Would the realistic mask be realistic enough to fool the staff at Starbucks or the hostel? That is where the face pics come from. If the masks are that good it is frightening and I really want to know.
here is a thought. Everyone says the guy looks like Timothee Chalamat. What if he was wearing a Chalamat flesh/silcone mask?

My husband has one he wore for Halloween. The eyes are not realistic (no blinking), even if the shooter wore a cover over his mouth. It would be effective in photos only, in my opinion.

I doubt it, and it's completely pointless anyway. He was wearing a mask over his face in the first place, and the only reason his face was exposed was because that desk clerk forced his hand. He could comply with her request and show his face, as most people would do, or he could refuse to do that, and draw attention to himself.

This was organic, and not him showing his face for the benefit of the camera.

I agree that it was organic and he was not wearing a realistic mask. Honestly, I doubt they are good enough to fool anyone in person but anyway I don’t think he was wearing one. I was just surprised and how realistic it looked in the video.

So why then has no one come forward saying they know him at least distantly? If there is no identification by tomorrow, I think there are only 2 options - either he was a foreigner with no ties to this country or he wore a flesh mask that completely changed his features.

I'm sure countless people have come forward saying they think they recognize him. Law enforcement has to prioritize and follow up on all those tips. I fully expect tomorrow to be a massive day as far as this investigation goes.

There's just no way in my mind that he's a foreigner or he wore some sort of mask. That's more Hollywood than real life.

Yea i dont think this is the guy.
Jacket has pockets on front. Hoodie is lighter in color and seems to be a part of a shirt under tge jacket. Its also missing the white line on top of the hood (logo?). Backpack is black.
These photos weren't taken on the same day. He spent 10 days in the city, and likely wore multiple jackets. Law enforcement is apparently very confident that these photos are of the same person. They have access to a lot of information and video that we don't.

We will know tomorrow. Sometimes life is stranger than fiction or Hollywood. You don't think him coolly shooting Thompson like that in the middle of Manhattan is strange in itself?

It's quite possible that someone -or several people- have already come forward to ID the suspect, but LE is keeping that information close to the vest for now, to avoid tipping their hand to the perp as they close in on him.

Are both of these pictures from the same place/time? Wonder why the first picture doesn't seem to show the backpack on his shoulder?
As far as I understood it, same time for both the pics. I’m thinking maybe he sat the backpack down in order to get his money out, show ID, sign anything, etc

Absolutely, and I don't expect them to release a name and photo once they do identify him. They'd try to quietly track him down first.

points that feel important

he knew Brian was leaving at the exact time
he could identify him
he knew Brian had no security
he knew Brian would be alone
a envelope with no letter is delivered to the home of his wife.
carved letters on the bullets

I think this is a personal dispute being dressed up to look like a another kind of plot.

I am very cynical about this,

if they get him he will have to talk. mOO
agree, though i wonder, first the hack/ ransom situation - how much information might be available (and cynically) related to specific family cases, what detail of distressing information of possibly denied claims resulting in who knows how much distress for relatives/ loved ones - i feel the potential for enormous pain may be included in health insurance case files and if that were public info, a lot of anger might be unleashed. further, factoring in the dollar amounts - ceo earning, corp earnings, there is certainly a potential for taking *any* grievance personally. and secondly, just the magnitude of revenue vs. the difficulty of so many to meet the costs of healthcare, leaves a moral/ ethical issue that may drive someone to this.

Its alleged that unitedhealthcare was using an ai system that was denying claims that should've been approved. You are right about the level of coverage, however the main issue seems to be that the insurance company was refusing to cover things that they were supposed to.

Please correct me if im wrong
I have had to fight with our insurance company over several things over the years so I can fully understand the anger that is being reported in MSM, social media, etc. This is not the forum to go into details, but it often seems like it is almost “standard” to deny a claim because so many people either don’t know they can fight the denial, don’t have the mental or emotional ability to fight or are just too overwhelmed with everything else that they don’t pursue it. If insurance companies deny a claim and the insured (or someone on their behalf) doesn’t fight it, the insurance companies profit. It is mind-staggering to even begin to understand how this rampant abuse leads to outrageous profits of these companies.

I feel for the family of Brian and don’t condone his murder, whatever the motive is, but I do hope that this may lead to more scrutiny and changes in an industry that seeks to profit off of people when they are most in need of care and compassion.

In my limited experience following cases on WS I have noticed a tendency to think a murderer that has not been caught yet is a criminal mastermind who has special skills that are helping him evade capture.I do this. So far every criminal in a case I have followed has ended up being a dumb 🤬🤬* who just got lucky.
In this case there are things that make me think he was working with someone and had some sort of training and had a well thought out plan.
But I have been wrong before!

This guy arrived incredibly early if his original target was BT. I have to wonder if he had someone else in mind, and pivoted at some point.
Not really, especially if he wasn’t familiar with NYC. Plenty of time to arrive, work out a plan, figure out an escape route, etc. I wouldn’t be surprised if he did a few practice runs (for lack of a better term).
