I am curious on thoughts... how do they have video of the suspect entering the Bus terminal, but can not find anyone with at least a similar description getting on a bus? Makes no sense to me... I think they know what bus the suspect got on but just are not saying so the public doesn't go wild. I also feel like they have a good idea who the suspect is as well, but are not leaking the info to the public for many reasons. Thoughts??

I tend toward long winded posts sometimes— part of the entertainment of WS is to solve puzzles, & sometimes it takes a minute to express an idea. I hope people who hate that just scroll on (or smash the ignore button) rather than take offense. I don’t mind it at all when people explain their ideas and I’d welcome yours.

You’re welcome to dm me if you feel up for it. I’d be happy to discuss AI use cases in criminology.
I think this describes a lot of us here!

So, whenever I get going on some utterly silly, long-winded ramble, I appreciate those who politely roll their eyes in silence and scroll on by…

I do not understand this either. With all the cameras, they are not able to tell what bus he got on? They have to just be holding back info ....

I agree. I think they know what bus he got on, or at least narrowed it down. The station is not bustling but fairly low-key.

Yesterday They announced that Atlanta PD is involved. Iirc the announcement came 2-3 hrs before the bus terminal info.

ABC reporting - "The bus the suspect is believed to have boarded out of the city made six or seven stops, and investigators have followed leads in multiple states, the sources said."

Investigators appear to be homing in on the possible identity of the suspect, two people briefed on the investigation said, but are still working to verify the information and are not yet certain they know his identity.

[...]

At least two key pieces of evidence continued to evade investigators Saturday morning, including an electric bike the suspect rode and the gun used in the killing.

However, upon a second sweep of Central Park Friday evening, authorities uncovered a backpack, which awaits forensic lab testing in Queens, a law enforcement official told CNN.

[...]

Law enforcement officials have briefed border guards on both sides of the US border with Canada and Mexico to be on the lookout for the suspect, a law enforcement source briefed on the investigation told CNN.

The nose is way too long and imposing on the face, and the jawline is way too big to be a woman.
That nose looks kinda fake to me actually

I keep thinking about the fact he was in NYC for 10 days before this occurred. Seems so off to me. I can see arriving a few days before, but 10? Seems excessive and also hard to be away from everyday life that long without someone noticing or thinking it’s a bit odd.

Personally, I think he’s a student. He would’ve already had time away from class over Thanksgiving, then gave some excuse to extend his time away from class for a few more days. His family likely doesn’t live nearby, and probably doesn’t even know he hasn’t been on campus.
I think he was stalking his prey and planning. Where did the E Bike come from?

TBH he resembles an ex of mine. He also had very fine features (in an almost "pretty" way), pale skin, slim but in good shape. He was also fully Colombian, which is why I'm not weighing in on gender or ethnicity with this perp! The one thing I'd say is either by visiting or by receiving intel on NYC, he's done a lot of things that show familiarity with the city.
I also think he looks colombian

I am 100% certain he has killed before, probably many times, this was no amateur he was cool and calm as anything, this was just another job for him. He knew what he is doing
In the video he hangs around and checks that he definitely did the job. Doesn't just let off some shots and run. Looks pro to me. Cool as a cucumber.

I don't think a person who realized the connection would dump the backpack back in central park, near where the suspect was. Unless they were dumb enough to not think about their prints being on the bag.

Someone who did NOT realized the connection might have dropped it found it, looked though, dumped what they did not want.
I think if the backpack were in a visible location, someone would've taken it or rifled through it. If they didn't want it, they would just leave it there with no need to toss it elsewhere.

I think the backpack was not easily visible and NYPD found it where the perp left it.

I don't know why people question BT not having a coat. He was going only half a block and a coat is a pain to keep up with. And he lives in MN so NYC might feel warm to him.

Even if he ended up walking further for whatever reason, if he got cold, he could duck into any place along his route (he's in NYC for pete's sake so probably multiple businesses per block he could step into) to get warm and as a rich white guy, he's not likely to be questioned about it. Or he could easily afford to hop in a cab (probably on UHC's tab since it's a business trip). I really can't see him needing a coat unless he was going to be outside for an extended time. If he ended up going out immediately after the conference and he might want his coat, an admin could probably run get it from his room.

I still wonder if his business phone wasn't hacked and perhaps that's how the perp knew his movements.

All MOO.

There is close to 0% chance that if BT set up a suicide that he would have the guy use that particular gun. He would want something more efficient. He wouldn't want to be shot in the leg and wait for the guy to reload.
Thank you. You’d want it swift and as painless as possible. This is the least likely hypothesis, imo

Around 10 PM last night there was reporting that the investigators had a name and they were working to confirm. CNN seem excited about this imo. But I got the feeling that even though they had a name to work with we weren’t gonna hear it for a while.
I think they do have a good idea of the bus he got on. He may have tried to disguise himself somewhat once inside the terminal, but I think they know.

Although, if he wanted to make sure, why not a head shot when he gets in close. So perhaps he wasn't making sure he did the job, perhaps he hangs around and gets close to say something to BT, like "this is for so and so"

I'd be terrified if i recognized a shooter. I'd go to authorities but i certainly wouldn't talk to the media about it.

I'm so conflicted about this one! I got excited about the reporting of the name being known, and then the FBI immediately increased the reward to $50k which doesn't seem to indicate they've got their guy or an arrest is imminent.

Eh? Why would Mossad send an agent to assassinate a major business leader on the territory of Israel's most important ally?

This feels domestic to me.
Still catching up, but I agree completely with this.

The interests of the Mossad are strictly in what will protect Israel, not in American health care issues.

I’ve said from the outset of the Starbucks picture that to me the suspect looked Russian, but I’m quite willing to be incorrect.

IMO countries with socialized medicine are off the list, as our health insurance issues are not equivalent to their issues.

Unless it is a hired gun, but still I do not believe Mossad would bother in any way with killing an American C.E.O.

From what I understand of their methodology, they would not in any case do this when they know they’re on camera.

I wouldn't talk to the media because I know all of you would be tearing apart what I said! :)
