I know during a hurricane, the seas get choppy well before the storm comes in...not sure if that's the case here...
snipped for focus
jeez..didn't we just hear about how they had already brought in 4 months worth of food?
According to the Guardian and other sources, there will be NO attempt to remove the boys tonight. Rain expected sometime tomorrow.
ETA: they are already at Saturday morning, so the rain is about 8 hrs away
Some sources seem to be saying, yes, today. Some seem to be saying, no, not today.
Hope that clears it up for you![]()
Bringing this forward, these boys.
Eta: if these boys don’t make it out this video will haunt me/is for the rest of my our life/lives.
Do we have a list of all their names, ages? I’m going to go back to the beginning a make sure I’ve read every post.
Parts of the cave are below the normal water table. What confuses me is, why do water levels rise when the pumps are turned and it wasnt raining?![]()
Their last live update was written 7 hours ago. It is only 7:50 am there right now. They had that press conference around midnight, which is where I think the info is coming from. When they said "Tonight," I believe they were talking about last night. IMO they don't know what they have planned for tonight Thailand time.
But isn’t more water going to come in once it rains? I’m just plain confused. Jmo. I feel like a dumb dumb or something. I just don’t get it.

Yes, its about 4-5 hrs old but the rain is coming at approx. 3-4pm their time, Saturday.
If the monsoon hits mid afternoon, how are they going to get them out??
I truly fear they have missed their opportunity IF the rains come.

Narongsak Osatanakorn, the governor of Chiang Rai province, said that rescuers were striving to free the boys and their 25-year-old coach, Ekapol Chanthawong, before it rained but would only do so if there was “minimum risk” to their lives.
“If we face the heavy rain, we must bring the kids out,” he told a midnight press briefing on Friday. “But if the situation is stable [inside their chamber], we can let them stay.”
Thailand cave rescue postponed for 12 trapped schoolboys
Thanks for this ^^^ article, Margarita.
I don't understand the bolded part at all. It makes no sense to me. They aren't going to bring the boys out, while there is no rain, and the water is lower than usual.
But IF they face heavy rains, they will. How can they bring them out if the rains are ongoing and the waters is rising?
And how can they wait long enough to know if the situation is stable? once they realize it is not stable, wouldn't it be too late to bring them out safely?
I really do not understand the statement above. :sigh:
