I agree.
I was happy the judge here reminded AT she was an officer of the court and she should know better than to be dragging large cans full of garbage into the courtroom.

It's not lost on me how AT was attempting to shape the narrative in this case while all along knowing about the Amazon Kbar order ....

At some point, in my opinion, it becomes unethical to imply officers improperly tried to fit him up (e.g the car ID) when you have personally seen the hard evidence that no one was being fitted up.

Great question...

I am in the camp of BK planned a mass murder from the start. Not saying that he hadn't fixated on one roommate, but he could have had an opportunity to catch one of them out by themselves after watching them for months (coming/going to work or shopping, alone in the house during the day, etc.). If it were Kaylee, she was only there that weekend to show off her new car. Could BK have known that and had to make it work at that time?

This is also considering that BK started on the 3rd floor. I haven't completely dismissed the idea he might have started on the 2nd floor with Xana and Ethan, especially since BK would have known about the DoorDash and someone being up and mobile. I think DM heard words being spoken by Xana. I wonder which direction the latent footprint that was recovered was positioned outside of DM's door...vertical or horizontal?

Then there's the knife sheath left under Maddie, it could have been left there in his rush to escape after Murphy began seriously barking. He left going straight down the stairs to exit, and that's why DM only saw 'one eyebrow'. I don't think BK saw DM.

IDK, my mind can make arguments for both scenarios.
Thank you for weighing in.
About his exit and DM saying “ he was looking at me” or words close to that. it’s seems obvious that he did not see her because she would likely be dead.
But the one eye brow, would that physically put him in a position of coming down the stairs and past her and she saw his left side because if from directed toward her -that would make sense that she felt he was looking at her , right? And , in that case, wouldn’t that be concurrent with him have come from Xana’s room per the floor plan and the way the door opens from DM’s room? Sorry if this is a bit confusing

There are so many questions-a bunch of cars in their driveway indicated that multiple people were inside, and the house was never completely dark. DoorDash had just been there. He was taking a big chance that multiple people could be anywhere in the house and he might encounter them. Mass murder might have been part of his plan-do as much damage as he could until it ended, in whatever way that was.

As to the order of killing, they know, because of the DNA transfer and one weapon.

I get the impression this was his last opportunity -- he was committed, was not going to be deterred.

I wonder if LE has worked out why he didn't go in on his first approaches. Foot traffic? House lights?

I do think he was aware of the DoorDash vehicle, but I'm not certain he knew it was a food delivery or that it was for 1122. I think he saw lights, he looped wide, he returned, made 3-point turns, slow drive-by IMO, trying to determine what that car was doing.

If KG and Murphy hadn't been there, and everyone had been asleep, I think BK would have commit one very quiet murder, very likely left with his sheath. With just his common Elantra connecting him to the crime, he may have carried on in blessed anonymity. For sure LE wouldn't have the tight timeline -- no help from TikTok, Door Dash, DM. No barking dog, no thud, no leaving at a high rate of speed...

KG's presence foiled his plan, and from that point, it was all about getting out, killing anyone who stood in that way of that. Tragic loss of life, the intensity of which resulted in the sheath being shed and left behind, the one thing that all but guarantees his conviction.

These are my thoughts on the murders., stated briefly, and subject to change at any time.

MM. I believe she was the primary, and possibly only target, initially, and the plan was to brutally kill her with a combat knife. Have believed this since very early on.

KG. She is the one of the four that I waver on, but I really believe she was killed because she happened to be in the bed with MM when BK went into her room. Whether BK even knew that she was at the house, or not, I have no idea. Had KG been asleep in her own room, I am undecided if she would have been killed. If he had stalked the girls or house to any extent, he may have known that the two were besties, so he may have killed her too., as an extention of his likely rage aimed at MM

XK and EC. Killed because BK heard and stumbled upon Xana as he was coming downstairs after leaving MM's room. (I think MM and KG were killed first). I think she may have been attacked, trying to run back into her room, but not mortally wounded, and then EC was killed, only because he was there, and could be a witness, before he returned to finish off XK. I think both of these murders were unplanned, but accomplished with no hesitation or remorse.

DM. Alive because I believe BK was in a hurry to get out of the house by the time that she opened her door and saw him, physically and emotionally spent after brutally killing four people, including at least one who reportedly put up a fight (XK), and may have feared that 911 had been called. Also, Murphy was loudly barking. Not even sure that BK actually noticed her as he was leaving.

BF. Downstairs, alone, where there is no evidence at all that the killer ever went.

All of this is JMO.

Snipped

He had already shut his phone off.
He had already covered meticulously the inside of his car with black plastic.
He already had his kill kit with him.

To him it sounds like that the the night do or die.

Same—-this narrative is basically how I imagine it all happened as well.

I believe as you do that he really didn’t even register DM’s presence. Maybe he was in some kind of stupor by then. Flush with satisfaction about Maddie’s fate, along with the trouble he’d had by killing 4x the amount of people he’d planned on killing.

Satiated but also dazed.

I think when he got home he thought he was safely tucked away, and was able to summon his jubilation as seen in his ghoulish thumbs-up selfie.

Starting at 1:07.00 the expert talks about Sy Ray, uses 'snake oil' in the same sentence. If there's anyone who is still thinking Sy Ray has an alibi for BK, this is worth the listen, particularly the last 23 minutes, from 1:07.00. He likens Sy Ray's software to a polygraph. A tool but not suitable for the courtroom.

I remember this Pfoff guy from the Berreth case. The media relied on him heavily, and he provided excellent analysis.

FYI

Very technical. Guest is an expert on mobile devices, call details records, etc.

Let me summarize it.

If you have a mobile device, you have no privacy.

Have a nice day.

@Megnut TYVM for listening & summarizing.

Baffling that Peter Tragos hyped the latest Sy Ray gambit

Listening to this is so helpful thank you for bringing it to us!!

It is super interesting that he works for the defense, was originally a computer engineer, then became a detective and specialized in this area. JMOO

Pfoff also says this:

Government experts are biased. They can't help themselves. They are absolutely biased in their analysis. So, If you have an fbi agent whose job is to support criminal investigations, they are looking for guilt. I've actually seen FBI, localLE, multiple federal agencies where they leave records out that don't meet their narrative.

Well, you only play your staked reputation card once.

I'm not sure Sy Ray will even make it into the courtroom. A gross misrepresentation of the data is one thing but the allegations? Stunning.

From the sound of it, his software identifies a broad target area (where a phone might theoretically be) but LE has the phone. They'll have satellite data!!! Until he turned it off, they'll know exactly where it was.

Super duper expert dupe. Partial alibi. People, if BK had even a shadow of a fraction of an alibi, she'd say what it is.

IMO she hoped to snow the judge.

It's not by accident that it wasn't until late in the day, during the last hearing, after the judge mowed her down with facts, she went for broke, citing too much discovery and not enough time. She didn't lead with it.

It's tragic that we're here, but it's fun to watch the Defense circle the drain.

Speaking of snow, it goes back to your other point about him being pushed and it having to be then. It was going to start snowing, making it a lot more difficult to get away without tracks, and in slippery conditions in various ways. JMOO
