TrueCrime just reported SG and his family arrived at Court and went in. A few minutes later he (SG) came out and told Angenette Leavy that he was livid, he was not going to participate in the 'zoo' and left.
WTAH???

I don't find this shocking at all. I can't blame him for not wanting to or not being able to sit there in the same room as this murderer today.

NewsNation Network on tv is going to show it live as well.
Oh yay!

I’m at my salon appointment, and for my female peeps, while my nails have dried, my roots are taking forever and I won’t be done by 1:00. I would watch on my phone but it’s too noisy in here 😢
But I do have News Nation set to tape, so at least when I’m home I can watch it.
Thanks for info!

ETA: glancing around, all the other customers are so relaxed, and I’m so agitated to get out of here! I blame it all on the 40 minutes it took me to find a parking spot. One of the worst aspects of NYC.

Kind of crazy. Many of us have been following this since day one, and we're about a half hour away from seeing this come to a conclusion.
It does feel really strange…..and they were just weeks away from the trial starting!

I’m not surprised, they waited so long and prepared themselves for their day in court and some feel it was taken away.

Doubtful but maybe the judge amends the plea deal to include alocution

I'm still bothered that BK didn't really finish his Master's project, even if he completed it by another means, defending it orally, for instance.

Maybe his efforts were thwarted by pandemic factors but that should have been evident early in his research, which appears to be little more than submitting his own thoughts and uploading questionnaires on a platform I'm not sure many incarcerated felons peruse.

At the same time he was falling short on research, he was buying a Kbar knife...

I can't help but to conclude that BK was actively preparing to produce a whole different kind of field research, a macabre final project.

He didn't want to study or teach criminology.

He wanted to do it.

Do you think SG thought he may not be able to control his emotions? I think it would be hard, given the circumstances.

Brian Entin is broadcasting live from outside the courthouse, on NewsNation channel. As he was leaving, SG said "prosecutors made a deal with the devil".

Yes, there was a photo posted early on of BK in the front row sitting manspread out at the Margaret Atwood Lecture with that awkward, trying too hard, smirk on his face. Gag. 🤬

Yes, he looks as if he were imagining how he might re-enact his favorite scenes from the book.

I wonder if he underlined any of the passages from those scenes, perhaps for later reference while writing an assigned essay.

How this has unfolded is actually how I thought the Delphi case would happen. I really thought RA would plea out just before the trial started. My prediction for these cases were swapped.

He's certainly entitled to his opinion as the parent of a murdered young woman.
His opinion is not shared by all the victims' families, however.
He's just the loudest voice in the room, so what he's saying is getting more attention.

Lady Justice can't allow the feelings of grieving family members to outweigh what's in the best interest of society as a whole.

BK poses a tremendous threat to the public. He's very, very, very dangerous. As he's shown us.

This monster can't ever walk free.
This plea deal ensures he won't.

I’ve never heard of a student being admitted to a strictly PhD program without a Master’s degree.
Maybe he did a project & additional classes as opposed to a dissertation?

I know in the bench based sciences (as opposed to soft science, sorry if that offends, but it is common university lingo) a student may enter a PhD program after a bachelor’s degree is obtained. However, if the student fails to complete their dissertation or quits, there is no awarding of any post-graduate degree.

You can tell she’s dying to talk to him. I am convinced he will agree to it at some point.
Ramsland and Kohberger will have a 'talk off'. It's inevitable.

I'm sure his parents have already told BK they've been in contact with KR and I feel like that makes little Bry Bry feel special.

So weird…..that post you quoted wasn’t mine

I get it. I m not sure I would be able to politely sit in the courtroom with the monster who had murdered by child,

I disagree that it’s the equivalent of an Alford Plea.
He’s pleading guilty because he’s guilty and it was apparent that he had no defense.
MOO Exactly he capitulated that he would be found guilty in a trial and dealt his plea for better circumstances in prison.

I guess what I am saying is that this guilty plea is a calculation of his best bet on likely outcomes and what his own best interest is, in contrast to pleading guilty with remorse and apologies.

Oh, of course. He couldn’t be bothered with dotting the “i”s and crossing the “t”s required of written research.

He was going to “learn by doing.”

In teacher talk, he’d be considered a tactile or kinesthetic learner, not a verbal/linguistic one.

I’m surprised any of his professors ever considered him gifted in any way.
