4 executives, including Thompson's own CEO (of the larger UHG), were purportedly under investigation. I hope they and those close to them are being meticulously ruled out.

I highly doubt he was able to obtain a fake passport. I would, however, be very interested to know how convincing the fake NJ driver’s license was.

This assumes he was a US citizen. He could have very well used his real Russian or Eastern European passport or a fake one. Everyone is looking at this with a very US centric lens. Think global. There are many places in the world where it is possible to obtain a fake passport if needed. Not easy but doable.

X always wears a beard and shaved it off coincidentally exactly when the murder was happening and then grew it back? makes me think he is a loner, which would benefit him going forward. sure, a lot of people most likely know him, but know him enough to say for sure that a partial face pic is him? probably not.

I've been going back and forth to that picture several times in the last 24 hrs, and yes keep saying to myself "could this be a female"? Def androgynous features, but I do believe they are male.

We have had UHC for years, and it has been an overall good insurance for us. Another poster talked about how a company's HR decides what level of coverage they offer to their employees.

I know that our last company must have picked one of the lowest coverages. We had $10,000 deductible each with us paying a lot out of pocket even with procedures that were covered. We also paid about $1,000 a month just for the coverage that we had.

Our insurance premiums shot through the roof with the passage of Obamacare. I have heard many are not satisfied with that coverage, either.

Insurance is private industry and has to make a profit to survive. IMO, it is there to cover the "Bell" curve and those unfortunate few that fall on the outer fringes are usually the ones who suffer most. In sum, life is not fair.

Bottom Line: I don't think that BT deserved to be murdered.

Posters explaining how health insurance works doesn't necessarily mean that they are defending the companies. Explanation where some may not understand is a good thing, IMO.

I believe that most people don't read their health insurance contracts just like they don't read their homeowner's insurance policies until after the fact. At least, I know that is what I am guilty of doing.

Because health insurance companies are made out to be the villains, I suspect if a procedure is covered (stated in the contract) and then denied through the appeal process and ends up in court, the insurance company will be heavily penalized.

Look at P, G & E utility company in CA that was polluting ground and water. They were sued, and the residents of Hinckley, CA, were paid a substantial amount of money. Juries would surely do the same (and probably have) done the same for health insurance lawsuits.

I worked in a hospital billing department for 9 years, and I can assure you that insurance companies do any and everything they can to get out of paying even services they authorized.

My former employer offered UHC at $1,200 per month, with a $13,000 deductible per person. It was absolutely horrible and the cost of prescriptions were outrageous. I had went there from the public sector, and due to one of my children developing a life-threatening illness went back into the public sector where my healthcare costs are per pay and capped at like 6,000 per person. Outrageous all around!!

I'm not seeing female - perhaps he has slightly androgynous features, but the chin and nose look quite masculine. The shadows from the hood on his eyelashes and sides of face might make the photo appear more feminine, but I think that's more of a trick of the light.

I think the jaw is covered by a scarf in the angular photo.

I know. It is a hassle. When I am billed and the coverage is rejected, I actually have had to go back to the doctor's office or hospital and tell them what "code" to use. Apparently, it's all in what "codes" are used for certain procedures.

We have also checked in this way; however, IIRC, you still need a valid credit card to reserve the room and also to be used as incidentals. I think that you have to also provide your "security" code when doing this, too.

Some do some don't. You often pay through some third party site which takes several forms of payments and it will specify which hotels require a hold or card for incidentals. You don't even need to show ID or speak with anyone. There are also plenty of airbnb's that operate in a fully automated way. You don't need to stay in a hostel to obscure your id.

Agreed. They obviously know now whether he spoke English with American accent of some sort or a foreign accent. I saw interview of another guy at hostel. He said he had 3-4 roommates. Someone heard him speak. Starbucks barista , front desk girl, the roommates. Taxi driver. Someone on first bus.

And why not release entire video from hostel surveillance to show mannerisms during the pulling down of mask to flirt.

Just odd not to release more of that video unless LE knows more than they are saying they do.
