This case is soooooooo frustrating!
Ok - I was thinking today about how we've come by much of what we know - that I recall.
We know that the family "meeting" the night before Bob went missing became heated. That information came from the daughters.
We know that the daughters wanted their mother's trust documents. That information also came from the daughters - along with the tidbit that Bob had been stalling in giving them that information for quite some time.
Aug 11, 2009 (no link): There was a family meeting on Sunday, it was heated at times, there were NO threats and we all left on good terms.
Oct 8, 2009 (OC Register article): His daughter, Roberta, said her father lost his temper. She said he had failed to provide copies of their mother's will, which he was obligated to do because of the financial mechanisms set up by the estate. "It wasn't a heated meeting," she said in a phone interview. "Dad got heated. He's very selfish, very conditional. The day before he went missing in the afternoon, he was going to provide us copies of the will, and we went over to get the copies. He didn't have them."
Feb 2, 2010 (LA Times Article): The four argued about money, police say. According to Fontelle, Bob said his daughters became upset when he told them he planned to include his new wife in the estate. According to court filings, his daughters estimated Bob had property and savings worth at least $1 million.
My comment: Fact: Bob spoke to Fontelle that evening. Speculation: Bob told Fontelle there WERE threats made on Sunday after he told daughters he planned to include Fontelle in the estate. Fontelle gave this information to the PPD when interviewed. The Aug 11 post by the one daughter was made to make it seem like things ended on a positive note before they left, because they were confronted by PPD with information about what happened when they went over. The other daughter then tried to put the blame on Bob in the Oct interview, saying that HE got heated. IMO
We know that there was little love lost between father and daughters since their mother had passed. That information came from the daughters.
We know that Bob had a seemingly questionable relationship with the barber woman - which they had investigated. That information came from the daughters.
Oct 8, 2009 (OC Register article): The three daughters told police initially they suspected Bob Harrod's barber a woman who attended their mother's funeral in 2008 of some connection with the disappearance. Police have cleared the barber and her husband of any connection with the case.
My comment: IMO, they were trying to throw suspicion on the barber woman, that she was responsible for what happened to Bob. They went after her full-force. It didnt work.
See what I mean? Why would Bob's killers put out all of this negative info if they had something to hide? Wouldn't they put a more lovey-dovey spin on it if they killed their father?
That's what just doesn't sit right with me. There are other things that don't make sense to me - that have nothing to do with the daughters. But I won't go into them now.
