As a survivor of a violent crime, I will say there is never a feeling of justice..... a survivor or family member of a victim can never be made whole. You wait for the day in court and the pound of flesh but it is important to recognize that no family will ever have any of their loved ones back or their peace of mind restored. Even if this scum allocutes as to his responsibility, most likely, it will never be enough.

My heart is with these families because they will never win. The roommates and all who will be spared from testifying will never win. This murderer has impacted their sense of safety and security for the rest of their lives. The murderer deserves no grace or compassion AND we can bet that even if he makes statements that he will leave them feeling victimized again.... because that is what cold, calculating people do. He will not give anyone the satisfaction of answering enough because he cares about no one but himself.
I agree, there's never an ultimate feeling of justice. A beloved person of mine was hurt badly, so badly. There was a long trial and a guilty verdict which we were relieved about. Then he died in-between verdict and sentencing. It was brutal, we all felt like justice hadn't been served and he got the easy way out. The pain is still there for my loved one but I believe not even every form of justice on earth will be enough for a victim and their loved ones in many cases. I said in a previous reply but I'll repeat here, I don't believe it is the death penalty the two sets of parents are wanting here as such, it's more that they feel he deserves the harshest punishment a court can give - the death penalty.

It's all such a whirlwind right now and I hate that creepburger will imo, feel like he's got power.

Typically, if you are sentenced to Death, you are confined to your cell 23hrs (or so) , per day, given an hour alone in the “yard”, eat your meals in your cell, housed in a separate cell area, away from general population.
With Death off the table, he will possibly/probably be able to join the other inmates on the outdoor area to play basketball, socialize, eat in the cafeteria, etc etc., have a prison job, etc.
Not being sentenced to Death, Kohlberger will probably be able to join these types of activities, if he wishes. And live a more leisurely life in prison. Some sociopaths thrive in this structured setting.

Sorry for posting this yet again, but according to the Idaho Guilty Plea Advisory, BK waives his right to silence by pleading guilty, at least pertaining to the crimes he pleads guilty to:

View attachment 599097

I guess this doesn’t mean BK has to confess to every detail of his crimes. Maybe it just means he has to say “yes” in open court when Hippler asks if he pleads guilty?

IMO
And I think the judge will ask BK if he entered into the plea agreement voluntarily, that kind of thing, standard protocol (whatever it is). And then set the date for sentencing.

I'm also in the "he'll plead guilty and offer up no details or anything" camp. But I have a strong feeling he'll do a sitdown interview someday like Lori Vallow has.

This article is very interesting, thanks for posting it, I would not have seen it, nor read it, otherwise.

What do you hope/expect to hear from BK? If not tomorrow, soon.
For me it would be the following:

—when did you start planning this
—what was your motive; what were you hoping to accomplish
—were you targeting a particular person or this particular house
—why did you choose this person/house
—did you intend to kill everyone in the house; if so, why didn’t you
—what happened in the house from start to finish
—did you know someone had seen you; did you see DM as you left
—when did you realize you had left your knife sheath behind
—how did you keep your car free of blood
—where did you dispose of your bloody clothes
—where did you dispose of the knife
—how did you feel afterwards
—how did you feel when you found out LE was looking for a white Elantra
—did the movie your sister was in have any influence on your planning of the murders
—did any other serial killers inspire you
—if you had not been caught would you have done it again
—do you feel any remorse for what you’ve done
Good questions. I think several answers are known by the prosecution. I hope we get that evidence. I bet the digital footprint puts him at the same location with Maddie on prior occasions. He absolutely would've done it again. If he told the truth, he went to school to study to become the perfect serial killer. Thankfully, he failed.

They're absolutely crazy. I've come across some on Reddit and jesus wept, they put the Richard Allen cult to shame with how naive they are.
I haven't looked yet but can guarantee that they're spouting "he was just scared of the DP" 'He was made to plead out" "he's my innocent bushybrowowbrybaybeeee" 🤢 lock them up with him.

Actually, this article is about people like Kaylee's father who are angry that Bill Thompson offered BK a plea deal instead of insisting BK be tried and face the possibility of the death penalty.

But you are right, lots of conspiracy theorists are out for Thompson's blood (and, gasp, Anne Taylor's, too) for "making" BK accept the guilty plea for various and sundry sordid reasons.

IMO

Is it a fact of the case that the prosecutor offered the plea deal? Sorry, not a trick question, I just haven't had time to nail down the facts.

What up with the DA? Justice involves BK being shot to death before the families. A merciful death compared to the 4 he dealt others.
Is this a financial decision to aave tax payer money? Asl the tax payers then, with a vote.

Oh my bad for assuming and not reading it 😭😂

Ah man, regardless of anything they shouldn't be doing that. He's worked tirelessly for over two years on this case and wants that creep to serve justice more than us all 😔 I understand anger, shock and disappointment but god forbid some crazy took it into their own hands and did something stupid!

I hope tomorrow goes as smoothly as it should and there's no kicking off in the court room. It won't help anybody.

is there any scenario where a plea deal can be rescinded? like the accused's demands cannot be met..etc..anyone know? mOO
If BK doesn't do/say what he's agreed to do/say. As far as his demands not being met...I'm thinking he's not in a position to have any, just the retention of his life. MO

Prior to news of the plea deal, the Chapin family sat down with GMA. They talk about their memories of Ethan, and how they received the news that he had been murdered:

On the morning of Nov. 13, a friend woke up Hunter at his fraternity to tell him police officers were across the street at Xana's house, where Ethan often spent the night."I got dressed sluggishly," Hunter said. "I wasn't worried. ... Ethan was 6-foot-4 and 220 pounds, 230 pounds. ... I was like, 'Oh, he'll be fine,' like, if there was anything. Maybe someone drank too much and, I mean, that stuff does happen in college."

"When I walked over there, I didn't see him outside. So I figured he was inside helping whoever needed to be helped," Hunter said. That's when their friend -- who had gone inside the house at 1122 King Road that morning and made the chilling discovery -- approached Hunter."I was like, 'Where's Ethan and Xana?'" Hunter recalled. "And he's like, 'They're not here anymore.' It's like, 'What do you mean, they're not here anymore?' He's like, 'I think they were murdered last night.'"

"I don't know if those are the exact words," Hunter said. "So I had to call Maizie and then call my mom."Maizie said she arrived at King Road to find her brother and their friends huddled outside. The house that had been their gathering place was now a crime scene. Ambulances had already come and gone, without taking any patients, the siblings said, and soon Maizie was in shock.Stacy Chapin was at the grocery store when her son called."[Hunter] just said, "He's not here,'" she recalled. "And he kept repeating it. ... Your mind does not register that ... so I was like, 'Well, go get him. Go find him.'"

"And he just kept saying it," Stacy Chapin said. "And he goes, 'No, Mom. You don't understand. Ethan and Xana,' I think he said, 'are not on this earth anymore.'"

This is just heart-wrenching to hear about how Hunter, Maizie and Ethan's mom found out about the murder of Ethan. They are an incredible family and the parents made it their first and most important priority to make sure that Ethan's memory was honored and his legacy established, and that his two triplet siblings would be the focus of their love and attention as they helped them move forward with their lives.

my hope is that it comes with a full confession. Not just a quiet “guilty” in a courtroom, but actual answers. The truth. The timeline. The motive. The “why” that haunts so many of us.

A confession could finally give the families something solid. It wouldn’t heal everything, but it might help them breathe a little easier knowing what really happened that night.

If Kohberger pleads out just to avoid the death penalty without having to say what he did and why, it would feel hollow. Almost like he’s still controlling the narrative. These families deserve to hear the truth from his mouth, in his own words.

I understand plea deals can spare families the anguish of a trial, but truth is part of justice too. I just hope the prosecution pushes for that in any agreement.

People will need to know why and I doubt we ever get that now. Death penalty would be fine.. if not, hopefully he gets it in prison.
I don't think there's anything special or unusual about him. Just a garden variety psychopath with violent fantasies. Look at any forensic psychology assessment and it will tell you all you need to know.

In fact, the killer himself likely doesn't understand his own behaviour as well as the psychologist, who's seen many such cases. It's not 'rational' behaviour that involves the person's thoughts...it's emotional.

Just like some of the families reactions are not rational, but are driven by powerful emotions, just like all the people on here who would happily kill him, if they had the opportunity. The desire to kill is being expressed throughout this thread.
