I feel nothing but sadness when I look at his photo. It's all just heartbreaking. He had so much promise, every possible advantage, and threw it all away....ruined so many lives. It's very sad.

Pic from the article you posted. Looks like I might have been on to something with the reason Luigi wore masks. If he's wearing one all alone on a rockclimbing wall... he's doing it because of Covid. JMO So, it might have been more than trying to hide his face. It would also be why he had a box of masks in his backpack (someone posted that info and source above)

I lived in Hawaii from Jan 21 to July 23 and masks were REQIRED still until like fall of 2022 I think it was, maybe even longer. They had a mask mandate for longer than any other state so if he was living there in 22-23, then it's possible that it was required for him to wear the mask while indoors at this rock climbing gym.

If he was departing the US with more than $10k USD, he would be required to report it.

So if he tried to use $8k USD and about $2k in another currency, he could technically say he had less than $10k USD.

Of course, not all passengers are stopped and asked this question, but it seems like another maneuver to avoid interrogation.

Yes, you should follow laws, he doesn't. He possibly could have avoided interrogation if he provided his real ID instead of the fake one too. Or, if he did other smart law-abiding things

From Court: Luigi Mangione had a black 3D printed pistol, metal slide and plastic handle. Also six 9mm Full Metal Jacket rounds, at least one hollow point bullet, and a silencer that was also 3D printed.

The Commonwealth alleged when asking that bail be denied that he also was in possession of $8K in USD and $2K in foreign currency. Also bags that are utilized to block the transmission of cellular data.

In a strange moment, Luigi interjected and rejected those accusations. He said someone must have planted the money, because he was not in possession of that much. He also says the bags are waterproof and meant to keep his electronics dry.


Mangione says he has not had contact with his family recently, has no drug or alcohol issues and has no criminal history. He first gave the judge his childhood home address, but then when pressed, revealed his most recent address in Hawaii.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for 12/23/24. Mangione asked if he could decide later if he would retain private counsel or would rely on a public defender.

He was tall, about 6"1. He walked with his head up and made eye contact with the judge and the Commonwealth when they were speaking. He was barefoot and cuffed around waist and ankles. He spoke eloquently, with confidence. He appeared coherent and understood what was going on.

He did not have an attorney present. He was allowed to speak when answering questions for the judge to decide if bail should be granted. He said he would decide later if he was going to retain private counsel or a public defender ahead of his prelim on 12/23/24.

Hospitals do not allow high risk surgeries for the uninsured due to liabilities & the possibility that, if something were to go wrong, they could be on the hook for life support for years and years.

I had a hole in my heart that opened up due to as yet undiagnosed Lyme Disease. My high dollar highest value insurance refused to cover the lifesaving repair. The hospital refused to allow cash payment. Only because my enraged surgeon used extreme leverage did they finally relent.

I'll never forget telling the insurance employee on the phone "I'm perfectly functional other than this unexpected bizarre blip caused by a seed tick the size of a grain of ground black pepper and you're telling me to GO CRAWL IN A DITCH AND DIE??? She responded calmly that she never mentioned a ditch.

10 years later and I'm still here but only because my surgeon was infuriated enough to threaten big guns.

Yes, that's a very good point. But I see, and know a lot of people, that think those ill-fitting masks with gaps at the cheeks and nose do a good job (they don't).

I believe the friend of his that was interviewed on CNN mentioned he had back pain that occurred while surfing.

That could be during his time in in Hawaii, but he is also seen with a blue shirt that says 'Bali", so it may have been elsewhere.

There was a point here where I live when the surgical masks were impossible to find. Depending on the date of the pic, that could've been all he could get.
