I wonder if when he headed home for Xmas with his father, if he had not yet decided whether to go back or not. Maybe he thought "all the fuss" might die down over the Xmas break, and he could move back in without a problem. And start preparing for his next victims. How wrong he was, thank the Lord.

This is what I think. He took all his winter clothes which didn’t appear to be much, and makes sense bc he was going to be gone for a few weeks. Even with the not-updated-for-decades living space he had, it was completely without personality, much like the tenant.

The bathroom was immaculate. Like, I’m still stunned about it. Where’s the shower curtain?

It looks like sheets on the bed but no comforter?

I want to know who sent the card to Bryern.

Also, it appears the Dickies tag was for a beanie; not a coverall set. (He could still have had a coverall set)

I've never been able to access these documents, but post #990 of this thread has links to all the currently released documents downloaded into Google Drive. Whoever did this, thanks so much!

An additional 699 photos have been released on the ISP site here is the link to download, some are of BKs apartment.

Thank you for this, I'd tried the Moscow and Pullman links but not the other for some reason.

yep and a witness who said she saw him there but for some reason the owner denies that he was ever there
Owner didn't want to have had him there. Confused herself between want and know.

Exactly. Her denial doesn't mean that he wasn't there. She just didn't want to associate him with her business.

And to her defense, maybe there was no electronic link. He may have paid cash, for instance. So truth, as far as she knew, there was no record of him --

And the sad reality, if he asked a waitress out, in his signature style or waited in the lot and solicited work schedules and home addresses, he may have been barely memorable, outside the ick factor. Lot of foot traffic in a place like that.

IMO there's a 0% chance he didn't show up there, and ordering vegan pizza? That fits.

In the most recent ISP photo dump, there is a crime scene photo (113) with one doc marten boot in the living room, kind of in the middle of the room. In the same photo dump, photo 111 shows that boot's mate on it's side on the floor right next to the left end of the couch:

View attachment 611237

I don't any other shoes in the living room, and no shoes at all on the 3rd floor stairs or the hall to xana's room.

IMHO, the problem with the idea of Xana having put on boots/shoes to go get her food, and that was what made the clompy shoe noise on the stairs that DM thought she heard.....is that Xana was found without any pants on. She was wearing a sweatshirt and thong undies and that is all.

Even with boots on, Xana's not going outside via the backdoor and around to the front to grab her food wearing a sweatshirt and thong underwear on a cold Nov night in Idaho.

Sure, there is a small chance she had on very baggie sweatpants, slid into some docs to go outside to get food.....but in order to be found as she was (wearing just the sweatshirt and thong undies), we'd have to believe something like this happened:

--grab food from outside, walk back around to patio door go back to her room
--slip off her sweatpants, and leave the boots on....
--leave her room and then go up the 3rd floor steps to see what is going on
--immediately be chased down the stairs
--kicks off both her boots in the living room while running
--attacked and murdered
--found in room wearing just the sweatshirt and thong undies

And I don't see her taking off sweats/bottoms in her room after removing boots...deciding to leave her room to go to kitchen or up to the 3rd floor and putting on boots just to do that.

I think the likeliest and simplest solution is that what DM thought was boots was either BK (heavier body, doesn't matter what shoes he was wearing), or the sounds of Xana and BK running down the stairs and past her room, IMHO.
I have been so obsessed with this horrific crime the past few weeks, and unable to spend any amount of time on this site!! So frustrating! Please accept my apology for the lengthy post, but there are several things on my mind, and I apologize in advance because I know all of this has probably been discussed at length throughout the threads.

But in regard to gremlin444's post, I agree. To me, it makes more sense that Xana had on the white jeans and slipped on the crocs to get her food, and pulled them off in the bathroom, just like they were left, before she started eating.

JMO

I think she went to the kitchen to warm her fries, or something along those lines. The cabinet with the plates was open, and there was a clear cellophane bag inside the JIB bag that looks like what is around popcorn bags. There was a popped popcorn bag under her fries by the microwave...

JMO

Obviously pure speculation, but I think she heard something that made her look up the stairs, and BK was probably trying to exit, at a minimum the 3rd floor, at that point. IMO, she was no longer in the kitchen when she first became aware of him. And DM heard him running after her from the flight of stairs right outside her bedroom and the kitchen. The ISP released pictures of specifically that area, with pictures of even the window and ceiling. Maybe BK threw his hand holding the knife, if he was just carrying it in his hand, up in those stairs and there is castoff all the way to the ceiling?? She probably said there was someone in there (meaning - the house) and BK started running down the stairs following her to her room where he caught her in the doorway to her room, and she fought him with everything she had. Ugh... just so sad.

The footprints in the snow look like boots. MOO

What I keep wondering about is DM's statement about BK carrying something when he was leaving. So, does this mean he had something stashed somewhere to put stuff in?? Was he just carrying it from room to room?? Ugh. I know I'll never have that answer, but it keeps rattling around in my head.

I even spent one night looking at Sharps Disposal containers wondering if he was carrying something like that to keep from cutting himself with the knife after he murdered everyone and wondering about safeneedledisposal.org sites that would be within driving distance. Given BK's history with heroin, he would be familiar with needle/sharp object disposal, and the fact that no one is going to dig through that. JMO MOO

I've been watching GH's videos on YouTube. For years I've thought BK parked in the back, but after watching the unedited video, and specifically on one of GH's Lives (I had to replay because I missed the live event, and now can't find the specific video for the life of me), there is a sound that GH plays, during the period BK would be leaving the house, that IMO sounds like metal hitting metal. It's a very brief sound. There are chain link fences on either side of the house, and ISP specifically takes pictures of the side of the house closest to the house with the video camera. IMO, BK traveled to and from the residence via this route on foot, and this would also explain why it may have taken a little longer than if he had been parked right out the back door. Something about the intentional leaving of the footprints in the snow heading in that direction were intentional on BK's part to also give the impression he parked back there. All JMO-MOO.

Although, after reading his papers and looking at his messed-up handwriting, he isn't nearly as smart as he thinks he is, but I wouldn't be surprised if he didn't try to incorporate some of the things that he had learned in his classes about crime scenes, etc...

Also, at around 4:06:47, before BK does the 3-point turn around, it looks like he is trying to backup and parallel park, IMO. Also, in the audio and video when BK is leaving the scene, GH points out how the audio doesn't sound the same. You don't hear the usual "crunch of gravel." IMO, that "crunch of gravel" comes from the car taking the curve from the side street, and now, I really think BK was parked in front of the house so he could easily get to his vehicle and leave with the least number of turns, etc... I think when BK drove around the back, that was for surveillance purposes and walking straight in and out the same direction would give the illusion that he was parked back there, but for a quick exit, being out front would be the most efficient.

And last but not least, when the prosecutor was laying out what had happened during the crime, after the plea agreement, and he said, " I will say for the record that there is no evidence there was any sexual component or sexual assault on any of the victims. I want to make that clear so there's no speculation." BK seemed to look smug and nod as if it was very important to BK that this was on the record. I wonder if BK requested this be stated on the record in the plea hearing? AS IF that makes anything he did less heinous!!

Anyways, I just had to get all of this out in one place. Thank you if you have read this far.

Again, everything above is all speculation and opinion on my part.

Not sure if this has been posted yet, but the medication slip in one of the photos of Kohberger’s apartment is for a thyroid drug.

For as empty as his apartment was, Bryem is kind of a slob.

A bit behind but interesting to see the chef’s knife sheath wasn’t lost or left somewhere it didn’t belong. 🤭🤭🤭

When Bryan was first given the plea deal, quite a few posters here argued that it was for the best, since "there was a possibility he wouldn't get found guilty."

I knew there was no way this loser didn't leave a trail a mile long. IMO the judge and/or prosecutors dropped the ball on this.

(9) The following are statutory aggravating circumstances, at least one (1) of which must be found to exist beyond a reasonable doubt before a sentence of death can be imposed for murder in the first degree:
  • (a) The defendant was previously convicted of another murder.
  • (b) At the time the murder was committed the defendant also committed another murder.
  • (c) The defendant knowingly created a great risk of death to many persons.
  • (d) The murder was committed for remuneration or the promise of remuneration or the defendant employed another to commit the murder for remuneration or the promise of remuneration.
  • (e) The murder was especially heinous, atrocious or cruel, manifesting exceptional depravity.
  • (f) By the murder, or circumstances surrounding its commission, the defendant exhibited utter disregard for human life.
  • (g) The murder was committed in the perpetration of, or attempt to perpetrate, arson, rape, robbery, burglary, kidnapping or mayhem and the defendant killed, intended a killing, or acted with reckless indifference to human life.
  • (h) The murder was committed in the perpetration of, or attempt to perpetrate, lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, sexual abuse of a child under sixteen (16) years of age, ritualized abuse of a child, sexual exploitation of a child, sexual battery of a minor child sixteen (16) or seventeen (17) years of age, or forcible sexual penetration by use of a foreign object, and the defendant killed, intended a killing, or acted with reckless indifference to human life.
  • (i) The defendant, by his conduct, whether such conduct was before, during or after the commission of the murder at hand, has exhibited a propensity to commit murder which will probably constitute a continuing threat to society.
  • (j) The murder was committed against a former or present peace officer, executive officer, officer of the court, judicial officer or prosecuting attorney because of the exercise of official duty or because of the victim’s former or present official status.
  • (k) The murder was committed against a witness or potential witness in a criminal or civil legal proceeding because of such proceeding.

He would be found guilty, barring a juror hold out, the real risk is the DNA evidence being disallowed in the future by a supreme court ruling on IGG searches.
Without the DNA, everything discovered later like ordering the knife would be suppressed. Then on appeal there is a chance he could walk.

TOTALLY agreed. There's never been any doubt in my mind. I know some are saying well, there was that thing with the pots and pans, he won't eat the food unless he has specially dedicated pots and pans that are not used to cook meat. Yes, but that's at home, where he has complete control. I'd say he made exceptions for restaurants, and as support for that, he has that little exchange with LE where he's supposedly trying to get some Thai food while on the road with Father (need eye roll emoji here). Thai food often has meat and chicken (as opposed to chick'n). And plenty of fish sauce, too. He's not going to be able to guarantee that whatever he orders there wasn't cooked in a pan that at one point had meat (or something else he finds unacceptable) in it. I know he's probably making the Thai food up, but the way it rolls off his tongue (even as a lie in that context) does lead me to believe Fruit Cake makes exceptions on his "pots and pans" for restaurants. He undoubtedly might find other reasons for exceptions, too.

Whoops! Did I say "Fruit Cake" up there? I meant Fruit Cup. Yeah, Fruit Cup, (hehe)

but I thought the Mad Greek was a vegan restaurant? so there would be no issue with cross-contamination via the cooking surfaces
