es, I believe shareholder meetings dates, times info etc are public info. It might be part of financial disclosure laws. JMO....
This, however, was not a shareholders meeting.

This was an investors conference and, I thought I read somewhere, that though the details of the meeting were made easily accessible on line that the location was not made public.

I also could be making that up.

No, he was targeted. You can’t explain the bullet casing words otherwise.
Well you can. His target could have been any high ranking executive, and not specifically him.

I do believe he was targeting BT specifically though.

The shooter's weapon performed exactly as the shooter intended and expected it to perform. IMO
YES. Why people say it jammed is beyond me. This person expected that sort of action from the weapon. Single action is probably what keeps that particular weapon legal in the states where it can be purchased…

Different personality. Dzokhar was somewhat avoidant and dependent.

But I agree. Yesterday I typed something and didn't post it. The nasal bridge and the splay of eyebrows didn't look Russian to me. He looked like a mix - someone European + Turkish, for example. But for all I know, he can be just Italian. Or whatever.
All I noticed from the Starbucks' photo that his nose appeared to be somewhat large, but I didn't know if it was just the camera angle. Also hands appeared male to me. Fair skinned.

Don't know if that's him in the hostel photo, but bushy brows, long chin, appears ethnic ~ leaning toward Mediterranean. But he could be anything. Could just be a random white guy.

It jammed because of the suppressor. It didn't faze him. The jamming may even have been expected.
@MassGuy told me in another thread that suppressors are likely to cause jams, so i definitely think he was prepared for it to happen (of course supported by the fact that he didn't really miss a beat)

It turned out to be nothing. Curious also that it was dropped off by a female driver.
I wonder if it was a reporter (or I guess these days it could be a YouTuber or podcaster) hoping for an interview checking the mail in the mailbox to verify this was the correct address for the victim's family? So, the "thing" the wife saw the female driver putting into the mailbox was just the mail she had moments before pulled out (to check).

Listening to Dan Bongino today and his take on it was that it's possible that the suppressor jammed due to the shooter using incorrect ammo, and he suspected the shooter was more of an amatuer vs. a professional based on the video.

Also that the web of video cameras in NYC is unbelievable and it would be impossible for someone to slip away without leaving a trail for LE to follow them.
Yesterday it was stated that detectives determined that this guy was a excellent marksman, with previous training...possibly military.
So who knows? Different perceptions.

People are saying it jammed because he had to clear the weapon, which is why 3 unspent rounds were recovered in addition to the 3 spent casings.

I don't know if anyone else has been listening to the podcast "Kill List," but people attempting to hire someone to kill a current or former partner is upsettingly common. I also attend the Colorado Domestic Violence Fatality Review Board meetings for my work, and people killing a current or former partner themselves is even MORE distressingly common.

Like you, I am not casting aspersions on the wife. But romantic partners are logically among the first LE should investigate, even if just to rule them out.
Did you ever follow the Rusty Sneiderman story. Hemy Neumann was the shooter and lived in my neighborhood!!! He followed him to daycare drop off and shot him right after he dropped his child off. The media ran with the random shooting story, but as the story unfolded, a love triangle was exposed.

I also wonder whether it's not such a close timing as has been suggested, with the shooter showing up just minutes before and casually taking the time to stop at Starbucks on the way in.

Maybe the shooting was intended to be inside the hotel a bit later, but the shooter found an earlier opportunity when his target happened to walk past him before even entering the building?

MOO
That shooter didn’t want to enter the hotel if he could avoid it. He found his target, made sure no bystanders were hurt, and sped away unapprehended. Seems like that was the goal. This was very well planned, MOO, but the shooter still also got very lucky.

Every third person in high school asked if i had indian in me.

23/me says no.

Witnesses said the suspected gunman was seen waiting outside the hotel before the shooting, and knew which door Thompson was going to emerge from before shooting him at point-blank range.

So, let me get this straight ~ the gunman went to the assassination prepared to very likely having to go to war with a security detail (possibly numbering ten people !!!) ??? The gunman had no way of knowing that the CEO would take the one in a million route of opting to blow off his security detail that particular morning.
Or did he? Was Brian Thompson in the habit of traveling without a security detail or leaving them behind at times? Had the shooter been stalking Mr. Thompson long enough to know his habits?
