'She was playing it down', son says of mother's illness

Erin's son says his mother was "a bit quieter" than usual that morning which he thinks was because she was sick.

He confirms the drive to his flying lesson was about an hour and ten minutes and he thinks they left home around midday.

Erin Patterson took son on hours-long drive despite feeling sick, murder trial hears — as it happened

So, the media must have it wrong (a few articles state on the way back), the BP stop at Caldermeade was on the way there. And the Koo Wee Rup donut/coffee stop must have been on the way back home.

I can’t help but wonder how the jury members are going post trial. What a horrendous trial to be a juror for. Hope they are all going well. I’m sure like us, they were shocked at the evidence that was withheld from them.

On Monday, Patterson will be transported from Dame Phyllis Frost Centre to face a pre-sentence hearing in Melbourne's Supreme Court.

There she will be forced to hear about the devastation she inflicted on loved ones of her victims as they present their victim impact statements to the court.

It's understood that Simon Patterson will not attend Monday's hearing in person.

Loved ones of Erin Patterson's victims are set to confront the evil mushroom lunch killer during explosive hearing... with one major exception - as classmates reveal what she was like as a teenager

The loved ones of those killed by Erin Patterson's deadly lunch will confront the triple murderer in court, however her estranged husband Simon is expected to be absent.

Patterson, 50, in July was found guilty of killing her estranged husband's parents Don and Gail Patterson, and Gail's sister Heather Wilkinson following a months-long trial.

Gosh, they've lifted that straight from the HS.

While there’s a lull in reporting I think we need more info to chew on - can’t wait for the sentencing coverage and in particular the victim impact statements. I want to know how the victims feel :( especially Simon.
I read a news rumour. probably rumour more than what we might call a report, that Simon might be absent from the impact statements pre sentencing hearing. Wouldn’t surprise me. I think someone else can present on his behalf - not sure? But if not there he might rob the murderer of seeing what she wanted to see.

That she felt sick enough on the 31st to ask Simon to take her to the hospital but then feels well enough to leave the hospital AMA so that she can return home to feed the animals and pack her daughter’s dance bag after being told she was at risk for Amanitoxic poisoning and liver failure not 10 minutes later.

And that she was more worried or stressed about frightening her kids by getting them tested for Amanitoxic poisoning than she was about the actual possibility that they could have ingested poisonous death cap mushrooms.
She probably wanted S to take her to the hospital so she could suss out what he knew or didn’t know at the time about the illnesses.

It is often mentioned here that Simon's and Erin's children lost their grandparents Don and Gail. But of course Don and Gail had other grandchildren too. And Heather and Ian also had grandchildren, who have lost their grandma. That's a lot of grieving grandchildren, plus adult children of course. All trying to help each other cope no doubt. What an awful day when evil EP entered their family.

I would leave my bag in the car with my kids, and take my keys and phone to pay.
And I think the servo stop was on the way to Tyabb before the lesson was cancelled.
She tends to wear the bag over her shoulder getting in and out of car. Lots of footage shows this. I don’t think she was putting on or taking off cross body bag in car. Just usually left it on all the time.

It's going to be a very stressful day for Simon, Ian and their loved ones...

Oh, she definitely had one of those. And I'm betting my name was in it, at some stage 🤣
I thought she might need a tome for the list of enemies - maybe a trolley. Unless it’s in the old microfiche!

I wasn't the person who said this but past convictions can be raised to show a pattern of criminal conduct. IMO

From my previous post……

One would hope the bloody gastric bypass doesn't get brought up as a mitigating factor during sentencing!

I might be imagining things here. I think she put something in the bin in the toilet and then when she came out noticed that someone else had gone in. I think she then pretended to be buying a sandwich but was really waiting to see if the person had found what she dropped in the bin and had come out looking for the owner and she could say it was hers. It seems she put back the first sandwich she had chosen and when a different woman comes out of the toilet she seems to duck down.
Alternatively, if she's right about having bad gastro then how disgusting that she puts soiled tissues in the bin in the toilet without washing her hands and then handling the food.

I've always thought if I wanted to throw something away, the women's sanitary items bin would be a great place! I think that waste gets incinerated as it's biohazard. Could be wrong.

I don’t disagree that she was dumping something in the bin at the service station toilet area.

But - is there a bin in the corridor to the toilets as well as in the toilets as well? If not, was there enough time to walk down the corridor, open the door to the toilet and dump something into the bin near the sink area? And if she made it that far, why not take a bit of extra time to go into a cubicle, close the door and use the sanitary disposal area?

IMO she’d already disposed of items at the dump after the lunch and during that 11 min when her son was at Subway the evening after the lunch, so what/why did she throw away so much farther away from home?

Maybe there was a bin just inside the door is all I can think.

Depending on the type of issues in the area, some places would have 'sharps' bins and bio-hazard bins. They are usually inside a cubicle though?

Simon's lost at least half of his bowel!

I think Simon and his relatives are about to get under kick in the guts so to speak if they try to get what they deserve as victims of crimes because Evil Erin's lawyers have first grab on getting the money from the sale of her house.
So if I read the article below correctly, no matter how much they demonstrate to the judge next week how badly Evil Erin's crimes have affected them, there probably won't be much money left after the lawyers have taken their huge whack out of the home's sale.
That to me is a disgraceful situation.

Yep, very interesting given past copyright battles between News Corp and DM.
Gosh, they've lifted that straight from the HS.
Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. and the owner of the Daily Mail have held talks about a potential joint takeover of the Telegraph. That will be interesting..
