I’m surprised that none of the people who he spoke to came out to the press. As much as LE can ask you not to divulge details, some people want their 15 minutes.
It's been theorized on here that one of the reasons so few people have spoken to the press about the suspect, and why LE has gotten few if any credible leads, is because there is widespread sympathy for the shooter and his "cause" (assuming he was an ideologue). Case in point: earlier today in Manhattan's Washington Square Park there was an unofficial Shooter Lookalike Contest. Make of this what you will:

On Nov. 24, the shooter arrived in NYC, as caught on surveillance camera.

So where did shooter spend Thanksgiving Day? Did a family miss spending the day with their son, brother, uncle on Thanksgiving Day?

It’s only an American holiday…

I like the dual citizen theory better. They can sometimes have the best of both worlds, can effectively not show up on the radar in one of the countries if they haven't lived there. In fact, it could give an illusion of a charmed life, the international man of mystery effect, I can see it potentially reacting with a certain psychological makeup.

He could have entered on his US passport and left on the foreign one, taking advantage of the highly rudimentary exit check, which is done by TSA, not immigration.
Good point about very rudimentary exit checks. They care a lot more when you are entering the country not when you are leaving.

In terms of motive perhaps it helps to think about why it was BT out of all the possible UHC or other corporate or healthcare executives? What is unique about him? Whose life would be better if BT specifically was no longer alive?

United Healthcare IS the largest insurer in the world.
It is the ONLY insurer for AARP, and its constituents.
United Healthcare has been under tremendous legal scrutiny, including Brian Thompson, himself.

I think all this uniqueness is the perfect choice for such an act.

I think it could be a trick of the light or the angle or the quality of the photo.
I think he looks like so many other people. I was watching CNN last night and thought one of the reporters resembled what I see in the photos, lol.
Exactly. If I were shown only the two hostel pics, and asked whether the unsmiling one was the same person as the smiling one... I would not be able to say even that.

This is sickening and speaks to the celebrity killer meme I’ve written about before. Ugghh

one poster mentioned that he may have stashed another backpack in the Park and exchanged them before it was found.
If they find "nothing" in the backpack, I think he may have fooled us again.....
Jacket, no gun. Bloomberg article that will not let me link properly.

For being the CEO of such a large entity, he sure flew under the radar.

Posters explaining how health insurance works doesn't necessarily mean that they are defending the companies. Explanation where some may not understand is a good thing, IMO.

I believe that most people don't read their health insurance contracts just like they don't read their homeowner's insurance policies until after the fact. At least, I know that is what I am guilty of doing.

Because health insurance companies are made out to be the villains, I suspect if a procedure is covered (stated in the contract) and then denied through the appeal process and ends up in court, the insurance company will be heavily penalized.

Look at P, G & E utility company in CA that was polluting ground and water. They were sued, and the residents of Hinckley, CA, were paid a substantial amount of money. Juries would surely do the same (and probably have) done the same for health insurance lawsuits.

JMO.
Sick people don't often have the resources and wear withal to pursue a fighting a corporate entity.

I do this all the time when I travel. With triple citizenship (one being EU) I use the passport that gets me into the country fastest, and to avoid the long "foreigners line". So quick and no questions asked about why I'm visiting or where I live.

Thank you for sharing. That "contest" is reprehensible. It baffles me how proud some people are of their lack of empathy and humanity.

If this has been posted, sorry to duplicate. The gun has been identified as a WWII weapon.
Investigators believe the gunman used a rare, integrally suppressed pistol, possibly a Brügger & Thomet Station Six, a modern reproduction of the British Welrod—a silenced pistol designed for covert operations during World War II. It is used today as a veterinary weapon. Further, it may have been purchased in Connecticut. Kinda strange if he somehow took an Atlanta bus.
Could it be he was paid not by a foreign government or terroristic group but by an American?

I think he lives in NYC and did all that traveling to throw everyone off his game.
have considered this- but not sure a person pretending to be from elsewhere would go through the hostel stay- for 10 days- think he lived in NYC before at some time. a semester there or something.

Given that the weapon is used for veterinary purposes (I would assume for livestock), I wonder if the shooter is related to someone who works on a farm/ranch and was able to get his hands on it.

The precise timing suggests other(s) are in involved with the planning of execution of CEO. moo
That would not surprise me in the least.

I am not certain that they know he GOT on a bus...
I know I read one of the msm articles that stated, they saw him enter the bus station but did not see him exit.

Investigators believe the masked gunman ultimately left town after footage showed him walking into a Port Authority bus center near 178th Street and Broadway about an hour after the shooting — but no cameras show him exiting the station, Kenny said.

Does anyone have a clearer indication that he actually got on a bus??? tia.
Or if he did leave the terminal (on a bus or other) he could have donned a wig, sunglasses and a fake beard. Making it incredibly difficult to determine if he left via bus or other mode of transport….including simply walking out.

Did anyone actually see him sleep there?

Props for posting this. I just got back from my first NYC trip and ventured through Central Park briefly to see Strawberry Fields (entered Central Park West). Fascinating to have been there recently and know where he went in proximity to where I was. I spent a lot of time on W 6th. This city is so compact, but even short distances take some time to get too...
I’m a little sad for you now that your visit to the park and memories of Strawberry Fields are now kind of supplanted by this madness… I hope you had a happy sojourn in NYC
