i dunno, whoever took him right out of the house , probably in broad daylight, that is pretty bold

Could be, could be.

If Bob was still able to walk when he left the house, though, it wasn't that bold an act. Express concern for him or propose a quick errand, whatever to get him out of the house, then take a quick look around to see if there was anyone around to witness him getting into a vehicle.

Or back a vehicle right up against the garage door and only someone directly in front of the garage would see whatever was being loaded into the trunk or trunk-like space.

it's just so overwhelming & mind boggling & downright sad

someone was really conniving

yeah you found it...I think vehicles going to unload go in here- head north on Valencia and in
33.932691, -117.841775

That is correct and, FWIW, there is minimal traffic on Valencia and the connector road compared to most of So. Cal. The trip could be made with time to spare.

I wonder if they keep an eye out for vehicles with a logo, or vehicles using the site for commercial waste, but pretending to be civilians? There are extra charges in Europe for business users, and you would be issued with a special pass.

wondering if anyone already had an awareness of that location & its operation, based on previous use? kwm? or at the least of that area and its rather immediate surroundings

I just read an article from San Bernardino California about a mass grave being found. I think a lot of WSers would be interested in it, but I have no clue where to post it... help , pretty please

well hmm Zwie, unless the vehicles have signage indicating business, I don't suppose they ask for business licenses- so you know, like landscapers, handymen and general contractors could conceivably use their 'private' vehicles

Lots to Learn, stick it under 'Up to the Minute', I reckon

so Travelbug- what you know about the roads, dirt or paved, working out from the periphery of the landfill? Looking on a map, any of those grab your attention?

I was just thinking about a few times I've been stopped and cross questioned about if I was a commercial user or not, because someone had noticed how frequently I was using the landfill. But then, with the state of the car, and my driving, - not to mention the occupants, I probably was kind of noticeable.

It's Victorville. I wonder if they think this is gang related, a single predator or an historical grave site?

No chance Bob is there, I'm sure.

ish.

ETA: There is already a thread for it, with several posts.

Well, as we hicks say, things is different in California.

Out here in the boonies, the charge is based on weight and it doesn't matter if it is private or commercial.

For businesses that generate a fair amount of trash, it's probably cheaper to rent a dumpster because those are charged a set fee for each emptying. It's more convenient and if your trash is compact but heavy, it's definitely cheaper.

Long shot but I wonder if it is related to the LeBaron murders. There's a bunch of suspected victims that have never been found and some of them were in California.

I googled and there are remains turning up in the desert there all over this Fall; Phelan, Apple Valley, Victorville. So saddening. Imagine looking out at landscape like that and seeing it as only a dumping grounds for a body.

I'm happy to see that people still care about Bob. I reread the script on the interviews and I noticed that it said that Bob owns several properties. It wasn't in the past tense. What about those properties, would anyone close to Bob know where they are and have access to them? I can't see how anything would be done at a public place during the daytime. Also, did Fontelle talk to Bob Monday morning, since she would talk to him every morning and evening. No one has said that she did, including Fontelle herself, unless I missed it. Then today on the same tv station that aired Disappeared, they had a different show about a known double murder. The one victims's mother was shown with a person called a "spiritual healer" that had a gift that when he touched her hands, he told her things about the murderer, when he would be captured, etc. Although this information was given to the detectives, which later proved true, this mother was so comforted by this man, that she didn't worry as much after. Just some new ideas to try and what about the Dr. Phil Show? If any of these things have been suggested before, please forgive, as I didn't want to read through all previous comments.

Welcome Elb!
To try and answer just a coup,e of questions; yes, people close to Ob did know where his other properties were and had access to them, because at least some were lived in by family members, including a grandson just around the block.

All we know about the calls Monday is that police said the last call they are of was at 10am. They didn't say who made it. A daughter, PB, states on Bob's missing person entry on Namus that she called him 11.30-12noon. Later, it was said the call was nearer 11.45 am.

Anyone who lives in the area and does any work around their house would be familiar with the landfill. Unless you pay the rather high cost to have a private company haul away your items it is your only option. The fees are quite reasonable for Calif. (starting at $20 for a standard vehicle). Since Jeff & Julie had lived in the area in the past and Bob's grandson lived near him it seems likely they have used it at some time.

Sadly, it will probably turn out to be migrant farm workers. That area has become a dumping ground for drug smugglers who work their laborers until they are no longer useful (due to illness or death).
