Mushroom investigation uncovers shitake and porcini readily available for sale
The jury saw Mr Schonknecht's investigation document which listed the businesses he visited and contained photos of mushrooms and packaging he found at those stores.
The businesses listed were: Everyday Asian Supermarket, Golden Grocery, Little Korea, Pacific Asian Oakleigh and Oakleigh Fresh Fruit Barn in Oakleigh.
In Clayton, he visited: Sarawan Spices & Home Entertainment, Hong Kong Asian Food Supermarket, Fresh Fruit Mart, Alishaan India Pty Ltd and Jireh Mart.
The photos depicted some products from Everyday Asian Supermarket including dried mushrooms, sliced shitake mushrooms in commercial packaging and some Goldfish branded mushrooms.
Other photos depicted 100gram bags of dried Porcini mushrooms found at Everyday Asian Grocery.
Mr Schonknecht also displayed photos taken from the other businesses listed and found an array of mushrooms including whole 200gram shitake mushroom packages.
'(The search) was open to every mushroom available at those stores,' Mr Schonknecht said.
Mr Schonknecht said he received a later email which stated he was asked to narrow his search to only sliced mushrooms.
The Monash Council health officer said he spoke to a store person who explained they sold mushrooms in smaller batches because it was preferred by customers.

Shitakes ‘removed from sale’ during mushroom hunt
Monash Council Environmental Health Officer Troy Schonknecht continued answering questions from Crown prosecutor Jane Warren.
He said none of the premises he visited had changed suppliers or received offers from other mushroom pedlars.
'All premises visited and identified as selling fresh or dried mushrooms had not changed their supplier since April 2023,' Mr Schonknecht said.
'They (also) had not had anyone try to sell them mushrooms.'
Mr Schonknecht said the second store he visited in Oakleigh, the Golden Grocery, was the only store which repackaged mushrooms from a larger bag.
Mr Schonknecht, who the jury heard visited 14 stores during his investigation, said he sent an email to the Environmental Health Officer Group on August 4.
None in the group, who were all health officers at Monash Council, had any 'awareness' any stores in the council area which sold any mushrooms in small unlabelled bags or 'lolly bags'.
Mr Schonknecht said he informed his findings to Victoria Health Department officer Sally Ann Atkinson who, the jury heard, previously spoke with Patterson for several hours about where she sourced the mushrooms.
The jury also saw photos of repackaged black fungus and a dried Tea Tree mushroom.
Mr Schonknecht said, under cross examination from defence lawyer Sophie Stafford (pictured), shitake mushrooms were temporarily removed from sale for ‘some time’ while his investigation was underway.
