We are giving Websleuths a bit of a makeover. Soon, the orange and black will be replaced with shades of blue.
To check out the new color scheme, scroll to the very bottom of the page. On the lower left side, you will see "Black-Orange." Click on that and then choose Websleuths 2025.
The colors on the forum will change to blue. You can choose between light and dark by clicking on the icon next to Websleuths 2025
You will love these new colors.
More great things to come.

Oh gosh... I hate to be Negative Nellie, especially when everyone else apparently loves it, :( but the text on the new WS is fainter and looks grey vs black of the current font (where it isn't blue. Duh. lol).

I find gray hard to read because it's fainter in intensity than black text. It's like the current site has bolded font, and the new is unbolded. Even the blue is faded versus what we see now. I'm not sure how I'll fix that when the site moves over to the new look. :( Do you know of a way for folks to do that on our end?

I'm noticing that the new color scheme makes it impossible to distinguish between read and unread threads.

I won't miss the orange, but I might miss the contrast.

Oh, I see what you mean. I hadn't tried that when I made my post. Not that big of a deal though. I'll just lean in closer. lol Gray is just not a great font color IMO. :(

I've made the "dimmed" text slightly darker. (before / after)

It's also possible that we can make a high-contrast theme available for people who have a hard time with low-contrast color-schemes in the future. The plan is to make the new "Websleuths_2025" color scheme the default, but we can leave Black-Orange available until we're ready to do so. If you're logged in, and set your default color-scheme to "Black-Orange" or "Websleuths_2025," it'll remain that way in your site-settings.

The unread threads are bold, while those that have been read are not. Black-Orange makes them different colors. I can do that if enough people prefer.
