I am very Southern,,, Antarctica southern, from Sydney, AU, and I am fascinated by the folks in my suburb , an inner east south harbour one, chokablok with conservatives , who have taken to being offended by the USA to heights never imagined... to even speak about Canada, a brotherly commonwealth country of ours, in the manner of aUnfortunately, many Americans believe that Canada is 'taking advantage' of the USA.
I don't see how you have to say "many" Americans. EVERYTHING is now being converted to absolute $$$signs, so it is more specifically Americans who are being fed and believe the new Narrative.
"all these countries are ripping us off", is not the answer to everything, over the history of the US. But it is all we will hear from now on.
What are Canadians going to do about this?
Will they quit snow-birding to Florida?
Will they quit summering the whole coast of Maine? In Summer, every other licence plate is Canadian!
Are there really truly products that you cannot live without on a personal level?
It will be interesting....
Feel free to speak up Northern Friends!! Many MORE Americans really want to know what you are thinking.

People too ashamed to drive their Tesla out the driveway, .. no. they'll take the scooter instead. And to just unilaterally dismiss a Free Trade Agreement, just like that, and impose %25 tarriffs...no discussion.. OK then..Australia can get along ok with out US imported goods , we live in the geopolitical realm of the greatest markets in the world, billions of customers, China, India, East Asia, Malaysia, Indonesia, Phillipines, Africa, markets that rely on our wheat, and Iron Ore, Gold and the highest grade Coal... then there is the food we ship to Europe in their winter, ( our summer) ..meat, aluminium... ( it's our summer here now, that's why the cherries and grapes are so delicious , try an AU avocado, it knocks a Californian one right out of the arena)
We intend to buy all the potash Canada will sell us, we don't produce that AS YET< there is terrific mining exploration going on, in WA and some signs of huge deposits, but any excess we can sell to China, don't be giving me the commie guff, China is about as capitalist as it can get, and booming with it. China is a very lucrative and reasonable trade partner to Australia, and has been for many years,
Every now and then we have a rogue politician who shoots off at the mouth and puts China offside, but then we repair the damage and resettle the trade, because this is in China's interest and ours, China won't suffer much by it's export trade slowing down to the USA< it has the Belt and Road system up and running and that gives it entree to the ENTIRE of Europe as well as Asia.. without shipping costs, it all goes on rail containers, from Beijing to Barcelona and all points inbetween. It won't suffer very much by not importing stuff from the usa either, it has trade treaties all over the world. Working ones, that countries are comfortable with. Trump's blithering wont affect them at all , hardly.
I fear intensely for Americans, not just the trade stuff, that 's a real hardship , although AMerican ingenuity is always bubbling away there, the USA has been given no lead time to set up businesses to replace the imports, so things will be awkward.. the thing I fear the most, is the health stuff, the wierd and , to me, criminal dismissal of science in medicine that is prevailing currently in the usa, .. such an unnecessary hardship, and ultimately, a fatal one for those most vulnerable.....
