Possible. I understand folks fake those kinds of things to avoid social interactions sometimes, but probabilities suggest he was actually on the phone. It's more probable that he was communicating with an accomplice, especially since it turns out this was a burner phone. Why have a burner phone without an accomplice(s)? Setting up a cab? Bus? Then why leave the phone on scene?

My first impression was that he targeted the leg to kick off the pain that was about to unfold.

You could speculate that shot #1 was "defend" - defending society against a threat in the mind of the shooter; shot #2, if calf, was "deny" and #3 was "depose". If he took the time to etch the words, the sequence must have crossed his mind. We've seen more bizarre things.

While certainly not proof of conspiracy, a phone call on a burner phone just prior to a murder is compellingly suggestive of coordination with other folks or factions.

Disagree, minutes before the assassination he was in Starbucks, what would happen if BT decided to leave his room earlier than he did? the 10 days of planning and all the money wasted, someone was informing him of BT’s movements that morning

I just doubt he would be senior enough to have day to day dealings with, or fired by BT if he got sacked by his line manager I would imagine his anger/wish for vengeance would be aimed at his line manager not BT

I definitely agree on the point that he wouldn't have had daily contact with Thompson (or ever had contact with him), but I wouldn't put it outside the realm of possibility that he blamed the CEO. I knew someone who was fired from a truck stop chain who ranted and raved against the CEO and Board of Directors like they had personally fired him. It struck me as a sort of egomaniac-esque reaction - the 40-something woman with a HS degree didn't fire him, it must've been the BoD.

It's not my leading theory, just a potential possibility. I think there's a huge potential gap here that he might've been identified quicker if he was a fired consultant, but outside of the Leopold and Loeb theory or the fired highly paid employee/consultant theory, I'm struggling to reconcile the seeming wealth of the shooter (ultra expensive jacket, the weapon) with someone who had expended their resources trying to get healthcare for a loved one after a denied claim; as well as the brazenness of the shooter.

When I look at the Central Park map, it lists Heckscher Ballfields.

I think the reason this is not discussed much is because someone always responds that he might have been faking a call or adjusting his hoodie.

Also, according to one of the timelines from msm he was seen appearing to talk on the phone 3 minutes after Starbucks..with nothing but the phone in his hands. This seems noteworthy to me.

Not that I'm a believer in this theory, but those that feel it could've been a planned suicide might speculate the person on the other end was BT himself.

Rutger's Law Thanksgiving break was Thursday, Nov. 28 to Dec 1.

The perp has been in NYC since Nov 24 and only departed Dec 4, so he would have been absent for an extra week. Not a difficult thing to check, and I imagine the college has already had a quiet visit from LE.

Hmm, good catch. It might have even been less noticeable if he only had classes twice a week. So, let's say he only had classes Tuesday/Thursday, he would've just missed classes on the 11/26 and 12/3.

I keep thinking about how the perp paid for cash for everything for 10 days. If this is true, it must’ve been a huge amount of money he was carrying around. And it seems like it would have to be in smaller bills rather than large bills to keep from attracting attention every time he bought something. I suppose he could have stashed cash in one of those waist packs that travelers wear under their clothes.

True but I think if he wanted to do that he would do the job in Minnesota, a couple of clean shots when BT leaves his house to go to work, much less chance of getting caught as few if any cameras near BT’s house.

I would be surprised he wasn’t watched on Monday and Tuesday.
Just wondering why there’s no leaks on what his Monday afternoon/evening and Tuesday looked like. Was he followed?
And if we hear his killer stayed at Lux that one unaccounted night, honestly I wouldn’t be surprised bc this is such an intriguing case and everything out of a Grisham novel.
