They’re like best friends, not just brother and sister.” Martell said that since the disappearance, the children’s mother has left to be with her family in another part of the province and has blocked him on social media. “I’m feeling terrible, just like the last few days,” he said. “It’s just me on my own with my family out here …. I don’t know why she left.” Martell said Lily and Jack would not have made it far in the woods on their own. “They would have found them in the woods by now,” he said. “So I’m urging the public to come forward if they have anything to say or to offer .… I don’t think they’d make it far. As soon as they get their clothes or boots wet, they immediately want to take them off and go back inside the house.”
Groan...that didn't take long. I guess I'll sit on my hands for now but first I'll say that there's nothing that would make me move from my home if my children were missing, IF I thought they were voluntarily missing/lost/abducted. If I left, it would be to be at the police station or out searching. Yep. This reminds me of Jacob Wetterling's parents.. they didn't even paint their house for decades let alone move in the hopes Jacob would be able to recognize it.
She has a 16 month old child to look after, and she's probably not sleeping due to worry. She most likely needs someone to look after her at this time.
And she's split up with him...there's that too!

Yes, a trailer. I'm surprised that he started driving around when he noticed them missing. They were on foot, and young children don't stick to roads. How long was it between hearing them and looking for them? Were the parents sleeping in?

She might blame him. From everything I've read, mom didn't notice they were missing, and she didn't go out to look for the children. The youngest is 16 months old - not that young that she needs to catch up on sleep from looking after an infant through the night.
Exactly...if he was a new boyfriend, the stress of your children missing would shatter a new r'ship quickly. 3 years and a baby together and suddenly it's over? Right in the middle of the biggest crisis of their lives they aren't clinging on to each other for dear life?
