I haven't seen the other Dateline episodes, but were some of them death penalty cases? If not, I think that might be a significant difference.
I think of the Scott Peterson trial. It was discussed and dissected to death. Also received a death penalty verdict. Same with Chad Daybell. I’m not bothered at all. MOO

Interesting idea that BF might have witnessed BK removing his kill clothes. I don’t think anyone else has suggested that and if it true, what an evidentiary treasure! Like video of Murdaugh at the dog kennel. OMO.
I don't see how his car could be located where she would have been able to actually see him due to the layout of the yard and house, but she very well could have seen the car speed off and maybe seen a license plate number or partial.

MOO Since Xana fought she likely saved DM.
After silencing what he thought was going be a 911 caller (he was right) and then to find yet another person and killing them too, he may or may have not seen DM on the way out, but MOO his crime math starting to kick in and he did not want to repeat going after someone only to have more people and more fighting back, so with time ticking by and the chances of apprehension growing by the second he walked out.
OH this is a good point..when he sees Dylan he doesn't know if she has already called 911..he has no idea... and he gets the %$@* out of there. mOO

I know that I, like probably almost all of you here, was anxiously anticipating the Dateline episode that aired last Friday, and I dare say that very many here watched it, and those that did not have likely seen bits and pieces, or have read of many of the new details that were presented. I have actually watched it more than once now.

Guess what? I have friends that know nothing of the upcoming trial. They couldn't tell you who Bryan Kohberger is if their lives depended on it. They may have heard about the murders 2 and a half years ago, when they happened, and have not given them a thought in at least the last two years. They do not watch Dateline, or 20/20, or 48 Hours. Many do not watch news at all on tv, local or national. I'll bet each of you has friends or family like this too.

My point is, even in Idaho, where probably people are, as a group, more likely to have heard of the murders, and some of the details of them, moreso than there are perhaps in other areas of the country, I still think there will be no difficulty finding 15 people who have not followed 100+ threads on WS, like a lot of us have, and have not heard or read everything we have, and can hear the evidence presented in this case, and render a fair verdict, based only on the evidence presented in this case. And when they do, to borrow a phrase that I see here often, its bye bye Bry. JMO
I agree. I have no friends or family following this case, except my daughter. And she barely keeps up. It’s so frustrating. 😄

I still haven't been able to see the Dateline episode, I've been getting everything I can from MSM and YouTube. I know there's been talk for a while now, though, that Dylan thought she heard someone up/down the stairs. I wish I could find more on the timing of this. I think that might have been Kohberger himself, only Kohberger. It certainly seems possible. And I'm wondering what the proximity was in terms of the timing of her hearing that movement of someone on the stairs... to the time when she opened the door and spotted him clad in black.

I really, really wish I could get more on that stairs point. I just spent an hour searching and it's slim pickings on that particular point.

Also, while I can still edit, does anyone have any idea why the two surviving roommates were taking issue with XK being dressed in black? Referring to this:

DM to BF: "No one is answering."

DM to BF: "I'm really confused rn."

BF to DM: "Ya dude wtf"

BF to DM: "Xana was wearing all black"

DM to BF: "I'm freaking out rn"

I know. Same. My son will occasionally ask me if I still hang out with my "internet murder group". I assume that is y'all. LOL.

I've been adamant about this for a long time now.

Let's put ourselves in his shoes (all MOO):

His plan dramatically fell apart. Killed 3 people more than we think he intended to kill. That's a lot of unanticipated violence. A lot more blood. A lot more unpredictability. Loud noises (thumps and furniture) one of which could be heard on neighboring cameras accompanied by dog barks.

Now we find out he might have sat down in exhaustion.

Remember, we'er starting to hear (IMO) evidence that Xana may have gone upstairs causing Kohberger to chase her (forgetting the sheath) which might have led to her death. His intention was to probably prevent her from calling the police.

IMO, when he made eye contact with Dylan he was likely shocked. Probably thought she heard and/or witnessed the entire thing and knew what had just transpired. So he high tailed it out of the neighborhood. And I believe that BF saw him outside of her bedroom window getting out of his bloody clothing while running to the car.

Lastly, I've always thought that his drive by the house that morning wasn't to bask in glory, or see a frantic scene of law enforcement and yellow tape.....

IMO, Kohberger saw Dylan and figured that she had most certainly called the police. So when the morning rolled around and he didn't see anything reported he drove by the house in utter disbelief (IMO).

I don't think it was in a "did I imagine the entire thing" sort of way (obviously) but I do think he was probably utterly confused, because again, he saw Dylan.

All MOO
OK. What makes "us" think he only intended to kill one person? If that were true, why break into a house where there may be as many as 6 or more people? There were still 4 roommates and it was a big weekend and it was a party house! There could have been alums or BFs or anybody in there. If he just wanted to kidnap one of the women, why not do it when she is home alone?

Bundy killed two women and seriously wounded two more in the sorority attack. I've always thought BK meant to kill as many as he could. Starting on the top floor might have been a flow thing, climbing stairs while fresh and moving down. But I'm wide open to hearing arguments to the contrary.

I know BK fancies himself a genius, but what idiot goes into a 6 bedroom home, with 2 extra vehicles parked there, to kill one person….without having surveilled the home that very night to ensure who may actually have been there. What if Maddie, his assumed primary victim, had not even been there? I mean, it just defies any common sense, IMO.

My family refers to us as my “crime club”. 😂

I have no idea why we have been “lead” to believe Maddie was the primary and only potential victim, but it seems that’s what has become the norm. I have no idea how anyone would know this, but I cannot wait to hear exactly what the facts are. IMO

I believe the "black clothing" issue was because DM said she saw a guy dressed in black heading into the kitchen or towards the slider, and BF trying to explain it away as if DM might have seen XK, since she was wearing all black. That was kind of my take on it. You know how when you text sometimes someone answers something from four texts back?

I believe we've seen a lot of things out of order. When we finally see it all in order it will make more sense.

. And I believe that BF saw him outside of her bedroom window getting out of his bloody clothing while running to the car.

IMHO, when you read the text conversation between DM and BF, that doesn't seem likely.

First they spoke on 2 very brief calls, then texting started:

D.M. to B.F.: No one is answering
D.M. to B.F.: I'm rlly confused rn.
D.M. to Kaylee: Kaylee
D.M. to B.F.: What's going on
B.F. to D.M.: Ya dude wtf
B.F. to D.M.: Xana was wearing all black
D.M. to B.F.: I'm freaking out m
D.M. to B.F.: No it's like a ski mask almost
B.F. to D.M.: Stfu
B.F. to D.M.: Actually
D.M. to B.F.: Like he had soemtbinfover is for head and little nd mouth
D.M. to B.F.: Bethant I'm not kidding o am so freaked out
B.F. to D.M.: So am I

IMHO, if BF had seen someone outside changing clothes, she would be talking about that to DM in these texts, not just focusing on what DM saw. If she had seen something (a person outside changing clothes) that could corroborate what DM saw, she'd be mentioning and describing it in detail.

IMHO, BF also wouldn't be suggesting that DM might have seen Xana walking past her room, since Xana had been wearing all black like the person DM told her about. If she had seen someone outside changing, BF would be able to tell the different between BK and XK just by height and body type even if she couldn't see a face. She would also be more likely to assume that who she saw was the same person DM saw and not suggest it was XK--because at that point a stranger in the house is more likely than Xana outside changing her clothes.

From the motion for Franks hearing: Referring to DM, “ at approximately 4 am, she heard Ms. Goncalves walk upstairs with her dog before running back downstairs and saying “someone’s here”.

We have yet to hear about the tip for an alternate suspect AT announced at the last hearing. Maybe she's gotten enough time now to research it.
She doesn’t have time to go through the discovery she’s complaining she’s not getting as far as we know. When is she going to have time to get the weight of the planets off her shoulders to come up with this new sun in the solar system?

Yes her other capital case probably has less terabytes.

I've been looking too and just found something. Looks like it originated in the sealed documents attached to the defense's Franks motion. But the judge addresses it in his order re: the Franks motion.

According to Defendant, D.M. was unequivocal in her three interviews when she reported that, at approximately 4:00 a.m., she heard Ms. Goncalves walk upstairs with her dog before running back down the stairs saying "someone's here."! In Draft Exhibit A, however, law enforcement represented that "[D.M] said she heard who she thought was Goncalves say something to the effect of 'there's someone here.'"

footnote 20:
Based on Defendant's proffer, it is not a foregone fact that D.M. was mistaken when she said she heard Ms. Goncalves. D.M. reported it was approximately 4:00 a.m. when she heard Ms. Goncalves walk upstairs and then run back down the stairs saying, "Someone's here." Ms. Kernodle received a DoorDash delivery at the residence at 4:00 a.m. See, Payne Exhibit A at Bates 5160. It is entirely possible Ms. Goncalves ran downstairs when she heard the delivery-person and then went to bed, after which she was killed.

I don’t know how many TB she’s wanting to go through on her own without assistance for 2 DP cases & still complain she isn’t getting it fast enough but yet it’s too much for just one of those. I do know JH wasn’t thrilled when she tried to complain about BK’s case being overwhelming for her.

Maybe she can request assistance from NASA with all her requests from under the sun.
