There are more victims of crime resulting from Erin Patterson than just Simon and his family. But they won’t get any payments which might help with counselling or support. You’re right; they are getting lost in the system.

This seems to be the result of “indirect” victims either getting lost in the system or lacking awareness on where to get help.

Do you have any proof that any of "Erin's friends" are on here currently? They would have the right to be here as much as anyone (including her supporters), but it's still a very inflammatory accusation to make. So I hope there is more than just personal speculation to be saying this.

It would be better yet to just keep the accusations, even if true, out of the discussion, since it's best to be engaging with people's ideas not with their person. Otherwise this forum may become just as toxic as those fb groups where Erin participated are said to have been.

🐮🐮🐮
Yes I do have proof that one person on here is Erin’s friend and they’ve got a right to engage on here if they like, but I won’t be engaging with them which is my right.

I’ve been here sharing information and they’re here to attack. It’s very transparent.

Peace ✌️

Very sorry that you had to endure such toxic behavior and very glad that you are here. I don't post much because of my MS, but I find your posts interesting and very informative. I like your take on things.
Thank you - 🙏 I hope to see you around more when your MS is playing nice for you :(

But then we're back to the accidental add theory, and you still have to content with- if she and her children ate the accidentally added DC Beef Wellingtons (poisoned), why did none of them get sick and die??? Erin's supposed diarhhea was clearly self-induced by pigging out on cake, coffee, sandwiches with chili, hotdogs- anything to upset your stomach. And why hesitate to pull your children out of school and get them tested (unless you know the truth and it wasn't necessary to test them)?
Also, the noticeably different colored plate that just happened to be Erin's seals it for me. I'm not buying that she only had 4 matching plates. She was a wealthy woman and a set of more than 4 white ones isn't expensive, I've seen them in Dollar Stores. And what plates did she use when she had them for lunch a month prior???

I reckon she spared the shepherds pie from death caps that time at the last minute, so she definitely would have had the plates then IMO
Purchased for the occasion, IMO. Wish we could look at her bank statements!

I'll bet that lunch made it easier to lure Don & Gail into coming back for the fatal one.

You can buy a modern 32 piece dinner set for $20 AUD which is $13USD for our American friends - probably even cheaper on Amazon for next day delivery.

I just think that poisoning is the ultimate passive-aggressive crime. The gracious hostess generously serving people their death. She also clearly identified as a victim, wanting her guests to feel sorry for her with her cancer diagnosis.

I think many murderers are aggressive, but this is something very different.

Really interesting 30 min “All in the Mind” podcast just released (Sept 7) about revenge and how it can be almost addictive. How revenge can have such a dopamine high and what is going on in our brains. There’s the issue about what stops us from seeking revenge when we know it’s wrong, and why some people might never stop seeking revenge.

Exactly.

It's that blind spot in logic so many criminals share.

She knew what she knew but she didn't even think of what she didn't know.

She didn't know the guests would compare notes. Didn't know they'd go to the hospital. Didn't think anybody would suspect Death Cap mushrooms. (Would they have, if she had instead laced brownies? By using a recipe with mushrooms, she put mushroom poisoning immediately on the radar.)

I think she timed it out. They'd die. If autopsies were conducted, no toxin would appear. She was so used to controlling everything around her that I think she expected it to play out exactly as she planned it.

But it didn't go that way at all, and from then on, it was deflection, gaslighting, misdirection, fabrication --

Not unlike her testimony.

Had she murdered them by poison one at a time, months apart, she may have gotten away with it. By poisoning 4 people in one go, the spotlight was immediately on her and she lost the plot, having to make up lies on the run, imo.

It is fascinating to watch the Aug 5 police interview. “Well these two people who ate at your place are dead and Don has had a liver transplant”. No concern or remorse on part of murderer - “oh well, I’ve never been in this situation before” and “I did help the health dept on that side of things…” Never asked about Ian or stopped to mention about the deaths of Gail and Heather or Don’s situation. And at this stage, the police knew they were interviewing the person who denied owning a dehydrator who had actually been caught on camera dumping one. Simon, the medicos and the police did a great job of working together.

I can't consider the idea of revenge without recalling the brilliant book by Alexander Dumas titled The Count of Monte Cristo.

I WOULD say it’s staggering that EP has demonstrated zero remorse for robbing three amazing people from their twilight years and consigning a fourth to a life of much-reduced health. But considering it for just a second, I believe she is so far gone in the revenge narrative she’s marinated in for ages that she believes she’s done nothing wrong.

Thanks so much for this - off to listen. Sounds interesting.

Sydney Morning Herald this afternoon .... (paraphrased)

- If Erin is sentenced to LWOP tomorrow, she will be only the second Australian woman ever to receive this prison term

- If Erin is sentenced to more than 32 years in prison, she will serve the longest sentence by any woman in Victoria

I probably also should have mentioned this podcast addresses the place of forgiveness and its effect on the brain. Deciding, I can move forward and not let this harm define me in the future, is also beneficial. Forgiveness doesn’t necessarily mean one absolves a person of harmful acts. The podcast refers to “decisional forgiveness” and explains that this is when one decides to move on from the need to seek revenge and says I’m not going to let this harm that has been inflicted on me define who I am going forward. The podcast actually refers to the example of Ian Patterson, who said I do want justice, but I will not let this heinous act define me as victim going forward.

Even if the motive was revenge, her perception of harm is insane. They didn’t do anything to her. IMO

IMO, to her way of thinking they failed to provide her the necessary quantities narcissistic supply -- a never-ending requirement that usually leaves the supplier drained, if not insane.

I am going to have a busy morning, I also want to watch a livestream of a Celebration of Life from o/s, starting at 9am. Plus isn't it also the funeral of the other policeman killed at Porepunkah?
