AZ Nancy Guthrie, 84, (mother of TODAY Show host Savannah Guthrie) missing - last seen in the Catalina foothills area on Jan 31, 2026

I find it quite fascinating to watch this character at Nancy's door trying to work out how to obscure a camera AFTER it's already captured their image. I guess now it's clear why the initial kidnapping took so long, it's because they're a bumbling idiot. How they managed avoid capture thus far is a mystery.

I believe it’s because they had nothing to do with her disappearance at all. It’s basically a theatre performance…

Are you suggesting a random person attended Nancy's home within an hour of her going missing, and fumbled around at her front door with a ski mask, gloves, backpack and gun, and had nothing to do with her disappearance?

What, prey tell, do you think he was doing there if not abducting Nancy?

It's kinda strange because all of a sudden another Son-in-Law SIL has entered the chat....

We don't know her habits. A lot of people take Ubers regularly and know their drivers. It may have been her preference. If she was that butt hurt over it, she might have opted to stay home. Doesn't seem like she was.
I think NG had a pleasant experience with Uber and all went well. I just wish she took Uber home that night

The Sheriff originally mentioned 11 in an early presser when the family was alerted.
I never took that to mean on the dot though.
I’m getting confused on these posts. I thought someone was saying that it took NG family an hour to report her missing after arriving at her home so I was replying to that info. Yes your info is correct. Sorry, my bad.

What are you basing that the kidnapping took so long on?

The door nest camera disconnects at 1:47 a.m.
A figure (person/animal) is registered as being on camera at 2:12 a.m.
Nancy and her phone (which was found at her home) part ways a distance enough for her pacemaker app to show a disconnect at 2:28 a.m.

That is lightening fast considering Nancy had mobility issues.

Sidenote: Assuming this was a kidnap.

I still hold on to hope that somebody will recognize that gait. They may be unsure and debating whether to say anything. If it's not them and they call in a tip about it could cause a lot of speculation on an innocent person. Just my opinion that would be hard decision in a case like this.

Correct. We also know that LE knows where her phone was through router and cell tower connections and they say she was at home. LE is not lying about this. Still, other posters will continue to push this narrative to fit their theory after it has been explained repeatedly.
Playing devils advocate here...we know her phone's location and we know she wasn't with her phone at the 2am(ish) attempt to connect with the pacemaker. But we don't know for 100% certainty that she was with her phone at all that night.

I think there's also a role the media and all of us (yes!) in what's unfolded in the last few hours.

It hurts to say, especially knowing how much we crave information about Nancy's disappearance and true crime in general, but if the media hadn't been following every lead so closely and published every possible detail, and if we hadn't consumed every piece of it and wanting more, this event would have just happened on the down low.

Still traumatic for his family but without the infamy that will basically stay on the internet forever.
I think a kidnapping with ransom would always have been big news if the victim was white, female, and middle class or higher social status. It's just not a common crime in the US in the modern age, despite its prevalence in works of fiction. The risk/reward balance just doesn't make it worthwhile compared to other forms of crime for profit for the majority of people. Hacking, extortion, blackmail, and fraud are all lucrative and can be done remotely, without the messy complication of successfully abducting and controlling a human being, and doing so without anyone knowing that you have that person, alive or dead. It's just too much work. Too many points of failure, especially in the age of digital trails and cameras.

Random person entered at like 1:30 am or slightly later. NG proof of being gone from house was via Uber at 5:32pm. Not good at math, but that's like a gap of like 8 hours. She went missing 11:10am or so from digital church friends. I think the weirdos disconnecting security cameras where asked to do so by whomever caused Nancy's painful disappearance.

Yes, I’m suggesting that she was murdered and didn’t make it home at all, and this is a coverup. Read: staged.

You have no proof at all there is any footage of this person on the camera carrying her out of the house.

You act like you’re part of the FBI but I doubt you can provide evidence of this…

I think LE does. They have apple watch data which would track health signs and it is in bluetooth connection with her pacemaker until @2:30, I believe.

It didn’t take an hour to report NG missing. It was around 10 minutes. Where are you guys getting this data?
NG did not show up at friend's house for the 9am digital church sermon. Friends contacted NG family a short time after the digital mass ended and maybe breakfast at the local friend's house ended, so 11:10am. That local family member waited for about an hour, maybe I am wrong, to alert police Mom missing

Is there a confirmation from church friend she was supposed to go to friends house for service online and did not arrive so they contacted SIL and AG. I can't find a link.

Yes, but . . . .

Has it been verified that it was a 9 a.m. service because from my understanding there was two different services with two different times (which both included online viewing) like many churches have?

Good point...but if she typically took her watch off to charge around say 10pm for example, the heart rate etc data wouldn't show up. I don't have an apple watch so just guessing. If the pacemaker only attempts to connect at 2am ish then it may not be in continuous paring mode. But LE most definitely has all of that data imo

No. 7 minutes from when the family member arrived at Nancy's house, they called 911.
Here's the timeline established by the Pima County Sheriff and FBI.

Yes, the reason some were saying it took the family an hour to report her missing was because the sheriff originally MISREPORTED what time the family arrived at her home.

Originally he said they were called about 11 am and arrived at 11:10, then called 911 just before noon.

Recently he changed the timeline and has said they arrived at the house just before noon and called 911 quickly.
