Just for clarity… so many conflicting reports.

Have they recovered the exact e bike he used?

Originally it was said he was on a city e bike then his own personal e bike he must have got himself.

I only ask because for me the big question isn’t so much how he got back to a bus station to get out of town after…

But where he stopped to leave(ditch) the bike and catch a cab (reported today) to the bus station. Where it’s reported he caught the same bus line back to Atlanta.

Moo.. I’d assume the point at which he leaves the e bike behind before catching the cab…. Is the only time he actually stops and it’s not for long. So this is also when / where I assume he changed clothes and got rid of the weapon and picked up his items, clothes he’d been traveling with to leave. Again moo.. I’d guess this is when he changes his outfit / appearance enough to not be so obviously the man in all the surveillance photos. To make the last part of his getaway without being recognized. I mean he got a cab next.

Again MOO. This stop must have been well concealed and locker of some type. Or even storage closet to pick up what he needed and leave the bike behind concealed.

just trying to add up the facts to make more sense of it all.

Hard to believe he’d go to so much effort concealing identity and commit such a crime with an attempt to get away… and get on the same bus he came in on. Essentially locking himself into the bus for however long to the next stop.

Just seems very risky and not in line with his need to remain in control of his getaway if cops closed in on him and the bus sooner… which was possible… given all the mistakes he made… that would be a hard situation to escape.

Just curious if anyone else knows more or if they have reported anymore on this.
Not sure, but I think he stopped first in Central Park to ditch the backpack. From what I've seen about where the backpack was found, it doesn't seem like he flung it while he was riding up Center Drive in the park. See aerial view of the park with red circle in this article. I am not certain that they know he GOT on a bus...
I know I read one of the msm articles that stated, they saw him enter the bus station but did not see him exit.

Investigators believe the masked gunman ultimately left town after footage showed him walking into a Port Authority bus center near 178th Street and Broadway about an hour after the shooting — but no cameras show him exiting the station, Kenny said.

Does anyone have a clearer indication that he actually got on a bus??? tia.

Adams backtracking. I’m sure law enforcement let him know they weren’t happy with his comments:

An Update from the New York Post on the Reuters report this afternoon which stated New York City Mayor Eric Adams’ said police knew the name of the suspect in the Brian Thompson murder investigation ⬇️

“We don’t want to release that now,” Adams said. “If we do, we are basically giving a tip to the person we are seeking and we do not want to give him an upper hand at all. Let him continue to believe he can hide behind the mask. We revealed his face. We’re going to reveal who he is and we’re going to bring him to justice.”

The mayor’s office later clarified his answer to explain that he meant officials didn’t want to say whether or not they have the killer’s name.

The mayor also commended the “tri-state law enforcement partnership” for the investigation so far.

“And the manner in which they were able to follow his footsteps to recover evidence – some of it is known, some of it is unknown – but the net is tightening and we’re going to bring this person to justice,“ Adams said.

"The bus the suspect is believed to have boarded out of the city made six or seven stops, and investigators have followed leads in multiple states, the sources said."

I believe any bus leaving out of the GWB terminal would make at least six or seven stops.

May be hiding in same city, others would gladly hide him out. I believe this will set a trend. The CEO's that have gotten death threats will hire security teams now.

If I were the FBI, I would be spending some quality time in NJ, checking out the coincidences in this story:

1. Fake NJ ID
2. Bus he arrived on that starts in Atlanta also has it's next to the last stop in Newark, NJ
3. Rutger's Law School has the Delay, Deny, Defend book in it's law school curriculum ( the author was on Rutger's staff)
4. Exit timing on bus could also have returned to various points in NJ.
5. He is clearly comfortable and experienced staying in a hostel. He has done this before.

I just have the feeling that the perp is from the Northeast or Greater New York, New Jersey area. If New Jersey, he would likely have made trips into NYC as a student, and probably also stayed in a hostel, although maybe not that one. He was clearly comfortable with the situation in a hostel, and had planned to be as inconspicuous and as isolated as possible. I'm convinced he has stayed in hostels before. He has cash, but he is not spending lavishly. Outside of the weapon, not much more has been expensive, as far as we can say.
I still believe there's a NJ connection. I think he's American and has traveled abroad. It's very common for students/young adults to stay in hostels as they travel, not just because they're cheaper, but because you meet lots of other travelers. Hostels around the world have a very similar business model. In my experience, most Americans that are budget minded don't even think of a hostel stay in the US. A few years ago I stayed at a really nice one in LA. Everyone I know family/friends had no idea that the US had hostels.

The reward increase worried me. Maybe they need more of the public’s help? If that were the case, I think they would release where the bus was going maybe and if they thought he had an accent not.I don’t know.
I didn’t know reward had increased…. But could it be to turn an accomplice? I don’t think he had accomplice as too dangerous for this very reason but could be police theory.

Why an e-bike and not just a normal bike?
My e-bike is much faster than I can pedal. I bet he thought he could get away easier because if he needed to take off across a lawn he could do that, too. He could ride between cars, etc. I just think it would be much handier.

No, they only said he entered and they don't see him exit. For now, there is no sign of him after he entered the bus station (as far as we know).
Maybe he went into disguise here on after

I agree. It seems it's by the lake at the north end of the mall. ?? That is not south of the carousel as previously reported.

If he threw the gun in the lake, he wasn't on the route I thought he was.

Eventually we will know, but I want the details now. :)

Oh he absolutely did put a lot of effort into it, which is why this whole thing is so remarkable.

We just don’t see this level of commitment and planning, like ever. He seemingly thought of everything, and knew exactly what he was doing.

Had he done this like 30 years ago, he probably gets away with it.

And may still, unfortunately. Let's hope they are really closing in and not just giving the media lip service to influence public opinion. Its no accident the mayor is doing all the talking and not LE.

JMO.

the anger usually comes from the insurance company denying things that the contract says they should cover.
Not necessarily. Having something denied which the policy is stated to cover would justifiably cause anger. But many assume things will be covered and then flip out when they’re not, whether it’s a $20 copay or a lifesaving experimental procedure costing many thousands of $. Medical benefits are a very emotional matter. Dealing with health issues and $ (never mind the customer service frustrations) can cause much angst.

Authorities have the name of Brian Thompson's suspected killer: NYC Mayor Adams

By Georgia Worrell and Tina Moore
Authorities have the name of the suspect who assassinated United Healthcare CEO Brian Thompson and are closing in, Mayor Adams said Saturday.

“The net is tightening,” the mayor told reporters at a Police Athletic League holiday party in Harlem.

I think this is bluffing and they are nowhere near having a name for the suspect but they want him to think they do so that he starts making mistakes to inadvertently out himself. Jmoo.

We we we.....this guy really wants to insert himself as being part of the investigation.
Credit goes to the NYPD and FBI. THEY are doing the investigation.
Ok, maybe I'm being picky.

At this point, I think he took a bus and went to EWR, and immediately got on a plane and left the country, flying to a point in the western hemisphere, like Costa Rica, Belize, Mexico…

He may have told his friends/colleagues that he was taking a vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday to explain his recon time in NYC. Then he did the murder and escaped immediately to another country where he maybe plans to stay. He could probably have flown to South or Latin America on a morning flight from Newark. I believe most flights to Europe would be evening flights from JFK. That would mean hanging around NY all day, which would be too risky.

And if he got a fake NJ ID, he might have been able to get a different fake passport so they couldn’t track him under his real name or the fake NJ murderer name. (I wonder how difficult it is to get a fake passport.)

I just think he’s left the country because with his face being on all the media, I feel like they would have located him by now within the US. Surely someone who knows him has contacted the authorities and identified him. BTW, I think this guy has some money.

Just speculating JMO.
thought just crossed my mind: perhaps he wasn't caught off guard smiling at the flirtatious woman in the hostel; perhaps he exposed a partial view of his face intentionally. as i understand it, he'd spent 10 days in nyc but even eating he remained masked. that takes enormous discipline, i would think, and his actions throughout have been enigmatic and elusive. granted a pretty face often derails one's intentions, but judging from his appearance a women flirting with him wouldn't surprise him at all. perhaps the exposing was cat-and-mouse mind gaming, or perhaps what we saw was not partially his face but partially a mask, if that were true, nypd/ fbi would have nothing to work with whatsoever, which imo might be close to true anyway. if the 'glimpse' we have were a mask he may never be tracked and could then be flying somewhere with his legitimate passport. of course, that *must* be a far-fetched speculation - i doubt it could be true - but this is day four - it's already a far-fetched case...

Adams needs to stop talking, or read a script and step off the podium. No questions.

ok? what's the purpose of defending health insurance companies in this thread? the point is the anger is real and is almost definitely the motive here.
