An easy assumption to make if she simply braided her hair or wore a backpack. Maybe she wore clothes from a nearby mall. Or was short. There’s a lot of different reasons, especially in the heat of the moment, such a guess could be made.
Her phone being missing concerns me the most. I hope she didn’t try to get a ride from anyone. I can’t really picture her just walking away without her phone.
Edit: missing from her, not that the phone is still missing
Well surely if she was really moving to a new job, wouldn’t she have to provide her Ss number to her employer? (As well as her full legal name.) Wouldn’t that be traceable somehow? Or was the “moving across the state for a new job” just a ruse to get the teenage witness away so they didn’t know...
I’m glad you’re okay. Only problem with that in this case is that Asha was only nine. A friend her age could not drive, so the only ones picking her up in a car would be older teenagers or adults. What kind of friend would a nine year old have that would suspect enough harm to remove her from...
If that’s the case, I’d assume the perp isn’t a local. Given all the families there, if many knew who it was - I doubt they’d knowingly leave their own kids at risk like that to someone in the complex. Moo
I don’t think she’s considered a flight risk because of this:
“Leilani, who has a history of abusing drugs, is starting a rehab program this week, she pointed out.” (The “She” being BJH). Even if it’s not inpatient le would know immediately if she stopped attending, right?

I find the spontaneity of what she purchased more interesting than the fact she stole. Nothing expensive, nothing of long term use. Just like the drinking publicly while law enforcement searched for her child - I highly doubt that anything else she allegedly did was premeditated or thought through.
For at least 30 minutes? This poor child. There is no such thing as an evil five year old regardless of their behavior. Rest In Peace Nichole.
Edit: One more thing - Mom charged with capital murder after stabbing her 5-year-old daughter to appear before judge
Her mother did *not* have custody...
Just a thought, if Quinton did somehow escape a playpen AND open a door and leave… I think the door would be left open or at least cracked. I can’t imagine a child that young and that curious about the door thinking to (or even being able to) fully shut it behind them. So at 9am, was the door...
It puzzles me why there would be both a gun and an inhaler. If someone was set on dying, why bring the inhaler? I’m sure law enforcement is looking into everything, though.
Even assuming it was a tragic accident caused by childhood curiosity… didn’t it take place around midnight? I find it hard to believe a kid so young had energy to be playing and climbing into things, and without a parent noticing he was awake. Not posting this to blame, rather just wondering...

If she was as underweight as she was when she was found for a long time, not necessarily. That doesn’t make everything else any less bad, but maybe a little bit less suffering on her end.
Given what was found in her stomach, I don’t think Lacey was trying to starve herself resulting in...
Refreshed the page after work, saw “found deceased” and can’t even express the pit in my stomach. Rest In Peace Naomi… what a tragic, heartbreaking end.
So at nearly the same age as Naomi is now, he was involved in a murder and attempting to hide a body. And that was 25 years ago. This isn’t looking optimistic for Naomi at all…
Does anyone know when he was released from prison?

A less than 2 year old car? I’d either guess it’s stolen, or that the suspect isn’t homeless, despite where he was coming...
Assuming alone, but I can’t guarantee it so it’s moo. But even if there is two, there’s no reason to believe they’ll be more likely to confess than just one.
And I can’t think any perpetrator would be actually eligible for a reward. I only mean that a reward might be enough to entice someone...
