This has nothing to do with the pike county murders, but with GW3 attorneys latest motion I hope nothing like this happens in the Wagner’s cases.
Just seen on the news Mahoning County Assistant Prosecutor resigned today after being placed on indefinite paid administrative leave and dismissed her from prosecuting an aggravated murder case because the defense claimed the Assistant Prosecutor maid not provide an important video to the defense team in a “timely fashion”.

MO
I'm confused.
Are we talking about the Proffer Recording?

MO AC can always argue against releasing the Proffer Recording. She can find a legal argument to use. I don't know what it would be though.
MO The Judge will also find a legal way to allow her more time.
I hope and pray your right. Yesterday I was reading up on proffers. From what I read there are rights that the defense has that can cause a proffer to hurt or help the defense. The state takes the gamble when the proffer is turned over, usually in a plea deal. Once it’s introduced into evidence it is the rights of the defense to receive it.

Most of the rumors pushed during the first months of the investigation were complicated schemes worthy of a 70's tv movie. They assumes the w's were some sort of criminal masterminds and worked together like a trained seal team. As it turned out, the W's were idiots. In addition to committing the crimes, they left a trail a blind man could follow. Basic common sense did not apply to their participation. Virtually nothing they did showed any sort of thought, preparation, or skill.
No, they did not use Four-wheelers or anything other than the trucks the Police found so easily.
Somehow, I bet DeWine and Reader listened to Leonard Manley on the day of the murders and did not have any other suspects.

Do you Sluthers think that the Proffers has not been turned over because another crime could be named on it, maybe another cold case that has the prosecution in a bad place to turn it over because there maybe another murder walking around free? JMO

Reader got ignored and/or held back a long time. He was ready to make arrests long before they did. I have always thought he knew early on who was likely involved. I am sure he was told a lot by Rs and Ms that couldn’t be ignored.
My opinion only...

Mo
Another crime could be revealed, although I don't think the criminal is running around free. He may already be in jail.

I agree.
MO
They just didn't have the physical evidence.

No. If Jake links the prosecuton to more crimes then Scheiderer will lead a BCI investigation to dig up all the facts on it to get evidence. Then it goes to the prosecutor then Grand Jury then maybe arrests.

Just because Jake talks about a separate crime does not mean it happened. Would have to be completely investigated. Has nothing to do with his proffer because it hasn't been proven.

Interesting. On the flip side of that, there was a recent murder case in Cleveland where the killers (who were caught on security camera) were freed due to a mistrial. It seems someone "inadvertently" slipped some papers into the jurors' evidence information packets that they weren't supposed to see. Bingo! Perps get out of jail free.

One of the killers was Simone Bile's brother. No shade on Simone, though. Their mother, a drug addict, abandoned them as children and they were raised by two different relatives in very different environments.

Mistrial declared in murder trial of Simone Biles’ brother

Yes, there are lots of dirty tricks that can happen in trials, but I doubt AC would do that. First, there's no need, she has a strong case. Second, she wouldn't put her and DeWine's political careers at risk by doing something so unnecessary.

It was in October 2016 Reader gave that interview about believing it was locals.

Also by October 2016 BCI wasn't bugging the Manleys as much.

So what on earth was BCI doing from October 2016 until the Wagner searches in May 2017?

Why were they not looking at the Wagners and then suddenly in spring 2017 the tables turned and voila! The Wagner's are prime suspects and laser focus is on them. Apparently the only prime suspects.

PIKETON, Ohio -- It wasn't a Mexican drug cartel. The killers weren't from another country.

The people who wiped out eight members of a family in Pike County last April are likely locals.

At least, that's the theory Pike County Sheriff Charles Reader is leaning toward. For the first time since the killings, Reader recently sat down with a reporter to discuss the investigation at length and in depth.

"That's my belief," he said.

"Whoever did this had to know the dog, had to know where the security system was," Leonard Manley said, referring to Gary's house.

If one of the other two took a plea I don’t understand why that would have held up turning over the proffer.

Your Quote:

JMO: Running through many tips pointing in other directions.

The slayings are considered the state’s biggest and most complex homicide investigation to date, resulting in more than 1,000 tips, hundreds of people interviewed and dozens of search warrants, officials say.
5th anniversary of Pike Co. massacre

700 of those tips came in by 6/21/16
Authorities have reviewed about 700 tips and 100 pieces of evidence and relocated the four mobile homes to preserve the crime scenes.
UPDATE: More than two dozen investigators focused on Pike County slayings

Hey your back on the Case! Good!

Will be looking forward to more of your posts when new information becomes available. As I mentioned before you are really good at researching this Case.

<modsnip>
how they treated the evidence and Reader doing what he did going to have any bearing on this trial?

No way.

<modsnip> Truth is, BCI was in charge of the investigation from day one. Reader's Pike County Sheriff's Department was available to take out and serve Warrants and take interviews etc...

But it was all led by BCI .

The Rhoden lead investigator was fired from his lead position for creating a hostile work environment. So then Scheiderer stepped in and led the investigation.

No one in their right mind would fault Scheiderer with the way he handled the evidence. All protocols were followed. He is practically a "rock star" in his department since he helped coordinate the 6 arrests and testified at the Bond Hearing laying out piece by piece the evidence that will eventually convict all 4... 2 Cents

Yes, we discussed some of the missing ladies story here, but there's also a thread for it here at Websleuths. It was the documentary "Gone: Forgotten Women of Ohio" by Joe Berlinger that really helped us understand how LE and the criminal justice system sometimes don't work well in Chillicothe, Scioto County, etc. He and his staff had some very in depth interviews with at-risk women and victims' families that were very eye opening, to say the least.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7116050/

In the end, we decided it probably wasn't linked to the Rhoden Murders and Pike County. But it explained a lot about how many things get covered up. Recall Len Manley having a righteous rant about that early in the investigation.
