Maybe the tape quality is so bad that they can only make out that the person is wearing male clothes with male build?

I would hope that LE would still let the public view the video...

Sometimes stance, mannerisms, hairlines, etc. can be identified by people that know the person on tape...

I don't see any way that she could have signed the child out, made small talk in the office, and/or gotten her out of the classroom, without knowing her name. How is that possible?

She couldn't say ' I'm here to sign a child out.' Wouldn't they ask her WHO she was there for?

I thought she said she was taking N to breakfast. Didn't she have to say WHO she wanted to take for breakfast?

Channel 10 News tonight reported that the Iman was interviewed again today and he said the police asked him if this was a set up to prove that more security is needed. He responded to those questions by saying it's a sick mind to even think that happened.
I don't understand his comments per http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news/...189715191.html
that following all the random tips is clouding the investigation and taking focus away from what they should be doing. I'm baffled, I thought this would be solved by now.

:twocents: It would be interesting to hear the substitute's version as to whether the child was referred to by name during his exchange with the abductor. If not, then how did the woman indicate who she wanted and summons N to go with her. I'd also like to know was this the first classroom of small children she came upon or did she take greater risk to navigate through the school in her quest for a :what: "random" victim. For some reason :banghead: it just seems like grandfather is trying to deflect any notion that the child was likely singled out.

I hope she didn't get away with pointing, mumbling, speaking a different language & shouting out phrases (the woman & the teacher with her being so busy, had errands and all)?

She could have picked up on N's name at the front of the school or being near the office? Not sure how quick the woman came in to take her to breakfast...I am thinking it happened very fast. The woman could have pointed to the sub who N was without mentioning her name. jmo

Seems as time goes by, there are more questions than answers :moo:

It seems very close though, possibly acquaintances of the family or family members? Too close. I'm trying but it's very odd to base anything off of execpt the obvious news reports about Grandpa and the family's possible religion and the perps descriptions. Gar!!!

Nothing really makes much sense about the whole thing. A mother drops her 5 year old at school, and 5-10 minutes later comes back and says she wants to take her out to breakfast, but doesn't know her name, and she's allowed to leave the building with her? I don't get it. :moo:

I saw that interview to Maureen, It left me feeling confused. Big point of saying he was interviewed, worded like he is a suspect. Followed by no family members are suspect :waitasec:
I'm going to watch it again, maybe I was just tired..

http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...Randomly-Targeted-by-a-Pervert-189715191.html

Due to his powerful stature within the Muslim community, police suspect his granddaughter may have been specifically targeted by someone with a vendetta against her family. Abdur-Rashid made headlines last year after he and other local Muslim leaders offered a $20,000 reward to help find bank robbers dressed in Islamic women’s clothing. Police have now questioned Abdur-Rashid a second time about the kidnapping, asking specifically if he believes he was targeted by the people who committed those crimes.

You get two stories in one:
Grandfather of Abducted Girl: She Was Randomly Targeted by a Pervert

Same link as above..

I watched the video, It is not the same on they played last night on the news.

Another way the perp could know the girl's name is if there was arts and crafts posted outside the classroom itself with the names of the kids on them. My daughter's class always has projects posted outside of the room.

This case is bugging me and now I don't want to start suspecting members of the family because that would really be disappointing. JMO

Good idea. The only thing that still makes me wonder is how did she know the child she selected randomly by seeing her name, had a mother of Muslim faith that wore the traditional niqab?

" While we do appreciate all the information that’s pouring in, we would like people to be a little more focused on the information that they give. Because sometimes you can clog the system with information that’s not important.”
http://www.nbcphiladelphia.com/news...Randomly-Targeted-by-a-Pervert-189715191.html

I hope that this was not played publicly, because this is disturbing to me. It could influence people to not call tips in because they think its just 'a minor detail' or 'unimportant'. It could be that very miniscule tip that breaks the case. No one knows everything that LE knows, and it may be that tiny detail that pulls it all together for LE. I understand that hoax tips and well meaning tipsters can "clog the system" but LE knows how to weed through them. I hope this doesn't STOP, lets say, a neighbor who has a 'hinky' feeling but no concrete evidence.

BTW--I will have to look it up but I could have sworn that I saw LE say something about 20 tips and now Grandpa says 200! Anyone else remember this???

OK, so a woman delivers a little girl to a perv to be assaulted? Is that what happened here? WTH is going on? Women abducting kids and lead them to these psychotic deviants???

Ugh! Unfortunately, this does happen. Terri-Lynne McClintic stole Tori Stafford from school and delivered her to be raped by Michael Rafferty. Yuck, makes me sick to my stomach. It so hard to wrap my head around the fact that there are women who do this.

Yes, I'm all too familiar with that case, as with Homolka and Bernardo. Sick.

I am just as confused!! I get the impression facts are getting muddled, I think it is possible that the woman did ask the child her name after they left the classroom just for the reason of having something to say and to maybe put the child at ease but I find it too strange that she randomly chose a child after she was in the classroom! Normally on a sign out sheet you write the child's name and at the grade and then sign your name, it's been reported that the signature was illegible, I would think if the abductor didn't even bother to write a child's name on that sheet the press if not the police would have released that info in the first reports of the missing child. Also if it was a random child selected after she was in the classroom the chance that she would choose a child with no muslim connection could have caused the child to freak out when told to leave with someone dressed in full muslim attire. It's like the Iman said, as muslims they live in a protected society among themselves and most their interactions are between and among each other so 5 year old children who are not muslim are not accustom to interacting with female muslim woman.

maybe I am mistaken.. But didn't the female abductor ask the substitute teacher for N by name?

Please correct me if I am wrong...

JMO

It certainly was reported that abductor asked for child by name.
Why would teacher let her to take N otherwise?
