A person who takes an Alford plea is not found to be innocent.
Is an Alford Plea the Same as a Guilty Plea? - Lawyers.com
No. Never said that. Please don’t misquote me

Just making things clear by bringing a link that explains that an Alford plea only means someone claims that they are innocent.No. Never said that. Please don’t misquote me
It is not about his punishment.Maybe he didnt do it, or they felt they couldnt win.
He's doing the very same punishment he would have been sentenced to.
I doubt an article has been written that specifically compares the costs. I'm sure if you want to know, you could Google.
Way back when I compared these cases simply with regard to the outrage some of us felt about the hoax. "We" were accused of being racists because Jussie is black. I pointed out my outrage was exactly the same for the blond/blue-eyed/white hoaxer Sherri Papini. This is not a race issue. Some of us just REALLY do not like being made to feel like the wool can be pulled over our eyes. Maybe it's a character flaw on "our" parts. It really makes me mad!
Well show me.
They never said he sent it.
If they did it would have been posted at least by the 25th time someone asked for that proof.
But nope.
Again. It was only mentioned when someone said that NO ONE PLEADS GUILTY TO SOMERHING THEY DIDNT DO as an example of ppl pleading out even though they claim innocence.
You are creating a narrative around that post that doesn’t exist and twisting my words
Community Service? He signed autographs in Jesse Jackson’s center for 2 whole days straightHe paid a fine and will do/done community service.
Thats the precedent for this crime.
Justice has been served tbh.
Exactly.<modsnip>

Then they should have prosecuted him. But they didnt.
Well, Jesse must be close to broke after paying his legal team. His reputation is in tatters, and he's got few allies. He'll drop from sight soon enough, I highly doubt he'll be cast in the next Spielberg movie.
Just in case you haven't noticed, nearly everyone on this site is in the process of protesting. Just saying. There are Tons of other crimes where this very thing happens and the people who are upset are told they are wrong. Its how things work.
Maybe you should protest if you feel that strongly.
True. It happens quite oftenMaybe they should protest. (But dont block traffic! lol)
People who have evidence proving their crimes are let off all the time. Protests have been happening regularly for almost 5 years. Its America, this is hardly new.
True. It happens quite often
But in this particular case, the alleged victim went on a national press junket, detailing for the nation the horrors he experienced st the hands of 2 whites who tried to lynch him and who called him vile names and poured bleach on him
It was shocking and everyone gathered to support Jussie snd to revile the evil attackers in the MAGA hats
So when the evidence was found and it showed that it was not as he said at all but it was actually his 2 friends that pretended to attack him—-that is big news
He should not be able to pretend that he was telling the truth anymore. That is just continuing the hate crime hoax
Exactly. Every once in a while it is important to look at the big picture. Smollett takes the world for a fool when he claims that he did nothing wrong.
People who get away with committing fraud, such as impersonation and inciting social unrest, need to be called out. Letting people like that get away with it means they will do it again, but bigger.
No but it wasted the time and resources they could have used on those other cases. They could have been hunting down other criminals instead of getting caught up in this high profile media circus created by JussieYes but it did not cause any other crimes to happen. Saying so is just misleading.
I think that is what is so frustrating..........taking the world for a fool!
