If the best JB can do is blame Secret Science, then I feel OK knowing Caylee will get her justice starting next month.

Note as JB is talking about temp in car.......KC's covered her mouth.

I've switched off now, much better to read all your comments and watch Baez later so I can fast forward through it.

Oh I get it now! Baez is talking about Dr. Vass using Secret Science - I see!

Where are the off gases? Oh oh, now we are in Montana?

JB: "None of the parts work."

What about the STAIN in the trunk???

  • #1,466
I wonder why Baez sounds so resentful about anyone other than himself making money off this case. Is it even relevant?

Kinda like how CA doesn't like anyone making blood money off of Caylee except her. :maddening:

Jose: secret science. things being held from the eyes of the court.

IMHO: the defense has to go so so far out of the way to prove what they are tying to prove it goes into a realm of "who cares?"

Jose: Says the "cybers case" is startingly similar. A man who poisioned his wife...

I thought we were done with this? isn't this a rehash, sounds like a closing argument to me, I am confused.

I believe they are arguing the motions they filed after the first Frye hearing.

Motion In Limine
Amended; for Hearing on the Unreliability of Scientific Testimony by Karen Lowe on Post-Mortem Hair Banding
03/29/2011 Motion for Hearing
Amended; on the Unreliability of Expert Opinion Testimony of Dr. Hall

But I could be wrong.

LDB back at table.

JB saying that Vass had inadequate quality controls--Body Farm is a research lab so "things are a little more lax over there"...

Yes, we use PwrPnt presentations quite often. However, we usually save them for a jury. TruTV cut coverage and I can't see the live feeds, but I LOL'd literally when it started out with a PwrPnt slide of the 6th amendment. Like HHJP doesn't understand the 6th amendment better than JB? I'm sure the honorable HHJP was impressed, no? ;)

GMAB :floorlaugh:

I agree. It was very condescending. We deal with very technical issues in our cases so the judges appreciate it being broken down. But projecting case law and any amendments is just distasteful and insults HHJPs intelligence.

He almost had a valid and reasonable opening, arguing that the state had failed to meet it's burden under Frye. Then he promptly buried any valid points under all of this steaming pile of incomprehensible, redundant and outright inaccurate cow plop. he really doesn't know how to present in court. And no one has ever taught him that knowing when to shut up is the better winning argument.

(case in point, notice that JA opted to not cross the botanists. It confused me at first, but then realized that it was a keen strategic move. The defense had already entered the depositions into evidence. They knew the judge already viewed this as opinion testimony to be decided by the jury. Why expose their cross to defense scrutiny at this time?)
