Lacking awareness of how you come across to others is a sign of both ASD and ADHD.

I think that is different from self-awareness, or awareness of your own internal thought processes and emotions.

Kohberger showed he is aware of having a broken brain in his teenage Tapatalk musings and in the lyrics of the songs he listened to and most likely identified with (as revealed by Dateline). And, he studied psychology at his community college and at DeSales University—perhaps to figure out why he wasn’t normal. He studied criminology, too, for perhaps the same reason.

IMO

Regarding BK’s reactions, social skills and behavioral analysis

This video by Dr G behavioral analysis evidently was mentioned in the Defense Documents, it warrants attention.
Evidently this behavioral analysis provided to the public was used as part of the defenses request not to have cameras in the courtroom.

Super interesting- his first appearance in court, in the car on the trip to PA with his dad, and in the interactions with the female campus cop.

I wish it would be part of the plea agreement that he not be allowed to give interviews. It feeds his ego, he will feel like he is still manipulating the outcome of how people perceive him to be. He would be getting attention for the four murders. He would feel like he really is sought after if someone wants to write about him. He shouldn’t be allowed to gloat about anything.

On C-tv there was a psychiatrist who said that BK is enjoying having the control to call the shots. It’s all he has left to do and he is going to relish in it. Paraphrasing and I’m not sure if it was a psychiatrist or another doctor or expert, but it made good sense.
We'll see, if that's the case, how well that kind of attitude serves him in prison. MO

These killers appear to have no respect for the life of others but often show cowardice when they are faced with their own demise.

Some killers are afraid of death and some are not, it depends on how they plan to seek or find infamy- and place their names in history as they make their mark.

Some want to be infamous in death, or seek relief from life- by cop or suicide.
Others want to be infamous in life, or maybe they fear death or hell.

BK strikes me as a fanboy of killers, studied them, learned from them, and sought to become one of them. He wants to watch the story play out that he has created- and poke and prod at it so he can fill his sick need for attention.
He comes across as not having the intestinal fortitude to handle much discomfort- and at the same time huge amounts to handle killing others- something most of us could not.

As sick as it is- we have soldiers who come back from combat with PTSD. Does a killer have some kind of symptoms similar to PTSD? Do they suffer trauma? If so, what does that look like?

I don’t see his unwillingness to face the death penalty as a sign of cowardice.
I see it as a sign he wants to be around to face the fall out- he wants to watch and participate- something he cannot do in death.

If he began to plan this one, two, or three years ago, work up the nerve to actually do it, and has been under a gag order pending trial- his entertainment is just about to begin.
When the gag order is lifted- I predict BK will be living out the last final step in his crime. He will be recognized as a killer. Maybe saying ‘Guilty’ is irrelevant in his view. He still was able to commit the murder of four people in hand to hand combat with a knife. And as far as we know- he suffered no injuries. I think his worst nightmare would be to be in solitary confinement- without access to the public, unable to watch what people thought about him. Unable to be worshipped- like he worshipped and studied other killers.

Regarding the search warrant return for the Kohberger family home, does anyone think we will ever find out which book BK underlined on page 118, whose ID cards BK had in that glove in a box, or whether item #1, “knife”, was THE knife?

I was sitting here formulating this very question; you did a better job than I would have!!
I read "somewhere", so IMO, that the book was one of his criminal justice texts. But the IDs? What about the knife in a box that was mentioned at a recent hearing? And I can see BK taking his car to Washington so he can get around, but why drive it back and forth on break? Was he taking his Glock with him and didn't want to declare it on the flight home? Or was his lame self truly scared to fly?

Yes, that Glock seemed so important, yet no mention of it when Hippler discussed the knife.

IIRC they found a bullet next to Dana Smithers remains, yet the PA Grand Jury never indicted Kohberger. I figure the bullet wasn’t from the Glock.

Anybody else getting whiplash going between this and Diddy ?

It’ll be 1 PM here, but I’m not sure if I’ll be home on time. Thanks to those informing us of where to find it, because I don’t have streaming services nor social media. I’m sure I’ll learn more here if I miss it.

I’ll be pleasantly surprised if BK gives chapter and verse on the entirety of this crime, but my expectation right now is a perfunctory “How do you plead?” “Guilty, Your Honor.” Followed by handcuffs and a quick exit.

Wondering if he will acknowledge his family or not.

MOO He wanted a car when at his parent's rural home. Renting a car is expensive and eliminates any cost difference between driving your own car home and flying.
MOO He likes driving and taking a road trip with Dad is about the most normal about him.

Ha ha, @MeadowMuffin, I figured you at least would be as interested as I. I really want to know if page 118 is from The Handmaids Tale!

I just took a look to see what page 118 of The Handmaids Tale refers to. It is chapter 20, where Aunt Lydia is showing a movie- and the contents are horrific things done to women, hard 🤬🤬🤬🤬, sadistic torture of women, as an example of how the world used to be- justifying that the new world is better.

Maybe someone could share if this book was required reading in school. I read segments of it in a literature course in college.

Any links on where this is streaming this morning?
The usual suspects on YouTube will surely stream it live (including Gray Hughes), but you should be able to use the link, Watch Hearings Live, at the top of the Idaho Cases of Interest page:

State of Idaho v. Bryan C. Kohberger

The nice thing about the YouTubers streaming it, of course, is that it’s recorded AND you get to read the snarky comments.

Recent cases have convinced me that juries cannot be trusted to get it right.

We've now just seen yet another example of what can happen in jury trials with the Diddy verdict(s).

This plea deal is a total win for the prosecution and Lady Justice. JMO.

Yes, the page describes unspeakable things being done to women. The picture of Kohberger holding The Handmaid’s Tale in his hand at the Atwood lecture sent chills down my spine. Of course, like @MeadowMuffin, IIRC, I had to check page 118 of my own copy of the book.

ETA: I read the book for an Anthropology of Women course. It made a huge impact on me.

Nothing confirmed, but it appears that Kohberger will not have to allocute.

Our only hope may be that he sat down prior to the deal being agreed to and answered questions.
