Oh Lordy. I wrote a post a while back saying that at least it's good that the boys already know the confined areas, since they went through them by choice. But of course this is probably also why they might be apprehensive now as well ...because they know what it is like!
Does anyone know how long the most narrow part is? Every time I try to find a diagram of it, I get sidetracked...

We are in this for the long haul and the good thing is they will not give up until the boys come out one way or another.

So sorry to hear the news about the deceased rescuer. Shows how treacherous the cave system is and how there cannot be any mistakes. This helps explain why they are having a tough time making a decision.

Choosing to stay put for now is also a decision so decisions are being made one way or another. Lets just keep the faith that all their decisions will be the best ones for the boys and the safety of the rescuers.

You will see why this is a death trap for the boys.

Plus the four sump areas which are appx. 30 ft. across which will require diving equipment.

Yes, his tank ran out of O2 while he was putting O2 tanks out for the rescue.
He was 38 yrs old. So sad, guess he didn't watch it closely enough or something.
Is there no alarm/warning system on them?

Many western dive gauges have alarms on them. Mine does not, it is all visual. I tend to be a Luddite.

Based on the inner tube/BCD Thai people do not have the same equipment available to them.

Breaking News- by current Govenor who has already been replaced and moved out of area.
Fri. July 6th-
Late last night Govenor said "They will try to begin bringing out the boys, a dangerous operation but the most viable at this point."

As of Friday, the govenor is not at the cave after he was transferred to another area of the country despite the ongoing operation which he has led from the start.

It seems as if no one is prepared to make a final decision re: rescue and by default are 'deciding' to leave the boys in the cave. With three of them sick and one dead volunteer, they are risking all of their lives by delaying. They need to be brought out, for better or worse. Once the rains come, it will be too late for any kind of safe rescue IMO.

Thank you for your reply. He was a volunteer, possibly he was using out of date equipment. Whatever the case, he should still be alive.

bringing the boys out through the cave and are instead taking
Musk up on his offer to drill them out somehow.
So hoping this is the announcement.

Not necessarily. Triage can be tricky to outsiders. Many options are being explored "dive, drain, drill." Considering we are on a news delay (rightfully so) we don't know much about what, when or how this rescue will be done.

Elon Musk decided to risk his entire reputation as an engineer and physicist (not a business man) to save these boys. His Boring Company will get them out.

I agree. I don't know about the rest of you, but I am completely obsessed with this. The thought of those children trapped in such treacherous conditions is the stuff nightmares are made of.

They need to get those kids out - NOW.
Elon - do your thing buddy. I think you are our best chance here.
