Imagine the biggest joke: Canada agrees and "joins as the 51st state." It will be the biggest swing state ever. I know Canada is not that united either, but can, for a good cause. Then comes our electoral vote and all of these dudes lose their positions just like that! No question of "who takes Florida or Texas?" Hey, it could nominate a decent Canadian as US president! (Just dreaming).

With all due respect, there is nothing ‘ jokey’ about this situation.

Canada and the US are now at war. Trade war but that can change in an instant.

With China prepared to also go to war with the US, it’s a very serious matter.

Not a joke on any level.

You can also search by text. Try the 'vo' starting word. The less yucky words don't come up with anything.

Sauvé: I served alongside Americans. Now I feel utterly betrayed by them. I feel betrayed. I served alongside Americans, in their homeland and abroad. We took in their planes and passengers on 9/11. We share sports teams. We have an integrated economy. We maintain the longest unprotected border in the world — because we are friends. Yet when the White House threatens us, the American people remain conspicuously silent
I 100% understand Sauvé's sentiments and feelings.

I'm sorry for the feeling of betrayal that we are both currently experiencing by an ally alongside whom we lost 158 of our own. We will remember them.

Elbows up.

Vive le Canada!

I just really hate this .I have some great American friends that are having a hard time with this. We know most Americans aren't at fault for what your president does and don't agree with it. But it's starting to effect sports like the NHL. You have sports announcers like pat macafee that have said some things in respect of the booing of the anthems. After all of this drama is over and done with what will our relationship be like .I can't see it going back to how our country's were, the trust is going to be gone and there's going to be hurt feelings all over sounds like a damn divorce jmoo

We as Canadians feel the same way about Point Roberts. how do we as Canadians help support Point Roberts yes it's a United States town but is only accessible threw Canada. We know they are feeling the pinch but they very much support Canada you see it in the bumper stickers and when you talk to the residents. This is just a mess jmoo
Has DJT ever been to Canada? Maybe to meet w/ Trudeau but has he traveled around anywhere?

Can you imagine being some poor customs agent and the amount you are supposed to charge ... it is like Wheel of Fortune? As you are assessing a package they are changing the tariff level? People from the private sector may be able to act upon new ideas (or whims?) but there are reasons why government is not supposed to be changing in the blink of an eye. IMO.

Tbh I don't think he's ever been here. When they opened the trump hotel in Vancouver he didn't come but I believe don Jr did. The Russians had a martini bar in that hotel. It's no longer a trump hotel it's been rebranded to something else and the Russian club closed down

The tariffs and resulting trade wars will alienate the US from the whole world. It may result in new and realigned coalitions against the US, such as China, Canada and Europe aligned together. The US could face military collapse under these circumstances, especially with the loss of Canadian cooperation at its northern border. JMO
