Anybody know how the Kohberger truthers over in crazytown are taking this news? I guess BK must be in on the conspiracy against himself.

IMO this should not have been allowed without consulting the parents of those who were brutally murdered.
It sounds like the families were blindsided and I don’t think that’s OK.

I'm not sure that a judge can make that kind of stipulation, other than BK not profit from his crimes. I suspect he will eventually write a book with Raamsland, or she will write the book from interviews with him. No financial profit to BK, just the fame, the infamy.
I’m thinking he will absolutely confide in a true crime writer so that he can relive his awful actions through interviews, and then soak up the fame from the book, putting him in his mind just like other serial killers who he admires. Does anyone know legally if he can be prevented from sharing info with authors, media, etc? And can the court prevent witnesses and evidence from going public with details once settled?

I want to know why he committed the murders and who was his initial target. Why did he feel it was necessary to murder almost everyone in the entire house??

JMO.
Rejection, sexual gratification, the usual... It was one of the girls in the upper bedroom probably Kaylee, but could have been Maddie. He had a thing for blonde girls.

He was never going to testify as to why or who he targeted. IMO

I’m half surprised, half not surprised. Defense has played all their cards & lost almost every hand. The bryring squad probably was what changed his mind in the end, along with finally taking legal advice instead of giving it, not that I am 100% happy at these turn of events but not about me at all. Been a long wait for this, for many people. Probably best he fades into obscurity, if he’ll allow it.

JMO
You said it," best he fades into obscurity" 100%

My heart breaks for the families not ever knowing the details, not being able to face the man that murdered their child. Nothing will ever easy their pain.

Moo...
Oh, they’ll face him during victim impact statements.

Will Judge Hippler ask him to go through how he killed every one of them? And will he have to say? Or can he just say "guilty" or "sorry"?

So did the State not meet with the families before they agreed to this deal?

I was thinking that it was Maddie because Kaylee had moved out, right? I was just hoping that they would make that part of the plea. Maybe, that's asking too much for him to explain why he did what he did.

JMO.

I can't remember if we can post from the Goncalves FB page?

I apologise if not but they've just written

"
It's true! We are beyond furious at the State of Idaho. They have failed us. Please give us some time. This was very unexpected. We appreciate all your love and support.

I haven't followed this case but was under the impression that before a plea deal is given a defendant the victim(s) and/or their families were involved with prosecutors discussing it and basically had to sign off on it.

I hope the judge takes a hard look at the defense team and issues sanctions if he sees fit.

Pressing the bounds of ethical lawyering weakens faith in the justice system for everyone. If the judge finds that it happened in this case, I hope it does not go without penalty.

I recall his admonition, officer of the court...

jmo
What are you talking about please? Would you share some details?

Didn't expect this at all. But at least he'll never be free again. Hope he has a miserable time in prison.

I think all the families should be consulted before any Plea Deal is offered. It doesn’t sound like they were ? I’m furious over this. I hope the families speak to whether they were consulted at all .

After the deal is sealed, the prosecution will likely spill the beans about what their investigation has revealed which may answer some of the questions people have. To me, it doesn’t matter “why” because what’s done is done and it never made sense anyway. What explanation could provide satisfaction? He’s not right in the head. I hope the families can heal as best as possible.

They don't have to. It is the State of Idaho against BK. I am actually surprised, I thought he would do an "Alford Plea", he still can. He won’t accept guilt, he just agrees there is enough evidence against him to be considered "guilty".
