Australia Australia - Pheobe Bishop, 17, failed to board a flight from Queensland, Bundaberg, 15 May 2025 *Arrests* #3

Wow this is finally confirmed. But her mother said her phone had been turned off at the airport. How would they get further information from it? Unless TB and JW were dumb enough to turn it back on?
Who knows how it came about at this point? My dog once ran off with my phone and turned it off, so maybe the opposite happened. Maybe the housemates tried to turn it on in offline mode to retrieve information from the phone, but it did a quick ping off the towers. The answer could be endless, really.

I've spent a lot of time doing long distance moutianbike rides through the forests here, and even GPS devices can struggle when you have thick tree foliage, and mobile phones are basically useless in many areas, even though they show coverage on the network maps. You could have good phone reception all the way on the bitumen roads until you actually hit bushland, then it's very on and off with a weak signal from my experience.

Something led LE to the first location really fast, so someone gave intel or they were tracked somehow. The problem with phone tracking is that the housemates may have made multiple stops along the way, they could have searched for different locations to leave PB, or they could have stopped for toilet breaks, refueling or something to eat. There may be multiple sites of interest for all we know.

So, employing resources to all those locations at once wouldn't be easy; they most likely picked the most probably locations.

MOO.

doesn’t seem to be much new offical news or updates so hope this is comment is allowed/ okay timing.

I am absolutely shocked and appalled at the state of TB’s and JW’s living conditions, especially after reading how relatively brief their stay has been at the rental in Gin Gin.

I was wondering if anyone had specific or even vague information on how this might be dealt with from a legal/ landlord standpoint? I highly doubt they would have any money left for damage fines or professional cleaning. I feel sorry for the landlord, and I never thought I’d be saying something like that in today’s housing crisis. But that property condition truly is awful, won’t be cheap to clean.

Who cops the mess if tenants/ person at fault get’s locked up?

Google says there are Ubers.... not sure how common or costly... locals?
There are no Ubers or taxis in Gin Gin. There is an errand lady who can take people to Bundy but it depends on her availability.

I don't know much about bus transport, however, but I remember some adults used to ride the school bus to Bundy a few years ago. I'm not sure if that is still a thing. The company name was Duffy's, but the website doesn't load anymore.

Sadly, the landlord/lady usually cops it, and hopefully they have insurance for the purpose. Unfortunately, the laws seem very geared towards the "poor tenant" when a lot of the landlords/ladies are often just mum and dad investors, trying to get ahead for their retirement, and not filthy rich investors aiming to buy their second yacht.

Was it that exact point? Seems quite close to a couple of structures that look to be homes to me.
Yes. Here is the original map from the commenter. I don't think I am allowed to post the comment though, as it is social media.

screaming, hysterical, grabbing steering wheel, a hard angry punch to her head,
im wondering if sex and jealousy plus drug use could be motive?
I'm thinking more along the lines that PB may have told them on the drive that she wasn't coming back, maybe hadn't paid them rent (why would anyone pay to live in that dump) and maybe knew too many secrets about them. Maybe she threatened to tell authorities about the dogs and weapons. Moo

I doubt the drug claims. Both were overweight - not exactly a sign of meth addiction. It's all rumour. And it has no place in an investigation, IMO.
I agree. We can have theories, MOO. But rumours are of no use to sleuthers. We need linked facts.
Do you know the statistics of how many people are in DV relationships that report it to police compared to the ones who don’t ? Statistics say around 60%

It has been stated by TB’s brother that she was in fact being beaten by JW. It’s pretty obvious to me that there relationship was violent.

For anyone who doesn’t understand the dynamics that can come into play when you bring DV/ drugs into a relationship, I’ll give you a quick run down from experience.
1. It’s not as easy as “she had the opportunity to leave” this can be either very unsafe given the lack of police care. It’s highly likely will either not show up, like seen in this case. Or they will downplay it, or put an AVO in place which is literally not stopping anything when you are dealing with an unhinged psychopath.
2. If you bring drugs into the mix, there is an added layer of addiction which is a disease and you will do absolutely anything to get your fix. Example- staying with someone who is violent because they supply you your drugs and you feel stuck because your addiction comes before everything including your safety.
3. Financial control. Sometimes people can’t leave because where will they go? Their partner has control of every aspect of their lives.
4. DV usually doesn’t just start with instantly getting hit. It’s usually a build up, a slow break down of your character and worth. Stripping the person who you once were to where you now accept things that happen to you with a hope that things may change.

Personally I think TB is a horrible person, she should have told the police the truth in the first interview. But I do however see a scenario in which at the time she felt like she had to go along with what was happening. I am being bias again with the thought that a woman wouldn’t kill another woman, which is probably naive of me, but my view on men has been very tainted by as I stated, experience in this world.
Everyone has personal experience. However if you had linked an article showing the statistics, that would be more credible. We deal with linked factual data. I think that is what Detechtive is saying. Or say moo.

Yes, very carefully worded.
In regards to Pheobe being last seen alive, it's specifically stated to be that morning, prior to the Airport / BMX track.
As I said above, referencing the BMX track, and earlier saying that 3 persons were in the car and didn't exit the vehicle leads me to believe they have CCTV in that area (and could not confirm if all parties were alive). Remember it's difficult to see inside a car though closed windows, especially if the camera is some distance away.

The last seen alive reference could be anywhere from the Gin GIn house along the way to Airport Drive, but confirming that the third person was actually Pheobe and confirming that she was alive - this tells me they were outside of the car. They may for instance have stopped at the IGA in Gin Gin (JW stated that he bought energy drinks there around 8am). Note that's not confirmed... that was from his Daily Mail interview.
Police have to be very guarded in what they say. The same as WS rules. If police get something wrong, it could mean some vital evidence may not be allowable in the trial, or at worse, the case gets thrown out. The Greg Lynn trial had some of the interview disallowed in his trial due to police error.

A random nine news video speculated that the life 360 app was used to find Pheobe

The police have definitely not stated that. I have gone through each police statement and press release video.
  • Phoebe's phone had been reportedly switched off after the call to the boyfriend.
  • Phoebe's phone was never recovered by police.
Do you really think that if this app showed police where to find Phoebe's remains, they would have wasted 3 weeks searching various unrelated areas of bushland?

Always be skeptical of news reports. They are frequently wrong.

Do you have a link for that?

I saw a similar comment, and if what you're describing is the same comment, the location was here. The commenter mentioned a man acting suspiciously, with the boot of his car open.
Thanks for that - I recalled seeing but not the specifics.

Yes, I believe that is the same comment.

Does anyone local know the commonly taken short cuts from Gin Gin to the south side of the city? Could Cedars Road been used to connect to Childers Rd from the Bundabeg Gin Gin Rd to avoid morning traffic?

Thanks for the pictures.

OMG
This area is massive,
and I mean REALLY massive

I'm not sure the poor girl would have ever been found without a tip.

It really seems to be a "Good Night and Never See You Again" terrain.

JMO
The park itself isn't that big, really. All bushland surrounding the park would be private land.

This map shows basic trails in the park, but may have changed since the trails were plotted.

The grey trail I marked is 9.1k km from start to finish.

Police said in the last presser, that she was not buried.
You can get a lot of analysis from bones, and even insects can tell a story. If someone is choked to death, it usually fractures the hyoid bone; if they were shot in the head or suffered blunt force trauma, it would leave evidence of the occurrence. It depends on what is left.

Bond will go to landlords, and Landlords would have to have landlord insurance as it’s a requirement for any lease that is done via an agent. Unfortunately though the clean up everything will be the responsibility of the owners.

Somewhere last night I did see video footage of the owners at the property shocked at the state it was in.

Also said they rent was always paid on time and until this case they had no idea the state of the house til they saw the house in the media.
