Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #204

My initial thought was a contempt of court charge, and according to this Indiana lawyer, that's what it is. I could probably go find a law or some case law on the issue, but I think I'll take this guy's word for it.

That cites federal court.
Here is what my Indiana jury summons says about not showing up for jury selection. I assume jurors are told the same/similar for serving on a jury. JMO I cut the top off because it it has my personal information on it but besides that it just says what court it is from.

the testimony about the search of RAs house makes me wonder if the knife play was the fantasy. Something about control and sadism. and a fixation with the bridge.

That was exactly my point. I have seen people keeping tools, but the MS reported that they saw photos of an extreme number of bladed weapons in the master bedroom. The Delphi Murders: Richard Allen on Trial: Day Six: "It Doesn't Matter, It's Over"

In fact in cross, the D tried to ask TL (I am paraphrasing) 'hey, knives are normal to have around' and NM objected. The gallery did not seem convinced that the amount of knives was normal.

All MOO

Rozzi askes Oberg if it’s possible that an unspent round could have been cycled through multiple firearms, she agrees.

I don’t know if I can handle the defense making an argument that the round was cycled through RA’s firearm, but that was before the real killer got it.

Bottom link is a Marion County State court link.

Day seven of the Delphi Murders Trial began with the testimony of Melissa Oberg. She is a former firearms examiner for the Indiana State Police. However, by the end of the day, there were only 15 jurors. One of the four alternates was excused by Special Judge Fran Gull due to a family emergency. That leaves 12 jurors and three alternates.

There we go, family emergency. Call off the bounty hunter.

Have we heard what if anything was found in his car yet? Or just the search of the house

I don't think we have a list of items, if there were any, that were removed from the car but in last night's episode TMS reports that Jennifer Auger asked ISP trooper Dave Vido about it yesterday. 1:33:42 link above

Kevin: And then she said "Is there anything about the car found in the garage that links it to the murder of Abigail Williams or Liberty German?" and Vido said "Yeah, it's on the video of the Hoosier Harveststore driving there."
Aine: "At the time he* said it was driving there."
Kevin: Auger kind of, I don't know, did she sigh? And she said "Well, was there anything inside the vehicle that linked it to the murder?" and he said "No."

*Dave Vido is referring to Richard Allen here

There is actually a precedent set in the State of Indiana by a different Judge with the very same witness Dr. William Tobin and his 'expert' testimony was not allowed as he had not examined the actual evidence.

He was deposed in September by the State in this case and did the exact same thing yet again. He didn't even view the State's evidence or examine the bullet found at the crime scene or RA's firearm:

Yes and small world, Baldwin was lead attorney for the defense team representing Smith.

“Smith’s lead attorney is Andrew Baldwin, who is also co-counsel for Richard Allen in the Delphi murders case.

Hmmmm

Testimony resumes Saturday, which is the second-year anniversary of Allen's arrest. The prosecution is expected to call a DNA expert to the stand. The trial is expected to conclude in mid-November.

I’m curious - do we know of any DNA so far that would help the prosecution? I was thinking we hadn’t heard of ANY.

Just want to say thanks to so many here that are knowledgeable about areas that are completely outside of my lane.

I know how to use my devices, but don’t know anything about the internal tech stuff.

I know nothing about guns nor ammunition, nor do I care to, but I do understand how things can match.

I’ve also never heard of a Carhartt jacket until this case. If they’re popular in NYC then I’m unaware. No one in my social or family circles wears one.

It’s been an education. I tend to skim through those posts but I do glean a lot.

My main focus is of course how the jacket, bullet and phone line up to show that RA is BG. In my opinion, based on how well-versed so many of you are, and based on LE info, I still believe there’s a giant, pulsating arrow pointing straight at RA.
I had a Forest Green Carhart in the late 90's in Boston

Not yet. It’s either something out of left field that indirectly links RA to the crime, or a witness to try and get in front of the defense’s complaints about lack of DNA.

In my opinion.

Also in other court news regarding leaked photos, MW's case was DISSMISSED.
I guess it wasn't that big of a deal after all.

We haven’t, that I recall. I believe they said no DNA at crime scene. I’m holding out hope that the search warrant returned something of the girls that contained DNA.
