IF that is a consideration and IMO it could be, why was N TARGETED?
Why N? Why her specifically?
Just throwing out questions. :moo:
I have no idea. I am just throwing ideas out there that could be plausible with the reaction of LEO and "City Hall". This whole situation is ODD. :pullhair: To me...it seems rather bold and risky to kidnap a child from a classroom. I can't come up with any feasible scenario in which taking a child out of school seems to be the most efficient/anonymous way to kidnap someone. (not that I'm a kidnapping expert) *I hope this makes sense?!?*

I still have a feeling the female abductor may not have really been pregnant and that may have been a hoax to further disguise her actual appearance and build

Is the victim's mother pregnant? If she isn't than there's another strange aspect to add to this.

Filly, your mom and I are having the same thoughts.

I totally agree. It was such a bold, in-your-face move, to waltz into the school and sign out the child. Pedophiles usually take the more cowardly, anonymous approach---they grab and run, or they quietly groom a victim in private.

This abduction was so unusual in it's execution. It really feels to me like some kind of statement was being made to the family. Perhaps the parents OR the grandfather. I am not sure. JMO

Also just a thought. This little doll is 5 years old. What's white? What is light? At 5 years old here in Philadelphia our kids interact with children of all races religions and cultures.

If, if, if the guy is Muslim we have a huge Middle Eastern community here. We have Jordanians, Palestinians, Egyptians. So what is dark? Light?

In University City alone for heaven sakes we have the whole world in our hands.

Point blank this sweet little girl shouldn't have had to deal with this in the first place.

The reference to skin color of the alleged perps, was made in the context of determining the likelihood of whether FGM was performed or not, in an earler post. On that issue alone, I again say, complexion is not a pivitol factor.

Countryfox, I love it here on WS because different opinions are valued. So thanks for your input...

Again, I respectfully disagree. Almost 100% (I don't know the exact percentage but it's very high, I'm sure) of FGM procedures are performed in Africa, and next in the Middle East and Asia. And these cultures carry that tradition with them with they immigrate to other countries, including America. So I believe, in my opinion anyway, that FGM would be less of a possibility if the man accompanying the woman were a white man in sweats, or a non-African or non-Middle Eastern man in sweats, or any man in sweats for that matter ---- because perhaps a Muslim man accompanying a Muslim woman in a full burka complete with face covering to take a little girl to a FGM procedure would seem unlikely. Seems like a man involved in something like that would be dressed more traditional if that conservative religiously. Culturally? Maybe not. But would a Muslim woman who covers herself from head to toe be in a relationship with a man who wasn't Muslim? Probably not.

At least this is what I think tlcya was asking -- if others more 'in the know' would know if that may be a pertinent details or not. Would a conservative man believing in FGM dress like that? It was just a question.

We lived in Egypt for awhile and have lots of Egyptian friends, both Coptic and Muslim. We saw all sorts of attire, by the way. For both men and women. The more conservative men wore more conservative clothing, but even that varied.

After all of that, I feel like I've talked in circles and said nothing, really. Hope it makes sense.

They wear what they want even outside depending.

Again I probably shouldn't say, but I will. There's Muslim men that joined Islam in prison. Someone who had been locked up told me so they could get a prayer rug and more time to say prayers. Some take their Religion very seriously when they get out and some don't.

Some males even wear the attire to sell bean pies, incense and oils and turn out they are not even Muslim, but cons wanting money.

Dark skin, light skin, sweat pants, and even the jeans that the guys have to sew up the bottoms of to wear under their garments. It all goes.

Sorry, I'm not following you here …
if they have to sew up the bottoms, how do they wear them - if the bottoms are sewed up, they have no place to put their bottom, right? :waitasec:

IIRC, N's mom is a medium- to large-framed woman, from a video I saw of her. I had posted way back that perhaps the perp was trying to look a little more stocky by adding padding that made her look pregnant instead? :waitasec:

I don't think we ever established whether N's mom is pregnant. But her build beneath her Naqib appeared shorter and more full figured in general to me.

So if this person was trying to imitate mom's appearance perhaps this person had only seen mom from a distance and thought she was pregnant? Or wanted to draw the eye away from the height disparity by appearing fuller as well?

I am just throwing stuff at walls over here.

Sorry, Flutterflies.

The trousers underneath. Like their street clothing under the men's garb. Some of the guys cut the bottoms off their jeans and sew them up some almost to their knees. If it's not a good job you can see them hanging down some.

Again, this is just my observation on the street or EL or subway. The Muslims sell bean pies, incense and oils on the street. They kind of sing that out in that order. While the subway or El is in motions they go through selling the oils.

Again, not all Muslims do this, but I do take note when I see jeans that their makeshift hem hangs down.

That is an excellent point!

Again, I just survey going about my business and no the man would be traditionally dressed. On the street anyway.

While we are on the topic of the female abductor's pregnancy. Does anyone else remember when this case first hit the news how there were reports that she had chatted with school personnel about her "pregnancy"?

Did I dream that? Because initially I thought it was reported that she chatted up office staff about pregnancy and then later that sort of fell out of the story and there was no more mention of it.

Then it was reported she signed something with the hall monitor and by passed the office where she was instructed to go.

I wonder if she and the hall monitor discussed pregnancy and it was twisted in the rush to get the story out.

Or did she converse with no one about the "pregnancy"

I take it this is the bank robbery involving non muslims hiding their identities to commit crimes that N's grandfather, the Iman, spoke so openly about his feelings on?

That is correct. The Imam asked "Whatever happened to masks?" Not "Don't be robbing banks and murdering police officers in cold blood".

From what someone mentioned on talk radio and they may have been a complete BSer and they were not Muslim they said that it isn't out of the ordinary that one Mosque doesn't get along with another and it has to do with Iman's" They were pronouncing it like the name of David Bowie's wife though.

That's a large reward. By now I thought someone would call in. Somebody knows. Meaning someone is really frightened. That baby was frightened.

sorry for OT but man I have got a tension headache that will not quit.

Trying to wrap my head around the bizarre nature of the circs in this case is not helping.

Why was this child targeted? I just cannot seem to find one theory that fits with all the facts we've been given.

Still stymied by the brazenness of it.
