Quite an interesting pay-walled article in The Australian. It covers her early life and family quite well.

It also says that she told people online that she has autism. I don't recall hearing that said before.

Every killer comes from somewhere – but Erin’s case goes against the tide

Veteran newsman John Ferguson has met a few murderers in his time, but none like Erin Patterson. Here the journalist who broke the story on the fatal mushroom lunch retraces her path from housewife to homicide

She actually is very charming in text. None of us met her in person which is another way she managed to sculpt her persona.

Even her “best friends” she only lived within 30 minutes drive of, yet never met them. I’m sure that was to disguise who she really is.

In our group we all shared videos of ourselves, she didn’t. On purpose.
Yes, I really don’t think she would have been able to do the “charming” face to face. She also loathed having her picture taken so video out of the question. Instead she created a persona behind the keyboard. Or many personas as you say. It really speaks volumes about who she was. These games and schemes and manipulation seemed to constitute her quality of life. I hope she doesn’t get to do any of this online stuff inside and has contact with only a small group of inmates. Like a spider pulling others into her web. A venomous creature.

Irony.s

EP lied about cancer. Lied about gastric surgery. Lied about bulemia. Lied about liposuction.

Had a dermatology appointment. Which she canceled.

But I fine some irony in her lie. Eating disorders are real, and often born of a need to control. More than just one's relationship with food/weight.

EP used food to maintain control over her relationships. So vindictive. And continued to do it. Really twisted and disordered.

I hope her new prison friends sit far away from her at meal time. She can't be trusted.

Have to wonder why she choseView attachment 607235 this particular avatar:
Her original profile picture was not a witch. She actually changed it in August 2019 to the witch. Her evilness online was apparent long before July 2023 and she knew it was a fitting avatar.

Actually I think she's very simple and one dimensional. Petty.

She's not complex. She creates complexity. Drama maker.

Everyone is a pawn in her chess set.

I agree - very simple and petty. I don't understand all this talk of her being intelligent either.

It was murder (and attempted murder) in the sneakiest, most underhanded way possible: she laced her victims' food with deadly poisons. Should the judge be inclined to give her a lenient sentence or the possibility of being paroled, I hope he will first ask himself:

If she does get out of prison, what's to prevent her from doing this again?
Yeah, and poisoners are the type to claim that they didn't actually kill their victims- they willingly ate the food/drink. It was the food/drink that killed them. It's the most sneaky and underhanded way to kill a person, and it can be a slow, painful death. They enjoy watching them die.

@JBowie the crazy thing about that post - about how she had a cleaner come in behind Simon's back - I remember when she told our group that at the time. I remember that was one of the first things that alerted me to something not being quite right with her. I found it very strange that on one hand she was claiming he was coercive, but on the other, she must have had at least enough dominion over finances and the physical space of the house in order to hide something like that from her husband.

Of course, when you put the timeline together, she didn't even live with Simon at that time. That was yet another falsehood she told everyone to shape her narrative.
And it's so bizarre. Why would you consider sneaking in a cleaning lady under your husband's nose a win???

Quite upsetting to imagine really. These were by all accounts lovely salt of the earth people and yet she decided to end their lives in the most underhanded, evil way. However that requires empathy, something I don't think she possesses

Another article on the material that was suppressed during the trial. Among other things, this one describes how angry and emotional SP was during the pre-trail and how he was essentially forced to change his behaviour and think deeply before answering questions when on the stand.

I'm glad that this has been exposed because I could not reconcile his reported behaviour with what had happened to him and with the fact that EP had been charged with attempting to murder him.

The judge was aware of all of this highly damning suppressed stuff as he sat through her trial.

(pay-walled for some)

The whole truth and nothing but the truth. Or was it?

Previously suppressed evidence from investigations into Erin Patterson’s mushroom murders has now been released, prompting questions over whether the jury really heard the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

I can't blame him for being angry that her charges for attempted murder of him were dropped. He finally realized the truth about her being a poisoner and he didn't receive justice. At least she got convicted for the murders and attempted murder of his family.

EP lives for "getting one over on people". She thrives on it. That was my experience with her. I picked it right from the start that she was someone to be wary of. Couldn't quite put my finger on it, but there was definitely something off.
Like a bucket of prawns in the sun, as we say here in Australia. 🦐

She told me she has Autism, but I don't believe that is true. I think they would have used it at trial if so. Maybe we will hear that in the sentencing if it is true IMO

Which is really frustrating as someone with ADHD! People like Erin who blame their neurodivergence for their own terrible behaviour are awful

I didn't meet her until about that time, and her profile picture was a witch.
Did you know Erin prior to then?

Can you imagine the other things she has done to Simon and probably his friends? Isolating him? I know for years she has been poisoning peoples minds and manipulating them about people she met online, can you imagine how bad it is for those close to him?
IMO

Erin Patterson: Moment mushroom cook’s husband suspected deadly lunch plot

“When Simon Patterson learnt each of his parents and aunt and uncle were ill following a lunch at his wife’s home, he sprung into action.
Don Patterson, his father, called him about 8.45am on July 30, 2023, to say they had been experiencing vomiting and diarrhoea since about midnight and were waiting for an ambulance.

Don also told him Heather and Ian Wilkinson were sick too.

“I wasn’t really sure what to do,” he told Patterson’s trial in May.

“I tried both their mobile phones, but I didn’t get an answer.”

Simon jumped in the car and drove around to his aunt and uncle’s house to check in, finding them “sick, grey and stooped”.

Despite the pair’s reluctance, he convinced them they too needed to go to a hospital and took them himself after being warned an ambulance could be an hour away.”

Thank goodness Simon had the foresight to go and check on his Aunt and Uncle!!!!

You can't get into an Air traffic controller course and pass it, unless you are in the top few percent academically.
She’s obviously intelligent. IMO

Ian may not have survived otherwise.
