yep, watched that lastnight til 1 am! haha

Seems to fit, but other things seem to also, IDK anymore

question, anyone? What is a medical device professional? And what kind of devices would that have on hand or access to?

<BBM for Focus>

IDK, anymore either Tomkat.. My initial theory of the perp responsible for the Dermond's abduction/murders/decapitation was an Ed Kemper type due to the lack of a robbery, decapitation, and other indicators; victimology, etc.

Then the Newaubian cult info cropped up again and was scrutinized more thoroughly. Combined with the motivation of retribution(payback) by NC followers and the identical investigative resources; FBI, BAU, and 7 Sheriff's Departments utilized by Sheriff Sills. The NC theory has risen to the top of my list..

OT- Then I see this breaking news and realize that it can happen anywhere, at any time, to anyone. Without any motive what so ever...

Seems hinky.
Although I believe we.have already had 2 this year.
A friend of my son's drowned Sat night. Cause he tied a rope around his waist hopped in a grocery cart and let his buddies push him off the dock in 30 ft water. At midnight!
My son was supposed to be at that houseboat party. Soo lad.he wasn't.

"Officials continue searching for a solution to the mystery of the murders of Russell and Shirley Dermond, meeting daily, pursuing court orders and running down “all kinds” of leads."

"One tip being pursued Friday morning involved a man who reportedly went to the Huddle House in Greene County and said he needed to see surveillance tapes from the business."

but no, 2 murders and 2 drowings in the same lake, basically , and in the same month is not common

I hope they get to the bottom of your sons friends death

Good gosh, I saw that, AMerica gone to hell in a handbasket, that, little girls could do that, something is seriously wrong with this society, everyone is different therefore parents need to be aware and help guide those that apt to be more prone to trouble or influenced, I guess people are still naive, like anything else, "Oh it won't happen to me"

I still have several that have been brought up here, at the top of my list but it's hard to decide, WE NEED MORE INFO from LE

My thoughts especially relate to the age of the people recoverd from the lakes.
Most drowning around here are usually male and 18 -30 years of age. NOT over 50.

Just a thought regarding Sills' silence and it could go one of two ways.

The last we heard, I believe, the house was turned over to the children who were in town. The children may have held the funeral services for their parents while they were there, and out of respect, Sills did not release anything to the media. The children had enough to deal with, with not reading about their parents in the local daily paper.

And then, with the family in town, what better time to meet with them face to face now that so many facts have been uncovered, true or false. A personal meeting is better than a telephone call. Don't jump me, a funeral is a terrible time for interviews, but you gotta do what a person's gotta do! And, we are talking about solving a murder case!

There IS a reason Sills has gone quite! We just don't know why. :twocents:

RE: Sills Silence

1&2&3, If Sheriff Sills had a clue who was responsible for the Dermond's horrific murders. Would he be asking for donations from the public to raise the reward amount, one month later?

'Silence is the predators most lethal weapon'..

What the heck is that video? It doesn't look very appetizing in the thumbnail clip.

It's a documentary called "Murders, no apparent motive", and has crime scene footage.

Am I the only one surprised the family has not offered a huge reward?

This is a first for me! It really bothers me too! We have wondered why no reward, then why such a small reward, then why family, friends, associations, bankers of the couple or any of the children have not jumped on upping the reward.

For the sheriff to send out a letter, instead of asking on camera, seems like he is begging! It still bugs me that the three children have not offered any money towards a reward! Why not spend their inheritance to find the murders? :banghead:

Agree 100%! The letter regarding the reward was posted while I was typing my post.

As you see, I had an immediate response on the reward post. Why don't three children offer money on the reward?! I don't want TOS so will not express my true feelings!

If Sills actually does have an idea of who and why, but not enough hard evidence to actually prosecute as opposed to just arrest, then someone coming forward enticed by the reward could potentially lead him to the hard evidence. :moo:

Same here. I think I need to sit on my fingers.

And I think you underestimate him, IMO.

There's more to a murder investigation than just identifying a POI and publicly proclaiming it. Sometimes you have to watch and wait, build up a case, gather more intel.......cross all of your "Ts" and dot all of your "Is" because you want to ensure you have the most solid evidence/case to go before the courts. IMO, the fact that we've received no real significant updates says to me that there are lots of things going on in the background that we the public can't be privy too, for obvious reasons. Part of a murder case is to establish an M.O.....and maybe more time and behind the scenes investigation is taking place to gather such info. Not sure why you seem to come across so pessimistic and with such a chip against Sills. *shrug*

 I think some people may have been born grumpy.

If this case remains unsolved it sure wont have anything to do with Sills' inabilities or age. He is a very smart man with years of experience. He is no where close to retiring. You can tell by watching him he is a very energetic individual who is a quick thinker.

If the evidence is there an arrest will be made. If it isn't then they will continue to search for evidence just like they have done in so many other cases. There is no statute of limitation regarding murder. Some murders are very hard to solve. In fact around 35% of homicides go unsolved. Will this be one? No one can really say.

But many cases have been solved years or even decades later. People had just about given up that Holly Bobo's case would ever be solved but all along behind the scenes the investigators were working the case hard to bring about arrests.

We already knew pretty much that this killer didn't leave much behind in the garage and if the police does not know the actual location of where both murders happened then it is logical that this was going to be a hard case to solve.

It will happen when it happens and when they have amassed the evidence needed to bring about an arrest and trial.

I would much rather have Sills and his investigators take their time because they know the DA only gets one bite at the apple.

Imo, this killer is an unusual suspect which makes the case harder to solve.

Imo, the usual possible suspects have already been investigated and ruled out behind the scenes.

This case unfortunately may never be solved but if it is I sure wont blame Sills. I think if anyone can solve this case it is Sills. He is passionate about what he does which means he will always try to find the answers he needs to bring the killer to justice.

That is all we can ask of any police agency.

From that article:

“Outdoors enthusiasts are an observant bunch, and we need their help,” said Harry Luke with the Putnam County Sherriff’s Office in Eatonton.

Mr. Dermond’s body was found decapitated on May 6, while Mrs. Dermond’s body was not found until May 16 when an angler fishing several miles downstream near the mouth of Richland Creek discovered her body.

“Anyone in the Lake Oconee area during that time who observed anything suspicious on the water, on the bank, on the highways or at the boat ramps is urged to please contact the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office,” said Harry.

Yes they are, and I have to wonder if someone did see something, but just don't think its important.

I don't think anyone knows about these crimes but the killer himself.

Anyone not connected at all to the crime and just saw something would have already reported it to police.

Rewards like this seldom if ever work anyway. If they are involved they are not going to incriminate themselves even if offered and if they are a part of the crimes themselves they are not eligible to be rewarded for it or at least that is the way I understand it.

Most rewards are given to people who find missing bodies by happenstance..such as campers, fishermen or hunters.

I am like FoxFire, I try not to second guess what family members do that have lost loved ones this way.

They may think it is appalling to entice someone with money who should be decent enough to do the right thing to begin with.

Or they may think this is like paying/rewarding the very ones involved in the crimes themselves. But those are only speculations on my part because I don't know this family or the reasons they have for not putting up reward money themselves. They may think it is up to the police to find the killer and make an arrest...which is true.

Since they have never been mentioned by Sills as having anything to do with these horrible crimes, I respect them in whatever private decisions they may make.
