    trial day 51: REBUTTAL; #158

I guess those defending JA are part of her warped fan club. JA didn't purchase the gas can with her credit card. She paid cash for the can, hair dye, etc. because this was part of her premeditated plan to kill him. She didn't want those items documented on her credit card. JA had...

:floorlaugh: :floorlaugh: Oh my gosh, that's right! I had forgotten about that one. Too many lies to keep track of.

ITA. They were all very credible. Deanna seems like a really, really nice lady. Very genuine and well spoken. I'm glad TA left Napoleon to her in his will.

IIRC, she said both and contradicted herself. First, she said they were "taut" and couldn't slip her hands out easily, but then she said they were loose enough to get her hands out. Another lie she was tripped up in.

:goodpost: That about sums it up. Would love to tell Nurmi that he's damn right TA had different kinds of relationships with other women because these other women didn't slash his tires, stalk him on dates, crawl through his doggie door, sleep under his Christmas tree, steal his ring, push...

:welcome5: JA had brown hair in the photos, so those picture were taken on June 4th. As for the gun, I don't know if the grandparents had additional ammunition at their home. The grandfather did indicate that the gun was loaded with jacketed hollow-points. But, even if they did have that...

Yeah, I think most people are familiar with returning things to WalMart. Even when not getting money back, they have good record-keeping in place. Just the other night, I returned an item at the register because the service desk was closed. I did a straight up exchange on a damaged item and...

So true. Somehow Nurmi and JW are sooooo offended at these "awful" words that TA called JA during an argument, but slashing a person to death - not so much. They seem fine with that. BTW, after what JA did (all the stalking, etc.), I think anything TA called her that day was accurate and...

Yes, you heard correctly. When paying by credit card, the card is only allowed to be used back-to-back twice to prevent credit card fraud. McDonalds has the same thing in place as I imagine many companies do. Therefore, she had to go inside in order to pay for the third transaction.

Also, she may have wanted to use the gas from the cans to burn evidence, and never thought anybody (even investigators) would be able to distinguish between gas going into a can and gas going into a car. Her bad for saving receipts that showed three separate gas transactions, which just...

    trial day 51: REBUTTAL; #158

Exactly. It's the same logic that JW attempted to use when she insinuated that JA wouldn't have left the camera in the washer if she was trying to cover her tracks, but both Nurmi and JW failed miserably on both attempts. JA wanted to use her credit card to prove she was in Utah (she even...

04/22/2013 - waiting for rebuttal to continue

It’s really maddening, I agree. She already tried the most common defense tactics and they didn’t work. She wasn’t able to maintain her innocence because of the DNA and camera evidence, and her alibi was shredded as well. She had no other defense tactic left other than to...

weekend discussion: discuss the trial here #155

This is really interesting because it was published in January of this year. I came across it while looking for something else. I don't know enough about handwriting forensics to say whether or not it's reliable, but this lady was spot on! YouTube Description below video... 25+ year...

weekend discussion: discuss the trial here #154

BBM - Right, which I strongly believe won't happen. I think the juror may very well place a high value on DD's credentials and skills as a psychologist and just wanted DD to clarify and confirm that the DT's diagnosis of PTSD is not logical.

    trial day 50: REBUTTAL; #153

I agree with this. I also think DD's response was consistent with the questions asked. If a person is claiming PTSD and being treated for PTSD based on flashbacks of a tiger, rather than a bear, the trauma does matter. The question was asked from the DT's point of view for clarification...

    trial day 50: REBUTTAL; #153

For a moment, I was taken aback when I heard it as well, but I think it was an actual question and not a sarcastic question like, “Can you get PTSD from a bad hair cut.” So working under the premise that it was sincere, the question becomes: Was it a juror seeking to clarify the prosecution’s...

I honestly believe that JA meets the DSM criteria for Antisocial Personality Disorder (sociopathy / psychopathy), and that's just from the little we've been able to know about her. There are a lot of crossover traits. I may be "flogged" for this opinion, but I am one who believes those tests...

I just figured her mouth was dry from being nervous. She showed an incredible amount of composure, but on the inside, she probably was somewhat nervous. I think that's why she was taking sips like you said. I saw her swishing the water around her mouth, which tells me she wasn't thirsty, but...

No flaming from me, as I have my own take on it, but I think the question was ambiguous at best.

As far as I know, it was never recovered and the perp was never found. There are some good guesses as to whose house it's setting in.
