VERDICT WATCH Abby & Libby - The Delphi Murders - Richard Allen Arrested - #213

When it doesn’t freeze, go outside of a morning between 6 & 7:30 am & let me know what you see on the vehicles parked outside. Similar weather right now as in mid-Feb. Once the sun hits it, the vehicles look like they’ve been through a car wash for a short period of time. If not, let me know & I’ll take a picture.

My backyard is covered in leaves & were dry & "crunchy" yesterday evening. Zero rain last night but they’re all soft & wet this morning. High humidity & time of year. Happens every year, around now & then again in late winter/early spring. Not too hard to imagine given everyone & their brother described 2/13 as unseasonably warm & the following night as quite/very cold.
I wanted to say exactly this! But struggled with conveying it. Lol

Can I ask what would it prove anyway, if there were no visible drag marks?

Sorry for the delay & if the above wasn’t addressed already, no drag marks opens the door for there potentially being more than 1 person involved (carried to final position). Round & round we go.

Pretty detailed summary from the local Delphi paper without narrative or opinion:

Thank you! I missed everything yesterday.

Chat GPT says "In Indiana, the Indiana Supreme Court oversees the licensing and discipline of attorneys. The Indiana Supreme Court Disciplinary Commission is specifically responsible for investigating and prosecuting allegations of attorney misconduct, ensuring that attorneys adhere to the ethical standards required by the state's legal profession. The Commission works under the authority of the Indiana Supreme Court to maintain the integrity of the legal system and protect the public."
All bar associations are overseen by the Supreme Courts of their respective states. When an attorney is issued their license to practice law, they are sworn in by their state's highest/designated court. I, like all other attorneys, took an oath in my state's Supreme Court.

I'm glad ChatGPT knows this.

Yeah, that's according to the Franks by the Defense which was ruled inadmissible. Cicero had crime scene photos that showed drag marks on the back of Libby's thighs and bum. If dragged by her arm, like suggested and marked in the CS sketches, it makes perfect sense and explains how her arm was left above her head.

I think RA had a perverse reason to want Libby and Abby to be looking towards each other as they died. MOO
That was not from the Franks motion. It was from Cicero’s testimony at trial.

It’s happening here in IN as we speak - certainly nothing new. Warm days, cooler nights (30s & 40s) combined with humidity makes everything wet, sometimes resembling a light rain. Got cool enough last night that there was a slight frosting. Sun will melt that quickly & everything is wet. Keeps happening until the temps aren’t as far apart & humidity lowers.

One could file a complaint with the local/State bar association.

The American Bar Association is a voluntary association for attorneys. Membership in its ranks is not necessary to practice law and it has no disciplinary power over attorneys.
You’re not going to get anywhere making a complaint against an attorney for defamation in the course of a court proceeding. The attorneys are obligated to bring up any potential third party suspects to defend their client.

What exactly is the defamation?

Right, the Defense offered up nothing in the way of good ole' Ricky character witness testimony. I believe that was intentional as they didn't want to open the door to the State to refute with negative character testimony. I bet we hear about things after the verdict.

We know next to nothing about RA except he was a loner, worked at CVS, liked to play pool at the local pub, and often sat out in his driveway drinking a beer after work.

Character evidence is also inadmissible, with few exceptions.

I never even hinted at this part you said: "Goodness now somehow it's suspicious that BW came home and didn't see the happenings going on quite the distance away."
I'm sorry if I was mistaken, that's how I read this to mean

"MOO based on researching
The house sits on top of the high hill. From it there is a clear view of the creek.
And yes, people can be seen from that distance. MOO"

What exactly is the defamation?
The FM accused and directly named another man of murdering Libby and Abby. Maybe defamation legally, maybe not.

I admit that I introduced the topic, but I don’t care to discuss it further today.

Awaiting a verdict in the trial of Richard Allen, where the actual evidence of his murders of Libby and Abby came into court.

Lots of leaves on the ground to mask it though too but I rely on the expert who interupted the scene photos. He took into consideration everything we'll never get to see and wouldn't want to see. It is a round and round isn't it.

I am curious, if anyone on here has actually been on a jury for a murder trial.

If so, can you share some perspective on how it was organized, votes taken, how questions are asked/discussed and how the process works?
After choosing a foreperson, it quickly moved onto a first vote to see where everybody was at. Then it was a matter of getting a flipchart, reviewing our individual notes, and writing up all the points that had convinced those who were convinced, for those few who wanted more time before deciding. A second vote had a unanimous verdict of guilty. The worst part for me was knowing my guilty vote would result in a very long prison sentence for at least one of the two defendants and they would miss out on the life they could have had. It helps knowing that 11 other people all agree, but I can't express how much of a heavy responsibility it still is. Nothing like weighing up a case on a forum. We slept on it because it was the end of the day anyway, and returned our verdicts the next morning. I cried during the delivery of our verdicts because it was such an intense moment.

Defendants cannot be charged with the same crime twice. If RA is found not guilty, he goes free and cannot be brought to trial for those charges again.

I am not a lawyer.

Thank you . So even if (for example ) dna testing advances and they retested and found RA’s DNA inside of the girls (ie new evidence), he couldn’t be retried ?

Here in the UK, it is a high bar, but a person can be retried if there is new and compelling evidence .
