closer together so they could get by the body? When I'm sitting in the chair with my legs spread out, that's at least two or three to four feet apart.
Thanks for finding the diagram. I don't remember seeing it, but I don't remember a lot of things any more.
I thought the body was between the cars near the car doors. And, I thought the house door was on the side by the smaller car.
Looking at where his body was, I would think they had to roll his body toward the cars to put the towels under his left arm. Could that be when the foot was dragged? Or, was the foot dragged in to shut the garage door?
Why were the slippers taken off?
CLEARLY didnt want him found for a few days or more due to the towels used to stop blood going under garage doors into driveway
^^^^^^^
This....seems kind of fruitless to use these towels AND leave the door unlocked? If the door had been locked, their friends who found them would have had to call the sheriff's office for a wellness check?
Interesting you say that, I had thougth the same very early on butI always felt that the towels were used to prop him up enough to finish cutting off his head and was not a ploy to stop the blood from draining out under the garage door.
Notice the door in hall with glass over top, would that be an exterior door? NO< look in that upper glass, I see sheetrock.....like it's a small room...…...I don't know nowWhat is confusing to me is this drawing and the tax assessor one kind of combines the main floor and the basement floor. I thought the two doors to the left of the kitchen went to a bath and a laundry room and the glass door went to the open wood deck from which you could either walk to the left down the outside stairs and to the right was the big open porch. The stairs showing would go down to the basement. I figured the door to the garage was on the left at the top landing of the stairs opposite the laundry room and where you would walk out facing the side of the car.

here's a drawing I started, how I see it
and about the towels and door, I see your point but I guess I see it as, no one is going to be overly concerned for a few days, 48 hrs.........a week goes by and someone is going IN THAT HOUSE to find out what's up but not likely before
and no one did, anyone that would have come by were busy with party on Saturday, hmmmm, no one may have even missed them til her bridge game day and may not have then, maybe thought she was sick...…so another week goes by they miss church and then bridge again, THEN someone would have started looking
hmm..…….interesting, once again, seems like the killers wanted them found, but not right away....maybe why they chose the day of the derby party, otherwise no one would have missed them for a great while...……..not sure quite how social the D's were other than her bridge club and church, so what, you miss a club day or two, it could have been weeks before someone looked for them, which wouldn't have mattered either I guess...….except that the family would have eventually had to call to have a welfare check done if they never reached them or even come down to check on them
another week and the children would have had to do a welfare check. I was always surpised why they hadn't already really, always bothered me no one checked in after the derby races to share notes on their bets since the daughter was so big into that and goes to the KY derbies herself
but whoever killed them cant be the ones to find them
They towels were under his upper left chest/arm area IIRC
ahhh, I get ya now, I was thinking just cutting from the front, lots of cartilage but not much bone, dont know how hard that is...….Exactly, so I'm thinking the towels were propping up his shoulder and arm so they would get the knife under his neck to finish the cut. I tried lying flat on the bed and my hand would not go under my neck but when I propped up my shoulder and arm, I could reach further under my neck.
