Are these the same Mangione's that own Turf Valley Country Club?!
Ellicott City is expensive and very trendy (or it used to be when I lived in MD back in the day).

JMO.

@alcaprari23

The fake ID found on Luigi Mangione during his arrest and a photo of the arrest outside the Altoona, PA McDonald's where an employee called 911 after recognizing him from NYPD photos.

I saw that somewhere. His grandfather owned countryclubs, nursing homes and other things.

It was Simple Trespass per your image (see highlight I added below).

Thank you! I don’t how I missed that lol (currently battling bronchitis, I’ll blame that)

Interesting! I wonder where he was trespassing. Will be interesting to see if they can tie any threats on BT (that his wife mentioned) to him.

Also even though they have a manifesto, if he opts for not guilt plea, I hope they do match crime scene evidence to his dna (even though someone last night insisted they were confident no dna was left behind.)

I know all the evidence is pointing to him but... those pictures from the taxi and hostel just don't look that much like him to me. In his online photos he's well built, in the photos police released the person is very slim.

Does he have a slim brother or cousin lol?
He does look slimmer now. Maybe if he's had health issues resulting in insurance woes resulting in losing his sh#t, that could be why. Who knows.

Did police have the fake ID or just the name? I thought that I read on WS that the name was researched and there was no such person. So, I'm thinking that they didn't have his photo. That is LM in that photo. Is that how fake ID's are made--with your actual photo and just fake info? Is that LM's real birthday? 1998 would make him 26.
yes, fake IDs are made with your real picture and fake name and birthdate.

I do wonder about mental illness. (Not saying he has an insanity defense). JMO.

The headmaster of the private school where the UnitedHealthcare CEO shooting suspect graduated from sent an email to parents and members of the school community, calling the news “deeply distressing.”

“This is deeply distressing news on top of an already awful situation. Our hearts go out to everyone affected,” Gilman School Head of School Henry P.A. Smyth said in the email.

The Gilman School is a private school in Baltimore for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Smyth acknowledged Luigi Mangione graduated in 2016 but said the school has no other information other than what’s being reported in the news.

Image of the fake ID in the article.

I wonder why LE did not release it with the name redacted. It's Mangione's distinctive face! He would have been caught quicker.

I don't believe they had the actual ID until today, LE probably had the name and after doing some investigating realized it was a stolen name with a fake ID. Today when arrested they found the actual fake ID he used on him.

Just consider f he had gotten rid of the incriminating evidence like the gun, fake id's, manifest, etc... and had his real ID he probably would have gone on his merry way. I doubt LE would have delved much into his activities. His bad decision to keep all that stuff was his undoing. We were all so sure he had dumped everything and I believe investigators were too.

For more than a year, Luigi Mangione was a member of Hub Coworking Hawaii, a coworking space in the Kakaako neighborhood of Honolulu.

“Nothing strange,” said Nam Vu, a co-founder of the coworking space. “He was a nice guy.”

Mangione often came in with peers from Surfbreak, a “coliving” space for “digital nomads” and remote workers with locations in Honolulu and Puerto Escondido, Mexico. Vu didn’t speak with Mangione much, since he was one of many customers, he said.

Vu would not specify what year Mangione signed up for a membership, but he said the membership had been inactive for more than a year. Vu hasn't seen him in that time, he said.

Timeline of events

Graphic showing movements during the morning that Brian Thompson was killed

On Wednesday 4 December UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson was shot dead outside of a hotel in New York City. Today, police announced they had arrested 26-year-old Luigi Mangioni in connection with the shooting. Here's how the past week unfolded:

  • 4 December: Thompson is shot at around 06:45 EST (11:45 GMT).
  • 4 December: At 06:48, the suspect enters Central Park. Shortly before 07:00 he left the park and at 07:04 took a cab to the Port Authority bus terminal. He was not spotted on any cameras leaving the station, so the presumption is that he left on a by bus.
  • 4 December: Thompson was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai West Hospital
  • 5 December: Police released two new photos showing a "person of interest", wearing dark clothing but no face mask.
  • 5 December: Three shell casings found at the scene of the crime had the words "deny", "defend" and "depose" written meticulously on them with a marker pen
  • 6 December: NYPD says the suspect arrived in the city on a bus that originated from Atlanta 10 days before the shooting. It is unclear where the suspect caught the bus along its route
  • 6 December: A backpack that police believe belonged to the suspect is found in Central Park and sent for forensic testing. Police say the suspect scoped the area before implementing the attack
  • 8 December: Search for murder weapon under way in Central Park with a team of divers deployed
  • 9 December: Mangioni is apprehended at a McDonald's in Altoona, Pennsylvania, after an employee there spotted him and alerted the police. They call him a "strong person of interest"

We have to remember that social media is global, and is chocked full of nefarious actors hell bent on destabilizing our culture via any means it can. They go into high gear when its regarding divisive ideological issues.

JMO.
Foreign actors are worrisome, and I do not doubt that they are working right now to foment discord on a variety of topics.

I wonder, though, whether Americans need any help drumming up anger over the state of health insurance. I truly don't think this many people would respond so callously about the brutal murder of the CEO of, say, Starbucks (even if they do some "bad stuff").

The negative impact of the health insurance industry is personal and deeply negative—often life-ruining—for many. I have healthcare providers in my life who spend way too much of their free time arguing with insurers (UHC is among the worst) about what medications will be covered.

I walked by where BT was shot on Saturday. There was only one single flower marking where he died. I think that says a lot about where people are at in 2024. It's not a good place to be.

PLEASE READ.
STOP WITH THE SPECULATION ON HIS SEXUALITY. IT DOES NOT MATTER. MOVE ON. YES, I AM ANGRY. THIS IS UNNECESSARY.
NEXT POSTER THAT GOES OFF TOPIC ABOUT HIS SEXUALITY WILL GET TO.
THANK YOU,
TRICIA

Deeply annoyed that while everyone was discussing whether he was Iranian/Russian/etc yesterday after the taxi pics were released I posted that he reminded me of Christopher Moltisanti and it was being deleted it for being “off topic” :( JK mods, I know you guys have a huge task keeping us all on topic here… but dang! His name could not POSSIBLY be more Italian lol

He does resemble him. But, he also (to me) looks like he could be brothers with Brian Kohberger.

Yeah, I just watched his valedictorian speech video and I do see the facial similarities now. Kind of birdlike around the eyes and nose. Very distinctive eyebrows.

FYI: "“Imagine a society that subjects people to conditions that make them terribly unhappy then gives them the drugs to take away their unhappiness,’’ Kaczynski wrote at one point in a quote liked by Mangione.

“Science fiction It is already happening to some extent in our own society. Instead of removing the conditions that make people depressed modern society gives them antidepressant drugs. In effect antidepressants are a means of modifying an individual’s internal state in such a way as to enable him to tolerate social conditions that he would otherwise find intolerable.’’

The manifesto said the suspect acted alone, sources said."

The article states that his grandfather and grandmother had passed away separately but within the last several years and LM had also worked in a nursing home.
Moreover, I wonder if LM had been in some sort of accident and had received treatment and subsequently been placed on anti-depressants in order to cope.

He actually looks a lot like the person whose ID he apparently stole.

IMO
That is because it is his picture on the fake ID. The rest is made up info.

His undoing was Starbucks and McDonald’s!
