His coworker, kept a spare housekey in her office drawer. Office she shared with BK. Key which disappeared and reappeared.
But not before someone was in her apartment. Moved her burned brownies, put them in her microwave. What??????

Then lined up all her toiletries on her toilet.

Took a letter and a watch.

Super freaky.

It wasn't clear to me, from the way they worded it---if she suspected BK of having been the one to do that (taken her keys, went into her apartment) before she asked him to install the camera system or after. YKWIM?

He sat on a chair in XK's room! Omg. Did that freak sit there and watch her die? "It's okay, I'm here to help you. "
LE found Xana lying on the floor in what was described as a massive pool of blood, and Ethan was dead in the bed. Makes me wonder if she actually was dead before he attacked Ethan. I always assumed she may have been injured and then Ethan was killed before he returned to Xana. And the carving of Ethans lower legs, apparently after already suffering a mortal slash to an artery. The absolute brutality of it all is literally sickening. JMO

All kinds of delays and other problems flying home to NYC from Florida; it was an all-day affair. I was looking forward to Dateline but am too exhausted to watch until tomorrow.

Hence I have to skip all the comments until I can watch, but I am certain it’s going to be a blockbuster.

Meanwhile, likes and loves to everyone until I catch up.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I think one of the biggest revelations was that Kohberger basically kept the digital version of a murder scrapbook on his phone.

A bit more high tech than cutting out newspaper articles.
Yes agree. A sign of the times we live in esp. considering BK’s generation has grown up in the digital age with advanced technology and posting online/keeping notes/mementos etc. in one’s phone/digital device/s being as common as riding bikes and building forts in the snow were to baby boomers and Gen X’ers and many generations before.

One of many reasons I’m thankful BK was caught (thank God) well before Ted Bundy due to BK being born almost 50 years later than TB and thanks to the advances in technology aka digital age we live in. Otherwise, I’m afraid more lives would’ve been lost/taken had BK been born 30-40-50 etc. year’s earlier which, unsettling and scary to think about in terms of potential for killer going unnoticed/more innocent lives taken by evil.

BK made three phone calls to his father's number/ account the morning of. One was nearly an hour long.

Just a day in the life?

Three calls....two of which were lengthy. *boggles*

I wonder if it was a matter of feeling like he needed to share his excitement with someone (even though he wouldn't be able to tell him why he was excited) so he didn't pop. Perhaps he acted as though his excitement was due to hie amazing success at grad school. If so, I wonder if even his dad/parents thought he was acting unusually positive.

How early were these calls received on the East Coast? I figure he would’ve had to wait until at least 9-10 AM for the calls to not come at an absurdly early hour for his parents.

Dateline started for me at 9 pm EST. Was it shown earlier?
OMG….Ethan’s legs.
The word used to describe Ethan's lower legs wounds were that they were "carved". That must have had some significance, but what may it have been? Some people have speculated that BK may have intentionally left the sheath in Maddie's bed. I have never ascribed to that belief, but I wonder if the carving was meant to be some sort of signature that would be repeated in some future murders, something to tie his perhaps planned for string of crimes together. Or was it just extra viciousness brought on by perhaps rage and jealousy that this likely jock, was in a home spending the night with yet another girl that he knew that he would not have stood a chance with. Was Xana still clinging to life, and was BK performing for her, showing her that he could incapacitate her man with little effort? Maybe I am giving him too much credit, but I feel like that act meant something, as it was completely unnecessary. JMO

I won't be sold on this carving thing until we hear it at trial. It simply doesn't make sense to me that he did something like that, considering his plan had gone about as bad as it possibly could. He'd just engaged Xana, who put up quite a struggle, and then he takes the time to inflict wounds like that on Ethan's legs?

I'd be shocked if that's true.

I can agree with that. But, it troubles me about the little dog Buddy who was "filleted" or so that's what his owner's first said that. Then there was a bit of commentary from the fish and wildlife department that it was natural predation. I didn't believe that then. I'm not sure what I believe now but BK might like using or experimenting with a knife. It doesn't make any sense to me. JMOO

Tomorrow, when the episode is posted on regular YT, I plan to use the transcript to go through and make a list of the all the dated events mentioned in it. Unfortunately, as far as I can see, youtubetv doesn't have the transcript function.

That episode is going to need another watch, for sure.

So, a close friend of Maddie's who had also lived in the house until the summer, Ashlin Couch, would have been spending that weekend at the 1122 house except her parents ended up coming back a day later from a trip than they had intended--so they asked Ashlin to stay one extra day at their house in Coeur D’Alene to watch the family dogs.
