Same, I don’t see arrogance but he seems very downcast. If he has already spoken to his parents, then it will be even more real to him now. They must be heartbroken.
I think that both are deceased (posted in a DailyMail article).

Wow. So sorry about your son. I hope the screws in the back are working out well for him. Back issues are terrible - the back affects every move you make.

Kudos to you for getting the surgery approved. So many people who are sick, elderly, tired and in chronic pain have no one to advocate for them. To spend hours working through the hoops, the paperwork, the endless, circuitous phone trees, always bumping you from one department to another, then putting you on hold for hours.....

If I know what Tricia means when she talks about her "head exploding" regarding these threads, it's because I've dealt with insurance companies!

Exactly! I have BCBS and they deny everything and I'm too tired to fight them and have no advocate. It's exhausting.

Both of his parents are deceased. The article from the DailyMail said that his mother passed away in 2013 (after the father had passed away). So, I wonder if he received survivor benefits and what that entails. Is this a lifetime thing or are you cut off at a certain age? Maybe, he had to stay in school to keep receiving the benefits?? I don't know.

I thought they were very rich?

Officials trying to determine where X-ray of back with screws came from

Tom Winter and Jonathan Dienst
A post on one of Mangione’s social accounts features an X-ray of a back with screws in it. Investigators are working to determine whether the X-ray is his or that of a relative and whether it has anything to do with Thompson's slaying, two senior law enforcement officials told NBC News.

Do we REALLY know he has a back injury, or could this be part of the message and his game? He did shoot Brian in the back

I suppose the fact that none of us seem to be able to come up with other effective pathways for change is telling. And scary. Who is is charge, corporations or the People?

I was reading up on federal murder and when it can be charged.

Crossing state lines to commit murder is listed. I wonder if they would consider this.
Very interesting! If you have a link, please share. He might be facing federal charges.

From the article:
“Further details on that relative or their identity have not been shared, although online obituaries show Mangione lost a grandmother in 2013 and a grandfather in 2017.”

It might seem pedantic but it's an important point; healthcare is not "free" here, it annoys me when people say that it is.

We pay for it but not at the point of use. The payment is in the form of a higher tax burden. It's actually really expensive!
It is free at the point of service though. The co-payment and co-insurance portions of a spinal fusion surgery in the USA can more than offset the 7% (at top rate) difference in income tax, easily.

I'm not sure that LM had 10 siblings?? I thought that it was his father with the 10-sibling family. I don't know how many bros and sisters LM had??
probably his dad. I've seen social media photos and family events look like a boatload of grandchildren of which he appears from the same generation. Hadn't seen the 10 kids but it makes sense from the photo I'm referring to

An FBI agent speaking to CNN, said that was a real possibility.

Loved ones raised concerns about suspected UnitedHealthcare CEO shooter days before killing

Those close with Luigi Mangione reportedly shared messages on X letting them know they were worried about him in the days leading up to UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson's assasination.

Posts viewed by The Daily Beast showed loved ones tried to reach out and connect with him before the killing.

'Thinking of you and prayers everyday in your name,' wrote user @Collin30923201P on November 25. 'Know you are missed and loved.'

The day prior, the suspected shooter is believed to have arrived in New York City and checked into a hostel on November 24.

'@PepMangione Hey, are you ok? Nobody has heard from you in months, and apparently your family is looking for you,' wrote X user @TheRealMandusa on October 30.

I can’t imagine, I’m sure they had been teling their friends extended family how well he was doing in school and the wonderful grades he received and now this, has to be heart breaking for them know how well known they are in the area. I know someone that has a grandson that was talked up about with everybody then he f’d up in prison for life. Now it’s oh he left and went south a doesn’t talk to family. Can’t bring themselves to tell the truth.
