Aaron Cranston, a former classmate of Mangione at Gilman School in Baltimore, said that Mangione was a smart and ambitious student and that it was hard to understand him being suspected in such a crime. The two did not remain close after high school, but Cranston said he and other peers were forwarded a message earlier this year because Mangione’s family was trying to track him down. Cranston said the message reported that family members had not heard from Mangione for several months following a back surgery.

Wow. He looks SO slim compared to his old 2019 pictures. Looks like he may have lost A LOT of weight. Perhaps from the injury or illness or something else? Interesting!
Injuries and recovery of said injuries can be hard on the body.
The body eventually uses the muscle mass as a reserve of energy to recover the rest of the body, so it can be gone quick!

when this first happened, i said prep school, student who wrote a paper on the healthcare system, thinks he has saved the world. I think that is right but I do not think he imagined the court case or the victim impact statements he will need to hear from the family or what his family will say.

Probably just lost muscle since he could no longer workout or lift heavy after his injury.

Pretty sure that is him. With his AI knowledge and 3D printer capabilities (probably), this guy knows how to create stuff. If he can make a whole gun, he can make his own fake IDs with his own pic.

As always, JMO.

3D printing isn't extremely difficult.
However, hacking and making realistic FAke ID would be.

I haven't seen any hint in his travel or MO thst he was "planning to continue on with shootings" with the false implication there had already been plural shootings. These talking heads are pathetic.
What, exactly, is his MO?

He could have sat outside to eat it, that would make more sense.

It was rainy and in the 40s in Altoona this morning.

It's America's dirty little secret that so many have no health care access or are destroyed by medical debt. It's been a serious problem since the early 2000's, grown much worse in recent years.

it's really no secret JMO

The friend, RJ, is being interviewed on CNN is asked whether Mangione had written privately about health care or capitalism.

The friend said that he talked about social issues and how to improve the world, in conversations that were “natural” if you were inquisitive, he says.

He never had a conversation where Mangione talked about guns or violence, the friend says.

I wonder who he lived with. Did he still live at home with his family? I seem to recall reading somewhere that they were estranged. I wonder if he had roommates, or if he lived alone. Did he even have a job?

Imagine graduating from an Ivy league school and not being able to find work, or hold a job. I remember back when I graduated, it was considered "embarrassing" if you didn't get hired shortly after graduation, or during.

I guess more will come out in the next week or so, once people who know him start giving interviews to the press. JMO
He did have a job until 2023. He also had the injury in 2023 according to a friend. And since then he isolated himself from friends, and family, kind of went off grid. Friends were worried sent messages, and family tried to get in touch with him.

His former roommate had very little to offer on the spine injury. Just that Luigi sent him that spine pic and told him it was his.

Any descriptions of his voice ?

think he wanted to get caught.
part of his narcissism but dont know enough yet
It has been reported that he had a laptop. I think he wanted to use the wifi. It was noted when he was approached by LE that LE told him to drop his mask. So, that tells me he wasn't eating, because how could he if he was wearing a mask?

Next time, the perp should shave their eyebrows and draw new ones on, and remove it after the crime, so everyone will be confused.
ug damning eyebrows Brian Kohburger? ... Pennsylvania? more coincidences

Strong looking upper body, skinny lower body -- very common among those who do a lot of upper body workouts but can't do lower body work due to injury or disease.

According to NYT: a classmate who was in the same Penn fraternity said Mangione mentioned in Feb 2023 that he had suffered a spine injury.

Adding to my post: someone in a previous thread, many posts ago, speculated upon seeing the photo of Mangione walking outside the cab that his back was hunched. I thought he was hiding something under the puffer jacket, but could it also have been due to this spinal injury?
