Was anyone else surprised by BW reaction to being asked about if he had made any stops by the D? Just felt like it jumped very quickly to a defensive. I am NOT implicating him, but did sort of wonder why he jumped so fast when I read the notes from yesterday.

Not surprised at all. The guy was checking on his snowbird parents' home and gets dragged into a double murder case. He was probably questioned extensively by LE, had his personal property seized for comparison, no doubt LE questioned his co-workers and supervisor. I'd be really mad, too. All he was doing was checking his folks house.

I gotta tell you if I were Weber I’d be PO’ed as well. His property was searched early on, nothing found, then drug in to testify and now being subpoenaed to come back, yeah I’d PO’d.

Some folks just don’t want to be bothered.
I can sure understand that. However, changing up one's testimony in a murder case almost guarantees a return trip to court. MOO

I'd like to know more about the visit with his family that morning. Why was he so against having lunch with them? What's off-putting about going out to lunch on a Monday afternoon, especially as nice of a day as that one was with warm, easy temps?

Sure, it's possible lunch with family bored him, but seems like something a person would go along with rather than skip lunch and drink beer instead. Was he always uncooperative with them?

Was there a specific reason both he and his sibling met with Mom that morning? Was there a conversation that upset him?

And how do you go from visiting with family in the morning to murder in the afternoon....and then go on with life.

We don't know that much about RA, but what little we do know seems so pathetic, self-centered, and empty.

Recovering alcoholic and former day drinker here. Time off work not spent drinking is wasted time. I think it's as simple as that. I skipped so many family gatherings/outings just so I could drink instead. Especially towards the end when I was starting to suffer from DTs/withdrawals. I could easily see him fitting in this. Once he got three beers in him, he likely felt "better" and "adventurous".

He probably also has a feeling that they're going to paint him as the murderer. I'd be furious.

Early on, I remember reading that he was just checking on the home but in this story they state that he lived near the trails. Has either story been confirmed?

I'm with you... am also a recovering alcoholic with 25+ years sobriety.

As you very well know yourself, drinkers like us who have a problem often minimize how many we have drunk. I did that to my wife, when I said I had 2 glassed of wine.. it was really more like 6 or 7.

I highly doubt he had only 3 beers. His tolerance would have been high and 3 probably wouldn't even move the needle for him.

I've followed this case since it happened... and I have never heard and fact or even rumor that a van or any vehicle came down that gravel road at the time. So, there is VERY LITTLE CHANCE she saw it on the internet and then told RA about it.

The only way this could have come to RA was thru discovery and/or his lawyers.

Exactly - nowhere have we ever discussed this

And the State did not make this public at the 3 day hearing either. If the D even realised the significance of this, it's something they've kept quiet about

Appreciate the insights. Very useful info.

Hard to know what level he was at. 3 might only have been to steady the ship

So the D surrogates are just straight into accusing the next guy then?

They only filed for SODDI evidence yesterday - against 2 completely different people!

And the erstwhile Dr Wala was in on the scheme to break the fall guy right? Because she listened to some podcasts?

I'm sure he's been cleared so there is nothing for him to worry about as far as being the killer goes.

I get anxiety when someone at work tells me they want to talk, even if I know 100% I have done nothing wrong. Getting interrogated by a loud attorney on the stand... Can't imagine it is a 'no-anxiety' situation.

All MOO

Does it matter where he lived? He's' not a suspect or even a POI.

Defense Diaries on Twitter (which has been posted on here) makes it out like he bought a 6 pack, drank 3 at one point, then drank another 3 before going home and heading to the trails. So 6 beers before heading to the trail.

Yeah, but that's what RA says. Double that amount, and I think it would be more accurate. Addicts lie about how much they do. If he says he bought a six pack, I translate that into either a 12 pack, or a six with a half pint of something stronger.

@149Zone7

Today jurors will hear 2 hours of prison phone calls where Richard Allen confesses to the murders of Abby and Libby. The calls between Allen and his wife and mother should be powerful. State is expected to rest at the end of this testimony.

Earlier this morning:

@kithanleytv

We’re just under 3 hours out from day 12 of witness testimony in the #Delphi murders trial…Our team sent these photos and say not as many people are camped out this morning, just about a dozen chairs.Court starts at 9 a.m.

I'm thankful this process has remained orderly (and seems even friendly) and not a circus, but how much easier it would've been on everyone to have cameras in the courtroom.

Useless lament, I know.
