I agree. And you’ve really gotta just consent for optics, because they’re almost certainly able to get a warrant otherwise.

Agreed. LE, IMO, went into the home with a purpose. They were not just snooping around. IMO

We know the deadline for the ransom money (5pm local time), but do we know what time she'd then be released?

Even if I was a trusting person, and I am not by far, I wouldn't trust them even the slightest bit. To take millions with a chance of never being caught?? But those chances of being caught grow by releasing Nancy. I'm not feeling good about this at all.

I didn't like that they were reduced to begging, in public no less, and now paying a high ransom to MAYBE get their mother back? It would be more than a double slap in the face to pay and get nothing for it. And you KNOW they'd be laughing about it. The thought really frosts my butt.

It's going to be a nailbiter of a day for everyone. I really feel for the family. :(

I am a rather trusting person and yet, the future where Nancy is returned to the family alive and in a decent shape, I can’t imagine. I’d be very happy to be proven wrong.

Why would the FBI put false information in their criminal complaint filing?
I take that back - thank you for sharing this. I can now see the legal document refers to "On the morning of 1 February, a friend of N.G.'s contacted the victim's family and notified them that N.G. had not attended church that morning".

The filing also confirms NG's medication was in the home. So the chances of life seem slim.

I'd be surprised if she was alive after the day she was taken.
In those very first reports it was said that homicide teams were on scene at NG’s house. Some of the statements made by the sheriff during the first presser made it sound like it was a grim scene. IMO, I think she could’ve been dead before she even left the house.

This excerpt is quoting the first press conference:

‘Searchers were using drones and search dogs to look for her, Nanos said. Search and rescue teams were supported by volunteers and Border Patrol, and the homicide team was also involved, he said. It is not standard for the homicide team to get involved in such cases, Nanos said. The FBI has offered to help, Carrillo said.

“This one stood out because of what was described to us at the scene and what we located just looking at the scene,” Nanos said Sunday. He was not ruling out foul play.

On Monday morning, Nanos said search crews worked hard but have since been pulled back.

“We don’t see this as a search mission so much as it is a crime scene,” the sheriff said.

This is only my opinion.

I personally keep the ‘official timeline’ pinned to the top of my notes as I track the developments of any case I follow.

If there is an ‘official change’ I personally like to see the ‘official timeline’ revised (so I can update my notes)to reflect any changes made by LE. I have in other cases found myself ‘working off inaccurate timelines’ to my detriment ( more times than I will admit).. Absolutely I could be nitpicking :) I admit I have been guilty of it before.

Ticya thank you for your response and I agree that as you stated both can indeed be true.

I hope this clarifies the criticism in my post and that I acknowledge that the point you made is well taken.😊
thank you for responding and clarifying. I admit, I do not know the reason behind that communication from church friend being left out of the timeline. But I also don't think the feds would continue a lie in a federal filing by stating that communication happened if it did not.

I can only assume they have their reasons for not giving us more info on the specifics of that communication to family.

Honestly, a ransom note in America is really more of simething you may strugglecto even see in a bad murder mystery movie plot.

I had to look up javelinas. Would they not eat bodies that are dumped in the desert?

Also, I am thinking if NG was killed (accidentally or not) by family, would the ‘kidnapping’ be a means of getting a (decomposing) body back to the rest of the family for burial? So sorry that I am even using these words that may be read by the many people who loved NG.

A bitcoin account allegedly set up to accept funds in exchange for Savannah Guthrie's missing mother Nancy is still sitting empty Monday morning ... with time quickly winding down on an alleged deadline.

How would they know even?
If they have access to the address on the ransom note, then the wallet’s transactions are traceable by anybody on the blockchain’s “public ledger”.

Bitcoin transactions are publicly visible on the blockchain. This is the entire premise of bitcoin (but to reiterate, there is no personal information associated at this point). There are multiple websites that let you explore the blockchain and look at transactions. For example, Blockchain Explorer - Bitcoin Tracker & More | Blockchain.com

If we had the bitcoin address in the ransom note, we could confirm this ourselves.

No, 11:56AM, "family checks on Nancy". The contact to the family has been removed from the timeline; Sheriff originally told a press conference someone called the "children" at 11AM after NG failed to show up for church.

Couldn't they be one and the same though? I believe so because I have always thought that just because the Sheriff said the family was contacted at 11, he might not have meant on the dot.

That is why I never bought into the hour search by the family.

Family is told. The family looks for Nancy at 11:56 a.m. The family calls LE 7 minutes later.

Catalina Foothills Church (CFC) in Tucson holds Sunday services at 8:45 AM (Traditional) and 10:45 AM (Modern), with the building generally open from 8:30 AM to 12:30 PM.

Yes that is exactly the point of my post.

The misinformation seems to have come from the sheriff. JMO.

It is making me question whether the ''call from church" is similar misinformation and if that's why it has now been omitted.
Would the FBI include it in a criminal complaint (against the hoaxer) if it was false?
