How would one normally obtain a log style fillet beef for a traditional BW?

I don't imagine you get them from supermarkets that sell prepackaged meats? It would be a tailored request from a local butcher that would cut it for you on the spot or maybe pre-ordered?

If this is correct, I don't understand why Erin said she was limited to small cuts at the supermarkets like Woolworths.

My local supermarkets would keep a fillet aside if requested; or I would ask a local butcher for a fillet and stipulate the weight I needed.

Erin says her condition improved in hospital

By Joseph Dunstan

Mr Mandy asks how Ms Patterson's symptoms were during Monday afternoon.

"I remember still having toilet trips at Leongatha," she says.

She says the drugs helped with nausea, but it came and went a bit.

When she woke up the next day, Erin says she was feeling "quite a lot better".
By Tuesday, Erin was 'feeling quite a bit better.'

Here is how her lunch guests were feeling on Monday/Tuesday :

By the time Don arrived at the Austin, Professor Warrillow said Mr Patterson was critically ill and in multiple organ failure, with extremely high measurements of substances in the blood consistent with massive liver injury, grossly abnormal blood clotting and a range of other abnormalities.
Tuesday:
He was in an induced coma with a life support ventilation tube down into his windpipe while receiving medication to assist his comfort.

Heather Wilkinson arrived at the Austin next, on Tuesday, August 1
, 2023 at about 1.30pm. She was also critically ill in a state of multiple organ failure and being intubated. She was receiving a number of the therapies, like the others, to target the amanita poisoning from the death cap mushrooms she had ingested including silibinin and multidose activated charcoal but due to the rapid progression of her multiple organ failure she was considered too unwell to undergo the complex and extensive surgery required for a liver transplant.

Ian Wilkinson also arrived at the Austin Hospital on August 1 at 4.25pm.

At Dandenong Hospital it became apparent that he too had acute liver failure and was therefore transferred to the Austin which hosts the State Liver Transplant service and has experience treating patients with amanita mushroom poisoning.

“He was already intubated and on mechanical ventilation and he was critically ill with acute liver failure,” said Dr Warrillow.

At this point, the children were in the paediatric wing of the hospital.

Don arrived at the Austin Hospital on Monday, July 31, 2023 at 2.30pm by ambulance from Dandenong. He had displayed acute onset vomiting with hematemesis, that is vomit with blood, and profuse bloody diarrhoea from the previous Saturday evening, before being diagnosed with acute liver failure after transfer from Korumburra Hospital to Dandenong.

By the time he arrived at the Austin, Professor Warrillow said Mr Patterson was critically ill and in multiple organ failure, with extremely high measurements of substances in the blood consistent with massive liver injury, grossly abnormal blood clotting and a range of other abnormalities.

I think that Erin banging on about her weight might be a feeble attempt to say that because she is a heavy woman, the toxins didn't hit her so hard. Her body could absorb more with less effect. (As well as her after-cake bulimia).

Though we know that wouldn't be true because the blood takes the toxins straight to the liver.

But it is likely a little bit more mud being thrown at the wall, seeing if it sticks.

So why did Heather question about the ONE mismatched plate that Erin ate from? Was Heather a liar too?
Big bank account, big property portfolio, big house, big kitchen, big appliances, probably lots of cupboards, and she's a "great cook" - and virtually no plates? Weird.

So even before they got to the cake and fruit, to all intents and purposes Heather, Gail and Don were already dead.
While Gail, Heather, Don and Ian were praying with Erin to heal her cancer concerns, they were already dead. 😟

That and, today we heard that she was having gastric bypass surgery instead of Ovarian cancer.

She fabricated a story about undergoing tests for elbow pain, which she used as a cover for planning gastric bypass surgery. Patterson explained that she sought the surgery to address her weight and eating habits but felt embarrassed to disclose this to her family. To avoid revealing the true nature of her medical appointments, she allowed her relatives to believe she was undergoing serious treatment, which also facilitated logistical support for her children during this period.

So, she'd rather "break it" to the kids that she had life-threatening cancer than tell them she was planning to have gastric bypass surgery (no arrangements made for that surgery, that we have heard)?

They were, and the fact that Ian survived is such a miracle.

She’s clearly very messed up in the way she thinks and reasons.

I don’t believe anything she says at this point.

I think she's a malignant narcissist.
She extremely intelligent but playing dumb.
Her intelligence and competence prior to recent events have masked her emotional lack and slippery ego defences.
She's high conflict, controlling, grandiose, superiority complex, arrogant, makes unilateral decisions...
but the main thing
she has done a classic Narc destruction pattern which is - scorched earth policy.

She's taken everyone down and destroyed all the love, affection, relationships, the future itself.
That's what they do when they feel wronged and slighted.
She'll still be triumphant in the end as she's annihilated everything.
Like most of this persuasion she'll thrive in prison and be valued for her assistance in things like reading and writing letters and organising stuff for others more vulnerable.
She'll probably study some more and be perfectly content in a little bubble.

Woolworths have full eye fillet and individual steaks cut. Most country towns have at least one butcher too. Iam sure it was just convenient to buy everything at Woolies.

Hmm, sounds like she was too stingy to pay for a piece of beef tenderloin from the Leongatha butcher, and instead of her described "beef wellingtons", the guests were fed some cheap steak pasties filled with over cooked mushroom goo mixed with her specially foraged and prepared dehydrated and powdered deathcaps slapped under the frozen pastry. Served with pre made store bought mashed potato, beans (were they frozen or canned? I doubt fresh) and the "pîece de resistance" - topped with packaged pre made reheated gravy. I don't think she ever intended to spend much money or time on this supposedly "special meal" but made it sound like she did. For me it sounds pretty yuk.

She's such a drama queen that rather than tell her caring in laws and children that she's having a gastric bypass she ups the risk stakes with a fake cancer diagnosis to extract more sympathy from them ugh she's repulsive.

She clearly doesn't care or thought about the damage she has done to her children with all of her lies

Woolworths usually has eye fillets, there are good butchers in Leongatha and Korumburra. I think she chose to buy cheap steak - she was pissed with them. The pretend cancer and excuse to come for a meal was a means to an end, and they all found themselves very sick and dying.....

She said she made that statement as she hoped it could become a way of solving “logistical” issues that could arise with her children when she had gastric bypass surgery, which she did not want to tell anyone about.

“Something I’d been thinking about in the background and doing some preparation for was I had come to the conclusion that I wanted to do something once and for all about my weight and my poor eating habits, so I was planning to have gastric bypass surgery.

“I remember thinking I didn’t want to tell anybody what I had done, I was really embarrassed about it, so I thought letting them believe I had something that required serious treatment … [would] help me with logistics around the kids, and I wouldn’t have to tell them.”

Patterson said she had a pre-appointment regarding the surgery scheduled for September 2023.

So, entertaining for a moment that this is true, she basically wanted to use Don and Gail to run the kids around and care for them (and her) during her recovery from gastric bypass surgery while letting them believe she was having treatment for an advanced stage of ovarian cancer, what a maniac.

Erin says she was told she'd need a specific medicine and to be sent to Melbourne in an ambulance.

"I felt really anxious and stressed and confused, I felt really overwhelmed," she says.
Oh Erin, you poor dear! Oh how awful for you! What a terrible ordeal! Words can't express how I feel for (sorry, make that "about") you. :(

Yes, but how long does it take for the DC toxin to absorb into the blood stream?

It would be a shame if the prosecution didn't get this information from the doctors and other expert witnesses when they had a chance while they were in the witness box.

Also if, for argument purposes, that Erin did have a portion of the BW with DC's, and a significant amount of the toxin absorbed into her blood stream before she vomited, then surely there would be signs of liver damage?

Didn’t Simon say she didn’t have many plates.

As she didn’t entertain, it’s possible she didn’t think about plates until it got closer. Just her kiddie plates on rotation. Not sure how close the closest dept store or a discount store such as Big W, etc is but it’s possible she doesn’t have an entertaining set or give it any thought until it was too late. I would plan on every level but I know that everyone has a different level of focus and some aren’t bothered by mis matched plates, etc.

I don't think she was too stingy as such, she simply knew she wasn't making one big log style of BW and she'd be making little individual portions for a reason.

Also this special 'gourmet meal' was as you say not some restaurant standard home cooking, she was using cheap materials and ready mades. She didn't even dress it up with matching crockery or such. I guess she wasn't worried about their feedback or reviews!
